You know micro soldering takes a very specific amount of experience to understand to get to a point where Alex is at. Im looking at his videos and the precision and efficiency is unmatched. Im sure lots of us who only casually swap out logic boards feel like it's magic what he does but as many have mentioned the joy he experiences in his own success makes me smile like he can't believe his own magic.
Like fundamentally we all understand shorts and traces and clearing signal obstruction and allowing current to flow within tolerance is all you need to do(Dumbledore said calmly) but when you confirm it by turning it on... It's just as powerful as down right resurrection
That smile of accomplishment never gets old... Keep up the good work Alex...
You know Alex is good with his marketing when I don't even do these repairs, but I want to buy stuff from his shop after he explains the products. 😂
Genuine Amtech flux
@@Friendroid genius flux😂😅
Both him and his products are amazing
I'm getting Amtech flux for my family this Christmas
@@mikecarroll757 i hope you all enjoy it 🙌
@@mikecarroll757 It's literally sitting in my mailbox right now! Time to walk downstairs and grab it! ^^
It's almost as if the electronic components conspire to beguile and mislead you to think their neighbour is the faulty one! Marvellous repair and so educational. Bravo!
I love watching alex getting a successful repair. Gonna be one happy kid that they can get their saves back.
This is my switch. Thank you for fixing it has been hell. And to answer how it all got like that, it got left on the trunk of the car and I drove off 😅
Love your work, Alex ! You're a true master .
About the customer's battery, I had a similar incident.
I changed a USB-C port on a switch, and after it was done, I tested it with my own battery, and it was working . The minute I plugged in the customer's battery, it was stuck on 12v.
After some research, I read somewhere that the switch has a problem with completely dead batteries. Somehow, it doesn't communicate with the device.
So I peeled back the insulation on the customer's battery and connected it to my bench power supply for about 30s on 5v. Just so it can have a bit of juice.
Plugged it back in the switch, and it was working flawlessly.
P.S. : I encountered the same thing on an iPhone 8
Hope this helped .
Keep up the good work, Alex
Love your stuff my guy!!! Im from Romania and i stay in Cincinnati i wish i could have a 2ed mentor like you but my electronic engineering mentor is older so his Eyesight isnt the best anymore so iv had to do alot of this new smd learning alone. But your videos help me alot! Wish you a grate life and prosperity gentlemen like you i look up to!
I just wanna say I appreciate these videos. Between your commentary and the simplicity of the videos. I just wanted to say thanks.

It is so cool to see how happy you are every time you have done a successful repair!
I just can't believe Nintendo doesn't allow SD card or game cart saves.
To add salt to the injury, even the paid cloud backup doesn't take all the saves, some games like pokemon are locked out.
They are paranoid about the Switch being hacked, but it was hacked years ago.
If they allow that, hackers can easily hack the switch.
@@zandatsu07 it's already hacked
@@stevesgaming7475 has any of their other deviced been hacked via saves on carts, like the 3DS or DS?
good catch on the battery, the customer would have claimed you didnt fix it. They would have said that the battery was new.
I love an involved repair like this. Awesome!!
4:07 that's not a blob, that's Epcot's dome
ما شاء الله على التغييرات في المحل لاحظت في الاخير وبالذات مكانك انت والخال.... بالتوفيق
Yo this was for me! WOOT glad I get to see the video also!
Bruce Lee reference was totally on point. Alex definitely wears a black belt!!!
The master! Excellent repair Alex! 👍
If the solder blob was not giving a hint, the initial alignment of the chip should clear up everything
Respect!!! For the great work and the detailed explanations. Your videos first got me interested in the topic of "Micro Soldering". And tried it for myself. It takes a steady hand, a lot of specialist knowledge and a good deal of skill to get defective electronics back on track. I still have a lot of practice to be even halfway as good as you, but it's fun and gives me drive. Keep it up - I love your videos!!
Greetings from Germany
when you wicked off the big blob under the BQ chip 13.45 you left a perfect smiley face imprint in the solder
Alex my friend , You are the King of repairs!! I learned a lot from your videos. Thank you and God bless
Every time he says " Hiroshima" in his videos it cranks me up 😂😂 I love his honesty even if it hurts. Awesome videos !
No sleep for the master.
Have a great week.
Ah dat big smile of accomplishment at the end says it all!
Love your videos ❤ just starting out and I love how you explain your prices etc, cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Great work on a switch in bad condition. Thank you for that video, greets
I could watch these videos all fucking day
That voice when you hit success.😃😊
may you forever expect and receive the best :)

you motivate me dude, hope to be as good as you one day
Could u share where u study fixing motherboard and graphic card?
@@leonh9078 He's just talking...
You can sell all this greats tools that can make a wonderfull job, but one this that you can sell that do the 90% of work is experience and talent
Outstanding as always.
