How to program new keys when you don’t have an existing key:
Programming without a Recognized Key: (Key Vehicles Only)
Program a new key to the vehicle when a recognized key is not available. Canadian regulations require that owners see their dealer. If there are no currently recognized keys available, follow this procedure to program the first key. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete for the first key. The vehicle must be off and all of the keys you wish to program must be with you.
    1. Insert the new vehicle key into the ignition.
    2. Turn to ON/RUN. The security light will come on.
    3. Wait 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
    4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
    5. Repeat Steps 2-4 two more times. After the third time, turn to ON/RUN; the key is learned and all previously known keys will no longer work with the vehicle.
Remaining keys can be learned by following the procedure in “Programming with a Recognized Key

@@ThaMotivation12, Were you able to get the fob programmed? If so, how did you do it? My fob for my 2015 Tahoe broke and I ordered a new one. Now I'm looking for how to program it.

Hello Merono: I have a 2013 Tahoe LTZ. I followed your video to the letter (I think). I have only one good key; works fine, does not light-up SECURITY message (The info center displays prior choice; I usually have MPG displayed). When I did your procedure, using new non-programmed key (the extra key that I had cut), the Tahoe does start fine (with to-be-programmed key) but the SECURITY message stays lit. I waited, 2-3 minutes (longer than you did) but SECURITY light would not go off. When I turn engine off (with non-programmed key), and try and re-start; it does not work. I did not remove to-be-programmed key. I do not get a message about "Key is programmed" or anything like that, it continues to display SECURITY, and key does not work. When I try old/existing key again; works fine. Is the 2013 unique?

You may need to check to see how many keys are already programmed to your car. You may of maxed out your key limit.
