..and here I thought you were getting into the silent movie realm!!! nice touch fast forwarding through the repair since volume was off anyways! Great job!
Amazing repair! That pad and trace are so tiny, I can't believe you can do something like that by hand soldering with such precision. Much Kudos to you!!
Love your video's, they are absolutely useful and you make the repairs looks like easy. Meaning, you are a professional in your working field! Thank you very much Alex!
You do awesome work. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos and watch each one until I hear your little girl say "better than factory". Thank you and keep them coming. Mel - Canada.
The old triangular panic button Benz key fob joke: - What is the difference between an apple, a spruce tree and a pasture? - They are paired to a different vehicle.
this was just amazing! Im thinking it would be cool if you sell broken stuff, I know you already have donor boards, but maybe to practice trace repair and stuff like that
"Fichte" is a tree, like pine tree. and you speak it nearly perfect! "Weide" is also a tree. to be exactly its a Willow. but you have to practice this pronounciation :-) greetings from bavaria 🙂
The names of the chips are codenames associated to custom chip versions, I'll guess. It's like the naming on Amiga computers (Denise, Gary, Buster, Gayle, Lisa, etc.)...
So, were you able to reuse the customer mother board or did you just go straight to the donor board in case there was something else wrong with the customer fob?
i have 2007 Mercedes Gl450. Do you repair the ignition switch also? my mercedes would start intermittently, someone told me it could be bad ignition switch, n i have two key fob for it, one of which doesn't work. how much would fixing the ignition switch and 1 key fob be around?
Due to the lack of audio, I wanted to summarize as I see it. I assume that the Fichte/Apfel chips contain the configuration information for the particular vehicle. You removed the Fichte chip from the donor board th-cam.com/video/ywt3b9ICm2A/w-d-xo.html and did not use it since it was for a different car. You removed the Apfel chip from the customer's fob th-cam.com/video/ywt3b9ICm2A/w-d-xo.html, fixed the torn pad, and soldered it back to the donor board. Correct?
Still looking for help? I’ve done 20+ MB key swaps with NEC chip (all worked) and a few thousand SOIC-8 EEPROM swaps. Local to LA and could come by once a week.
lol - weed? Oh! No: WEIDE - pasture or meadow, pronounced: /vaɪ̯də/ - ə like the o-u in could /kəd/ As a general rule though for German vs. English => i = e and e = i Thanks anyway. Everything else till now was satisfactory 😂😉
Insane the amount of money these car manufacturers charge for a new fob. Absolute con. And crazy that they're now making something that gets dropped and knocked around a lot with BGA chips now. I suspect you're going to get a LOT more of these in future.
You were absolutely right about "Apfel", that's apple. "Fichte" means spruce.
Alex knows French
Alex even pronounced it right! I'm proud of you Alex :)
@@x1ic1x that's German not French
Probably the most impressive repair that I've seen after watching over 100 videos on your channel. Very well done👏👏
Ya, I was thinking its the best I've seen him do
Fixing the pad on the BGA chip was impressive!
The skill and precision you have makes me feel like a pro just watching.
Grüße aus Deutschland. Immer wieder schön, deine Videos anzuschauen. Fichte = Spruce
ALWAYS better than factory with Northridge fix!👏👏👏👏
Amazing chip trace repair and re- ball. No one suspects the complexity of fixing a Benz Fob. and why its costly. Alex is the best
Totaly agree with all you said about studying and degrees. At the end you might end up doing something absolutely diferent.
Very impressive solder work. Great video.
That was truly impressive! I hope you charge the fancy Euro car owners lots of $$ for this specialized repair!! 😊

Omfg how shallow are you... It hurts.

This video is a true definition of a craftsmanship. Outstanding work, Alex.

That was an Amazing repair Sir! I 42 years as a BSEE-PE, extra class ham and a GROL with a Radar endorsement. Impressive!