Really great thanks
2000 hrs is 8hrs a day /5 days a weeks…..( it’s a typical work ‘year’) in the US
goooog gooog
really nice work you do...
King all the best 👍
Major emergency. Imagine losing your saves!
Nice work! Obviously all tools are essential but it looks like the thermal camera is particularly indispensable - and I don’t have one of those yet.
if u have reflection issue when using light i suggest using CPL filter
LA's toughest gangSTAR! ❤ from UK.
Music to your mother's ears 'I'm gonna start by putting the fume extractor on' 😊
Just wow 😮❤
that was a happy fix
The 2000 HR Switch, could you have taken out the memory and placed it on a new switch? Since she was willing to pay $1200 for the fix.. could you have done this?
Always Brilliant !
mobile devices should have battery bypass like a laptop that can work without a battery. I'm annoyed that old smartphones in the household have worn down or bulging batteries.
What kind of charging station it is used to test the boards?
Many Thanks.
pine hollow auto diagnostics brought me here
Good job mate 👍
Always a great job.
Good job, thanks for sharing. Just curious: How can one be sure not to bridge pins to the ground plane under the IC when squeezing QFNs?
Surface tension does it for you. With good quality flux and a little pressure, bridges won't form. Any extra solder will squeeze out the sides and can be cleaned up with an iron.
"If it's not broken, dont fix it" is a good rule to follow 😅
Fantastic job
hey i love your videos man. U entertain me everysingle time after work 😄 i just have a question (for u and the community ♥) why dont you start with the voltage injection? shouldnt u see the failing part immediately? ps: love your videos
Quick question - In your video, you mention voltage drop when your probing on PCB. Is the voltage coming from multimeter or are you injecting voltage from external power source? The meter was in diode mode correct? I am just learning how to troubleshoot from your videos. You make awesome videos! Thanks for sharing!
Good job 👏👏👏
Another great video. Thanks for sharing. What microscope and lens are you using? Thank You
Good job Alex, Better than Factoy
do more melting 4080/4090s :)
Maybe you need like a small boss that can assist you or bigg boss when you guys are busy :)
I use that as a normal charger 😂, it gives instant readings, supports fast charging, wireless charging and 12 volts charger
Mom says get that fume extractor, face mask, and gloves on!
Awesome as always. Question about the cap you replaced, Lets say you did not have a switch to take one off of, how does one know the value otherwise.
I know how it feels to have lost save file of game, when you spend a lot of time grinding and losing months of playing.😢
4:41 is it me or is that chip slightly off? like turned clockwise...
Awesome Awesome work 👏
cant find solder tips in your store Alex .I have searched every category
nvm i found the pen
Better than Factory!
Great.💪
What temperature are you using for your hot air gun and the speed? Also what size nozzle are you using. I have my hot air nozzle but I'm not sure what settings to use
Fabulous!
Better than factory !
Man my kid would of been screwed, i would of been like welp time to play outside
Maybe the screen or the battery were nkt faulty. It mjght maybe the repair shop that changed the battery to a faulty one after they found out it wasnt fixable.
1:00 Y are ppl not using cloud save ?!
It saves you so much trouble and costs less than the shipping even...
Better than factory
please can you put another windows on the screen one of the multimeter reading and another one of the power supply .. I have learned lot of things from you .. and appreciate your efforts and work ..🎉
You are the best !
2,000 Hrs on a game? I have over 25,000 Hrs in a game. Not bragging, just showing how much we love our games. Lol! I'd probably have more hrs if I didn't spend time watching your videos, but I enjoy watching them almost as much as I do gaming.
I have a question, (curious), is there a way to save the game content by transferring wherever they are saved from from the damaged board?
amazing job
As someone who's getting into this business, I was wondering what your percentage of being able to fix vs no fix is?
50/50
Excellent
Simple!
tres bon travail
Bruce Lee was also the master of soldering, soldering faces of bad people without microscope and flux
How can I send in switch for repair?
Came in for repair.
always a nintendo repair is a super priority :))
i remember when my tablet "kept breaking" and i sent it to get "fixed" every week then i realised how they "fixed" it, they unplugged the screen and charged it with a fast charging cable
Do people really think saying that something is important to critical or urgent will make repair shops do something special just for them ?
Sad switch.
Hello sir i need to make a crude smps converter could u help me to find some videos
Flux The World
Aeon Flux
Alex, I’m looking for a decent electronic screwdriver. Do you sell one? Big boss seems to use one and you sell everything you use, right? I’m in need of flux anyway, but I will add the screwdriver to cart if you have one. Keep up the good work and thanks for all of your efforts to spread your knowledge. 😊
ES120. We've got a few of them and they are just great. Some caution with the micro USB port is advised though (don't let it fall off the table while charging).
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
So it seems, the battery was culprit only!!!!!
I simply don't understand why people don't have online or if possible local backups. It's the same thing when people have 10 years of 'precious' photos stored on their iPhone with no backups.
