Those calling themselves Christians who also support Trump, haven't been lead away, they went where they wanted to go. That's why we've heard about Christians calling Jesus "too woke" and Christians calling for the execution of people. And, remember, THOSE are the people who have become the face of Christianity to non-Christians or those questioning religion altogether. Trump is a symptom, not a cause.

I was raised in church. My dad was a pastor (deceased), my mom is very involved in church and a big maga/trump supporter. This one issue has been the biggest factor of pushing me away. I am not sure that all these Christian’s even realize how many people don’t want to be associated with that. All the stress and strife and hypocrisy shouldn’t be under the roof of a church. The closest thing I’ve found to church since maga took them over has been on TH-cam here and there. It’s been a virus to the families and the churches of our nation. Thank you for addressing this. ❤

Another great episode. I've been making these points for years only to be shot down as a Social Justice Christian as if that were a bad thing. I literally find the word "Justice" in a social context all over the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments. God cares for His creation, and all of the creatures He made, especially those made in His own image and likeness. Jesus was no respecter of persons. He loved indiscriminately.
The so called Christian form of social justice is very unbiblical and Marxism in nature . It basically wants to replace the gospel of the grace of God that deals with real salvation. Pastor Dr. John MacArthur in a series refuted the social justice movement . He also provided a biblical manner to deal with life in our society.
There are many Christians at my Church that have very strong, trumpish type feelings about illegal immigrants. I find this very disturbing because I believe we have the capacity to help many and that God calls us to help the poor and needy and that they are our neighbors. Most importantly, God gives us very specific ways in which we are to treat aliens throughout the entire Bible. So, when I hear disparaging statements I tell them it is a topic that I am very interested in and could they provide a biblical basis for their opinion. They can't because their is no biblical support. This approach may not change anyone's mind but maybe they will have to look a little deeper.
My own father was an undocumented alien who came to this country at the age of 14. He married my mom, a Chiricaua Apache from Arizona. They had me and my 3 siblings. I've been around so called "illegals" my entire life and am bilingual as well as bicultural. Anytime I hear anyone in this country spewing forth their opinions about "those people" I want to ask them how many undocumented people do you know personally who live and work in the USA? You know their father, mother, spouse, their children, their cousins, uncles, aunts... Illegal immigration is a very painful subject for me because virtually everything I hear about it comes from people whose opinions are based on lies and assumptions spoon fed to them by individuals who themselves couldn't cite a single man, woman or child among their acquaintances.
I have struggled to communicate the truth of God’s word to some ‘Christian’ friends who persist in their support of Trump despite the increasing evidence of who he is. I have given up but I cannot continue the relationships if they want to drink the Koolaid. Thanks for shsring❤

In my youth, I seriously considered becoming a clergyman. I’m not sure when that notion changed, but I have kept the values of Christianity with me for life. When it became obvious that Trump was elected primarily by Evangelical Christians, I started to question whether I really was a Christian as Christianity is practiced today. I have several very Christian friends with whom I started to discuss this, because deciding that I wasn’t a Christian would have meant huge changes in my life. I would have had to stop attending many organizations to which I have belonged for 30 years and tried to figure out how I could continue living the kind of life I had built in a secular void. Thank you for your videos. Over the last five days I have watched 5 of them and they have given me confidence that I have been on the right track in my religious beliefs.

I want to share how refreshing it is to find a pastor speaking up. The silence has been deafening and the grief at my brothers and sisters going all in with “the little horn” is overwhelming. I do hope dear brother that you understand that that is who he is.. Our Father is “shouting” from the rooftops and the irony is right there in his name.. Trump is a horn. It’s what it means. Even though they also infuriate me, I do feel really bad for evangelicals. I don’t know if they came up with the idea on their own or were told by their preachers, but they seem to believe that Trump is the second coming of Christ, their messiah. The Bible warns against following false prophets and I think with Trump that is exactly what they are doing. Jeremiah 14:14 14 Then the LORD said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. DT avoided the question by a journalist in 2016 about if he'd ever paid a woman (or girl) to get an abortion. Given his history going back decades in regards to women and girls (consent or not) I would suspect there are dozens. I wish a journalist would ask him again. Unfortunately so many of these women/ girls are silenced by fear (of threats by DT and his followers) - or these NDAs which he forces them to sign. (He must have abused hundreds of women/ girls over the past 40 plus years.)

