Dunno if you guys cares but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my gf for the last months =)
I’ve bought one and this is the best review I’ve seen. I agree absolutely. The one thing that is missed that really annoys me is the terrible speakers. I have the beat upgrades and they’re awful. It’s great great fun and good value. Interior plastic is low quality. Worse than a Golf R. Get it in red.
Got a 2019 one and I agree . I upgraded my speakers , need to insolate the doors pannels and its mint . I will wrap some plastics with alcantara aswell. Overall I love the car
@@mihalceanu I’ve sold mine. I liked it immensely but came up against a major issue. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable on a long journey. I couldn’t live with them.
Liked the little comment at the end Joe, I wondered if you'd make reference to it. I was quick shocked by the entire thing, you always seem like a pretty sensible guy and a decent driver. You didn't deserve to be made an example of, especially compared to many others on here. Keep up the good work!
I got a 2019 Cupra Leon back in Jan wearing the Seat Bronze Badge. The DSG gearbox can be a bit slow on the uptake if you are in Comfort but if you prepare i.e. put it in sport or use the paddles to override and drop it down a cog before you need it it responds very well and you certainly do reach speed limits quick enough. My car is completely base spec but the standard kit is really good.
I don't why Seat don't offer memory seats on these - they are already electric, and you can see the space for the buttons (like they are on the Mk7 Golf). Very handy if it's a family car, with a couple of drivers..
Top work as always. Having gone from a BMW ZF 8 Speed to this engine and DSG in a Golf R - absolutely agree with your comments. The gear change is rapid once it decides what gear it wants if left in 'D'. And who doesn't like a DSG fart on full chat! But everyday driving, nothing compares to that ZF to live with.
Great review joe. I have a 2019 Leon Cupra St 4 drive. Love it to bits. It’s has the copper seat logos etc. my last one was a 2017 Leon cupra St 290. Was a great car too but couldn’t put down the power been 2wd. In the Leon the st 4 drive is a must. The hatch is still 2wd.
Loved your subtle b-roll shot going through a speed camera ;) . Absolute rubbish, don't let it get to you. Your channel is truly, truly one of the best.
At the end of the day (I hate that cliche), what else is there on the market that offers that level performance and practicality for the same money? Some of us 'older' petrolheads need/want a higher riding performance 'hatch'. and this fits the bill......as does my 8u RSQ3.......and I'm a knackered old git!
great start to this vid, Joe....very cinematic, but no need for the disclaimer! :-)) we had one of these to detail, but didn't drive it. Interesting vehicle...Keep going with the content
Test driving one of these on Wednesday so looking forward to seeing what it's like. Not sure its going to be quite exciting enough but I like the styling and the idea of it so let's see
@@GRfourfun this Wednesday coming. Will report back. Although I have to say my eye is more drawn to a C43 AMG wagon at the moment so the cupra will have to really impress. Although it's cheaper and newer of course.
Car is good. Ticks a lot of boxes for me in terms of practicality/performance/cost and looks. Just waiting for the deal on my part ex 530d touring and I'll probably be ordering one. They had the leon cupra R estate in too which is lovely but sadly I think a touch too small for two growing kids in car seats in the back. The Ateca has loads more leg room.
Good review Joe, I own the base Cupra Ateca in Red and it ticks all the boxes for me, can’t say that I have encountered the DSG box lurching when you take your foot off the brake. My car stays static just like a “hill hold” function and does not move until the accelerator is pressed. I agree that the interior is dark, but I like this as it reminded me of performance Fords from my youth such as the 2.8 injection Capri or XR2’s which had black headlining. There are extras that few reviews have mentioned such as alloy pedals, illuminated sill protectors, roof bars. The Cupra puddle lights are neat and I think the LED headlights are really good. Keep up the good work with the reviews! Gav.
This engine in a "T"roc could be interesting! Great review Joe, have to agree some of those plastics are hideous, surely they could do better in this respect! Cheers.
Got to agree with your comment about DSG (DQ500) It’s not a very refined unit and that is confirmed by owners of Tiguan, Skoda and Audi which use the same gearbox. I’d take the ZF converter type all day long!
I've got one and.....it leaves me cold. Nigh on zero driver involvement thanks to the plethora of tech. I've had it since end of January, been on a 2000 miles road trip to Denmark and back, which involved Germany, done return trips from Manchester to Surrey, weekend groceries, pretty much every chance for the car to shine, yet I'll be swapping it for a 4 year old Lotus Exige as soon as I can. My advice would be to either see if you can get your mitts on a SEAT Leon ST Cupra R with the abt tuning or get a VW Golf R estate. Both are cheaper, just as practical, just as fast, but more agile and they will put a smile on your face when the opportunity presents itself rather than, in my case, meh (I believe youths exclaim). Nice vid Joe and I agree as an owner with 99% of your observations.
it won't get cheaper. VAG have plans to elevate the Cupra brand to premium, above VW, and make Skoda cheaper. Atm VW, SEAT and Skoda compete on the same market in many countries, and the guys in Wolfsburg don't like it.
Great review, Joe. Must say that, after 3 years of S3 ownership with a DSG box, I have always found it smooth and never lurches forward when releasing the footbrake - it has been great. Oh, and I'm very intrigued at your last comment....👍🏼
"Its very dark in here" as he wears sun glasses 😂

