There’s first time for everything as we learn from this channel, for the last 3-4 years I’ve followed you Alex today is the first day I’ve seen you puzzled with an asus laptop, they are usually a walk over for you but this one was really something, in my area code it’s midnight already but I saw a 25 mins video uploaded and I was like there’s something fishy and I was like I’m not sleeping without knowing what’s really in this video. Amazing work though
mlcc capacitors can have piezoelectric effects they create voltage when being tapped and make sound / vibrate when charging/discharging them with sharp transient voltage spikes
I think the ticking sound is the laptop trying to play the "ROG" sound (who these models make on every boot), but being constantly interrupted by a thermal protection reboot 😉
You are quite an inspiration, Alex. Thank you for all your videos. I suggest you try to use a stethoscope to find a sound source. They are rather cheap, and can be quite useful in my opinion.
@@don4techy He's not wrong. A switching regulator attempting to turn on especially if it's dumping into a high current load like a short can emit a noise from its inductor as the windings aren't solidly bound together they can flex just enough. Under normal conditions you might even hear a high pitch buzzing or tone.
you are great skills and expirence to repair that imposible to fix ,, i learn a lot from you ,,how to fix that laptop,,thank you master ,,master of all masters,
You just wanted us to watch the whole video, you sly fox. You knew it was the speaker named BOT. You making a mystery drama show for entertainment my guy and it was VERY good. Thank you for another amazing video.
Use a piece of tube to locate sounds like a stethoscope. Put one end to your ear and point the other around until the sound is clear, and whatever it is pointing at is where the sound is coming from. Any tube or straw will work.
I've heard a lot of horror stories about ASUS laptops...the verdict is still out for me as most of the failures appear to be users that are gross slobs, but I have that 3500 dollar one with the dual screens and I am very careful with it just in case. You're a sharp dude and I love your channel. Keep up the great work. Much respect.
Since you mentioned Best Buy I'm curious if you get warranty work through them? I know back when I worked there it had to be shipped to a repair facility.
Cheers !!!! I have still on my Possession the first Asus Strix 17 Scar v1 - 8750h.1070gtx. sometimes need to keep pressed the power button exactly 1 min .After that it's powe on nominally...
I have a good solution for when my PC has a problem I can't track down. It's called a Waste Management trash container. I call it my frustration remover.
4:11 so savage haha I can relate i can specialize in something and be very good at it and the moment I stop I forget 90% so having references helps immensly.
Hey Alex, at 6:08 in video, there is a fan connector labeled j5001. would it be possible for you to ordersome thru your store? i cannot find them and need several. thanks.
What seems to go first in all the videos is the capacitors and mosfets......likely user error, using the laptop on the bed blocks those fans from pulling in air to cool the board!

Wow 2 separate issues at the same time? That was amazing diagnostics and repairs!

First time i saw you in tensed situation.asus have taken your much time than your most of your previous repairs.love from India 🇮🇳.
That click sound could be because of an inrush current in the inductor. the winding might make such a sound, Usually bigger ones
Lol how wrong you were......inductor clicking.....are you high?
@@don4techy shut that off. have you ever built a circuit yourself? no. you repair F35, you know everything!

I understand that spills etc can cause problems but is it the life span of components or over heating being the problem.

Could you share some stats about what the most and least frequent laptop brands you get?
Great content 👍💪
Why didnt you use thermal camera in the first place?
What laptop do you use?
You sir are amazing!
Thats what I thought some devices will not turn on without fans and/or heat zink. Inverter solders work just like that.
Great job ❤

Since you know the common problems on laptops and graphics cards, would you design your own through pcbway for a better product if it's possible.
Awesome is right!