Thanks - but I would encourage you to do it, too! There are a few "big name" Christians who are saying what I'm saying (David French, Russell Moore, the Holy Post podcast, and others), but I think we need a groundswell of just normal folks like you and me to say it in our own words. But if you do, be prepared to take a lot of incoming fire. Lots of people will try to tell you you're off base. It's about a ten to one ratio of positive feedback to negative, though, and I've developed a thick skin over the years. :)
Thank you for the encouragement, Brother. In my old age, I've slacked off trying to be an influencer because I saw most influencers on an ego trip. Egomania seems to have taken over the nation. Your approach is superb and sublime. I just don't see how goodness and kindness can come under fire, but it does. Is the nation salvabile? I live in Italy and I'm even considering renouncing my US citizenship over Trump, not because of Trump himself but because of half the nation that follows him. The same phenomenon occured in Europe in the 30's when fascism came to power but I guess half the USA missed their history classes. Anyway, you're doing a fine pastoral work and I admire what you're doing, it's an inspiration for me. I have a few issues other than Trump (believe it or not 😅) that I would like to go public with. They're on my 'bucket list'. We'll see how far I get. What comforts me is the burden is not all on my shoulders. God's Kingdom will come whether I herald it or not and it is good so. Exactly my thoughts! During the Trump presidency, I called this channel Evangelical Resistance and I made videos against him. But I never like thinking about him. I took a couple years off after he lost, and I eventually renamed the channel Culture, Faith, and Politics so I could focus a lot more on things that give me life. I hope to eventually use the channel to talk about music, books, any number of things that have nothing to do with Trump. If he loses, that will be the best part, for me personally. If he wins, I know my conscience will impel me to keep talking about him.
The Lord works in mysterious ways indeed. I wasn’t looking for anything of this nature but I am extremely thankful I discovered it. I am a believer however when I watch the news ect. When I measure each candidate with the 2 lists, the acts of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit, the choice for my vote is absolutely clear. I have to talk to my husband in very very small hints really. Just planting little thoughts here and there....pointing out small things here and there and then praying that God reveal the truth to him. Prayer has helped a lot. He's come a long way and his ear has opened more and more. This morning my daughter was watching Veggie Tales, and the episode was going over loving your neighbor. I didn't say anything but I did pray. My husband watched it. I am hoping he is connecting that to our border issues. Just yesterday I was telling him that I had to remind someone that Christianity doesn't end at America's borders. So I hope that those little moments start matching up and he'll stop villifying immigrants. But I will pray for you and your husband. Just know that a wife's prayer is a powerful thing. Pray for convictions to come on him and that people he listens to and respects might come on and guide him in the right direction. God bless.

Aside from the issue of trying to disentangle confused people from the former President, I find these teachings nourishing me in my delight in God and thinking rightly about him, as Tozer observed. I have been asking the Lord to bring justice to these court cases with Trump, but to give me grace to surrender to His will if it doesn’t happen.

Another great episode. I've been making these points for years only to be shot down as a Social Justice Christian as if that were a bad thing. I literally find the word "Justice" in a social context all over the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments. God cares for His creation, and all of the creatures He made, especially those made in His own image and likeness. Jesus was no respecter of persons. He loved indiscriminately.
The so called Christian form of social justice is very unbiblical and Marxism in nature . It basically wants to replace the gospel of the grace of God that deals with real salvation. Pastor Dr. John MacArthur in a series refuted the social justice movement . He also provided a biblical manner to deal with life in our society.

There are many Christians at my Church that have very strong, trumpish type feelings about illegal immigrants. I find this very disturbing because I believe we have the capacity to help many and that God calls us to help the poor and needy and that they are our neighbors. Most importantly, God gives us very specific ways in which we are to treat aliens throughout the entire Bible. So, when I hear disparaging statements I tell them it is a topic that I am very interested in and could they provide a biblical basis for their opinion. They can't because their is no biblical support. This approach may not change anyone's mind but maybe they will have to look a little deeper.
That's a brilliant way to respond to those people 👏. There's so much hypocrisy in churches.
My own father was an undocumented alien who came to this country at the age of 14. He married my mom, a Chiricaua Apache from Arizona. They had me and my 3 siblings.
I've been around so called "illegals" my entire life and am bilingual as well as bicultural. Anytime I hear anyone in this country spewing forth their opinions about "those people" I want to ask them how many undocumented people do you know personally who live and work in the USA? You know their father, mother, spouse, their children, their cousins, uncles, aunts...
Illegal immigration is a very painful subject for me because virtually everything I hear about it comes from people whose opinions are based on lies and assumptions spoon fed to them by individuals who themselves couldn't cite a single man, woman or child among their acquaintances.
I have struggled to communicate the truth of God’s word to some ‘Christian’ friends who persist in their support of Trump despite the increasing evidence of who he is. I have given up but I cannot continue the relationships if they want to drink the Koolaid. Thanks for shsring❤