Amazing. My hands always shake, and I could never make such precise repairs on such a tiny trace. Awesome job!
Great work you absolutely gave the chip better than factory treatment
Good job Master nice to see you again thank for the teaching lessons.
Amazing skills and precision well done ❤
You did an amazing job Alex, I was just a passenger on this cruise. Thanks for the video and a big hello to: Pops, Big Boss and Ms. Dolly.
Alex, you have developed amazing skills over the years reworking a broad range of gear.
Amazing Job got addicted to your videos I never thought you could fix a pad like this. It needs precision
Didn't know you can fix that missing pad in a BGA Chip. 😱
Superb work boss alex.
9:56 The way that flux dispenses chips is absolutely amazing!🤣 Awesome repair Alex!
You do awesome work. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos and watch each one until I hear your little girl say "better than factory". Thank you and keep them coming. Mel - Canada.
It's really amazing, steady hands for such delicate work.
Another great video, thank you Alex! 🍾❤️
U pronounce „Fichte“ nearly perfect… all good! 😎👍🏾
wow, your hands must have gotten wet during this challenge, you are really the best. I wish I had your skills
The old triangular panic button Benz key fob joke:

wow amazing job indeed , better than factory 👍👍👏👏
I really enjoy watching this.

Spruce ( Fichte ) is a tree species. Thanks for your videos from Frankfurt ( Main ) Germany 👈🏻

That was some crazy chip rocket surgery.

Wowza! Incredible work.
you did an amazing job
Almost 2 weeks this time Alex! I was having serious withdrawals 🥴
This feels like an upload just to satisfy the PCBWay comtract.
this was just amazing! Im thinking it would be cool if you sell broken stuff, I know you already have donor boards, but maybe to practice trace repair and stuff like that
Fichte is pronounced "fish-ta." Great repair.
Nicely done!
Nice job!

Benz reinventing the wheel, over and over again.
🥰🥰🥰 Der absolute Wahnsinn 🥰🥰🥰
Fichte is "Spruce" new German word for me! Can the Fob tester also test other brands? Great fix!!
The names of the chips are codenames associated to custom chip versions, I'll guess. It's like the naming on Amiga computers (Denise, Gary, Buster, Gayle, Lisa, etc.)...
Where did you get the working donor board? Car junkyard?
So, were you able to reuse the customer mother board or did you just go straight to the donor board in case there was something else wrong with the customer fob?
He move customer's firmware chip onto donor board.
I suggest you get a backup mic running completely Seperately.
Fichte means Spruce, and Appel means Appeal. I hope this helps. It's just a company name like ASMedia or Realtek or Intel and so on.
Cheaper to programme a new key, unless its a FBS4, other then that great work 👌
I want to Say Wow
Came in for repair.
Fichte means Spruce in german. In some regions you also can say if someone is drunk as hell, he is fichte.
Hi
How much did you charge for this repair?
Fichte - spruce
Apfel - apple
Weide - willow
Don't know why they name their chips like this
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
i have 2007 Mercedes Gl450. Do you repair the ignition switch also?
my mercedes would start intermittently, someone told me it could be bad ignition switch, n i have two key fob for it, one of which doesn't work.
how much would fixing the ignition switch and 1 key fob be around?
We don't work on ignition switches. Only key Fobs
Fichte means the Name of a Tree (Spruce)
"Fichte" is a kind of tree 🌲"Spruce" or in my language "Spar"
"Weide" means meadow and "Apfel" is apple. It sounds more like code-names, not company names.
Güzel bir sunumdu fakat mikrofon koptu tesekkurler
MAD SKILLZ 😆
Fichte is a kind of a conifer.

Hello how much the range to fix a asus rog laptop GU502GV? . I think the chipset is broke. And my friend said is has to replace the motherboard
Still looking for help? I’ve done 20+ MB key swaps with NEC chip (all worked) and a few thousand SOIC-8 EEPROM swaps. Local to LA and could come by once a week.
Those chip names are german tree names and Fichte is a pine tree or spruce tree.
👍👍👍
Fichte means pine tree. Your close to pronouncing it right, pretty good for someone not speaking german.
Fichte in German means some kind of tree, i think in eng. called Spruce
Fichte is the german word for spruce, a tree, but not that kind of tree where you would find apples (Apfel) on.
Fichte means spruce. Apfel means apple.
👍👍👌👌
Greetings from Germany. #apfel #fichte
People should sue Mercedes for this and give you a percentage of what they'll get from the lawsuit. Literally
Fichte= Spruce tree
lol - weed? Oh! No:
WEIDE - pasture or meadow, pronounced: /vaɪ̯də/ - ə like the o-u in could /kəd/
As a general rule though for German vs. English => i = e and e = i
Thanks anyway. Everything else till now was satisfactory 😂😉

The moral of the story is that if your Benz fob goes bad send it to Alex, not Mercedes Benz
Wondering what the Panic button do
They set off the car alarm and set all lights to flashing.
Excellent Alex