A good all rounder, great family car, fast & sporty 😉 good review Joe 👍🏻

@hugohugo2832 were the seats different from the ones in this video?

COS COMFORT IS ECO MODE..HAVE SAME CAR...SPORT IS THE WAY TO GO MAN..SRY NOT SAME CAR BUT SAME ENGINE AS IN CUPRA ATECA:DD
I have a cupra ateca same colour love it. Practical and fun ideal for someone with a family.
Snap, but mine is in Black. Love it to bits. Real head turner.
Same here in sweden! Love how you can have a quiet comfortable ride and in a second race a porsche macan to the noise of a proper soprtscar 🔥
Mine is red. It gives my 996 Turbo a run for its money.
How is your fuel economy

Great review Joe, as Cupra specialists we love what it gives to be the more family orientated one ;)
ABT package is a must on these, taking it to 350bhp makes it even more fun 👍👌
Can you buy the pack if you already have the one without it ?

Great video Joe. Looking forward to the Leon Cupra review, hope it’ll be the ST!

Who would have thought SEAT’s seats would be so good 😀 the LEON CUPRA should be fun, can’t wait for that video.
YES JOE!! Brilliant review. I love this car. Keep up the good work. 👍👍
Yet to drive it,looking forward to it
What about Mini Countryman JCW 306 HP?
I've got one there good, my only negative is the small fuel tank.

That’s exactly the car I am eyeing on as my next family car, good overall value package
Foto4Max the Ateca is nice but doesn’t hold the toad near as good.
I test drove a SEAT Ateca 2.0TDI FR Sport with 19"wheels I could feel every imperfection on the road.
This one has 4x4 and electronically adjustable dampeners.

Great video. But it's not "bronze" it's copper! Cupra is Latin for copper
nice vid, not really my kind of vehicle but very fair review! and the merch line expands! CTRL+SHIFT empire 👍 👍

Probably because you have the active brake on. And he probably doesn't.
If I was in the market, which I am not, I would go for a Q3 Sportback.. had a look at Sidways Sid loaner, bit rubbish...

Yes, the T-Roc R is the obvious competitor and better looking.
T roc is even worse in interior quality. All hard plastics.
The only thing that is better in T-Roc is the badge. Otherwise Ateca is a better car. But most will go for the badge of course.

Cupra ateca has dq381. Seat does not have the 500.
Have you had a crack in a Skoda Kodiak Vrs? Be interested to hear what you thought of that. Good video.
It's the same car
James Tyrrell no it’s not, the Skoda only has a 240 brake diesel

Just in case anyone didn’t know already, joe is 6ft4.
Really? He doesn’t mention it very often...
Kinda cute
When ever that engine is talked about there is never any mention of the fact that it is also the one you get in the Leon Cupra
It's in about 20 models on the current market
Abit redundant to call it a sports SUV when that's what the 'S' already stands for 😀
the wheels are 20"
I think they are only 19" wheels. 20" are only available on the ltd edition Ateca.
"....large glovebox....." - Try putting something in it....

£42k for an Ateca? It looks like a Ford Fusion.
Nope.