In my youth, I seriously considered becoming a clergyman. I’m not sure when that notion changed, but I have kept the values of Christianity with me for life. When it became obvious that Trump was elected primarily by Evangelical Christians, I started to question whether I really was a Christian as Christianity is practiced today. I have several very Christian friends with whom I started to discuss this, because deciding that I wasn’t a Christian would have meant huge changes in my life. I would have had to stop attending many organizations to which I have belonged for 30 years and tried to figure out how I could continue living the kind of life I had built in a secular void. Thank you for your videos. Over the last five days I have watched 5 of them and they have given me confidence that I have been on the right track in my religious beliefs.
Taking a break from church because if these folks like him, they don't care about my safety. The first four years, they didn't know him as NYers did, this time after hearing his nasty racist ignorant mouth and still accepting him means you are not Christian and I'll study alone.

Even though they also infuriate me, I do feel really bad for evangelicals. I don’t know if they came up with the idea on their own or were told by their preachers, but they seem to believe that Trump is the second coming of Christ, their messiah. The Bible warns against following false prophets and I think with Trump that is exactly what they are doing.

DT avoided the question by a journalist in 2016 about if he'd ever paid a woman (or girl) to get an abortion. Given his history going back decades in regards to women and girls (consent or not) I would suspect there are dozens. I wish a journalist would ask him again. Unfortunately so many of these women/ girls are silenced by fear (of threats by DT and his followers) - or these NDAs which he forces them to sign. (He must have abused hundreds of women/ girls over the past 40 plus years.)

Thanks - but I would encourage you to do it, too! There are a few "big name" Christians who are saying what I'm saying (David French, Russell Moore, the Holy Post podcast, and others), but I think we need a groundswell of just normal folks like you and me to say it in our own words. But if you do, be prepared to take a lot of incoming fire. Lots of people will try to tell you you're off base. It's about a ten to one ratio of positive feedback to negative, though, and I've developed a thick skin over the years. :)
Thank you for the encouragement, Brother. In my old age, I've slacked off trying to be an influencer because I saw most influencers on an ego trip. Egomania seems to have taken over the nation. Your approach is superb and sublime. I just don't see how goodness and kindness can come under fire, but it does. Is the nation salvabile? I live in Italy and I'm even considering renouncing my US citizenship over Trump, not because of Trump himself but because of half the nation that follows him. The same phenomenon occured in Europe in the 30's when fascism came to power but I guess half the USA missed their history classes.
Anyway, you're doing a fine pastoral work and I admire what you're doing, it's an inspiration for me. I have a few issues other than Trump (believe it or not 😅) that I would like to go public with. They're on my 'bucket list'. We'll see how far I get. What comforts me is the burden is not all on my shoulders. God's Kingdom will come whether I herald it or not and it is good so. In my tiny realm of influence, I try to bring glory to our Lord (and get a good portion of pushback as it is). Exactly my thoughts! During the Trump presidency, I called this channel Evangelical Resistance and I made videos against him. But I never like thinking about him. I took a couple years off after he lost, and I eventually renamed the channel Culture, Faith, and Politics so I could focus a lot more on things that give me life. I hope to eventually use the channel to talk about music, books, any number of things that have nothing to do with Trump. If he loses, that will be the best part, for me personally. If he wins, I know my conscience will impel me to keep talking about him.

I am so happy to find this podcast, with reasoned, Scriptural wisdom. My guiding Scripture for this election is Galatians 5:19-23. When I measure each candidate with the 2 lists, the acts of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit, the choice for my vote is absolutely clear. It’s almost as if Paul wrote these lists for this very time in 2024. How could any MAGA Christian defend Trump against this Scripture?

I have to talk to my husband in very very small hints really. Just planting little thoughts here and there....pointing out small things here and there and then praying that God reveal the truth to him. Prayer has helped a lot. He's come a long way and his ear has opened more and more. This morning my daughter was watching Veggie Tales, and the episode was going over loving your neighbor. I didn't say anything but I did pray. My husband watched it. I am hoping he is connecting that to our border issues. Just yesterday I was telling him that I had to remind someone that Christianity doesn't end at America's borders. So I hope that those little moments start matching up and he'll stop villifying immigrants. But I will pray for you and your husband. Just know that a wife's prayer is a powerful thing. Pray for convictions to come on him and that people he listens to and respects might come on and guide him in the right direction. God bless.

Aside from the issue of trying to disentangle confused people from the former President, I find these teachings nourishing me in my delight in God and thinking rightly about him, as Tozer observed. Have you read Jesus and the Powers by N.T. Wright and Michael Bird? There is a phrase in it about the power of His goodness and the goodness of His power. I love that.
