Replacing Tiff with the guy who pretends he knows cars is like replacing a vacuum cleaner with a pressure washer. Sort of similar, but an awful idea.

I picked my Cupra Ateca up last Monday and i love it. It drives great and the DSG gearbox is excellent.
And today? Are you still loving it?
@@Boeser0Fuchs I got rid of it and upgraded to an S560 Merc. I did love it but the ride was a little hard and I suffer chronic back pain and if I drove for more than 45 mins I’d be crippled when I got out. If I was a fit man with no aches and pains I’d have kept it and I was sad to see her go.

I have this car and I love it. Before it I had an equally nice Ateca Fr 2.0 TSI with a higher spec. I drive everywhere in economy mode (goes into neutral when you take your foot off the clutch) and get up to over 30mpg on a 6 mile drive if I drive sensible 35 mpg on motorway. It's a lovely ride with the dampened suspension and factory sound system is great. It's not got anything like the kit of a Bimmer or Merc but I didn't want to pay many £K's for gimmicks. It's quick if you need it to be but living where I live I drive cautiously with a mind for horses and cyclists. I really like and wouldn't look anywhere else at this price point.

"This is a consumer show, it's not all about me": didn't get the same vibe from the Mazda 3 episode, where an initial "I don't like it" was enough to trash the car the whole time.
Also, the Mazda was penalised because it had "no identity", while this Seat with Cupra badging, a VW engine and Audi brakes scores much better.
If you want reflective scratchy plastic try another brand, I agree they could of designed a better badge.
There is seat branding look on the edge of the rear lights

Cupra basically just use whatever spare parts they could find in VW group and put it on a all "new" car.

Vicky, Cupra are bringing stand alone models, this was just to get people to see the brand slightly different from Seat, an introduction! But yes the badge is terrible! They should of kept the old cupra flag!

Honda Civic Type R is 5.7 to 60 and this is 5.2...
Pretty sure type r does it less than 5 secs and i doubt that vw parts bin can do 0-60 in less than 6

I picked my cupra up last monday and ill bet £5k it'll will beat the civic. It handles better than any hot hatch ive ever driven
I own both cars a 2018 Type R and a 2019 Cupra Ateca both are Great cars! The Cupra is a great sporty SUV but the Type R is a another level in corners. Not only because of its lower chassis. You cannot compare both cars!

A very decent price for what you get. Plus the seat lights are some of the best lookers on the market atm.
Though I'd probably go for the lean St cupra awd for similar money. Just as practical, just as quick, but isn't an SUV. Win, win, win.
Seat at the cheaper sporty division in the VW range. Cuora are the expensive sporty division in VW group

5th gear without Tiff is like top gear without the 3 muppets that are running the Grand Tour now. No diss to the new guy, but somebody made quite a mistake taking Tiff off. Going through the comments, seems i am not alone.

This is just like Abarth, they don't want their cars being called FIATs, even though they are sport versions of FIAT models. Come on SEAT, first work on making your brand desirable, then you can sub-brand.

@@voivod6871 they make childish remarks, like the badge and the lights has seat brand.... its a cupra because it has 300 hp, a sporty body, different seats. Now i understand why top gear have always had more viewers than these guys

Thing is, it’s not all that radical of a change, is it..? Abarth for example has always been much more than just a fiat with a bit more horsepower. They have developed their own cars and made them extremely competitive in racing. Now, I am not saying that Cupra will not be able to do that. I’m confident that they can, but it just is not special enough yet for a performance brand. But it’s only been a year..! Let’s give them some time, shall we..?

Take a Golf R, jack the body up several inches, cheapen the interior and stick on some silly badges and this is what you end up with.
Maybe not a bad car, but maybe just a bit pointless? And would you pay more for this "Cupra Ateca" than a Golf R..? Nah. Me neither.

@@hughfitz95 No its not, in the UK this is about £3.5k more than a Golf R!!! Almost £40 grand! Crazy considering Seat is supposed to be a budget brand.

You've never been in one. The All Week Drive is a life-saver in the snow and it's got loads of space. I've had Golfs and would never choose one over this...Really nice ride in comfort mode
