The VVitch is such a great movie, it basically got me into the horror genre. Oddly enough, it's the only film here that I've seen, though I've been meaning to watch Hereditary for a very long time. The most disturbing film I've ever watched is definitely Martyrs. I watched it alone (the first time), and I just felt absolutely awful by the time it was over. I actually watched it again with my ex, because they were curious about watching it, and it wasn't quite as terrible the second time, but still brutal. I don't know if I recommend it or not. The early part of the story is decent, but the back half of the film goes off the rails.
I can think of a couple of disturbing movies to add to your list that aren't horror movies but are still disturbing. "Gummo" is a freaky weird movie and so is "Enter the void". A lot of people would probably disagree with me, but I thought the movie "Seven" was really disturbing because it seemed like it could really happen.
What transcends after Martyrs? Nothing compares to it You finish it and you wanna see something even more gorey and disturbing But there is nothing that really competes with it
disturbing/ambiguous/psychological horror film recommendations 1. the wailing 2. the medium 3.a tale of two sisters 3. gonjium the haunted asylum(found footage) 4.svaha the sixth finger 5.epitaph 6.the end of april
I commend your list! I’m impressed you ran into Begotten. If I may, films I never want to see again: Threads. Grave Of The Fireflies. Tetsuo, The Iron Man
check out Italian film Salo. It is both disturbing as well as disgusting. What makes this even more disturbing is the director was murdered because he made this film
Yo I hated the witch. I love being outside and that movie freaked me out. Almost to the point if I seen a lady put there I'd be like HEY DONT EVEN LOOK IN MY DIRECTION HOMIE....
Antichrist i great, barshit when the chick gets the scissors... Nekromantik is a masterpiece. The Witch is brilliant. Mother is a trip. A Setbian Film is astounding. Begotten is a classic. I really lke Hereditery.
Antichist: tbh outside of the really bad scene, you know the one, I can't figure out what the FUCK was going on until the movie was over, and even then. I could give you like a two sentence summary, but couldn't possibly describe it scene for scene. I didn't like it lol No hate to people who do. Begotten: Same, I had to look it up. I don't really remember the whole summary, just that the wheelchair thing stabbing itself was supposed to be God. So it was some edgy boi atheist movie, I guess? I do think people should watch it since it's framed in clips as real snuff and other stupid things. Anyway, if you've never watched it, I suggest Martyrs. Not the American one, the original French one. It definitely folds into modern French extremity, but it's also a legitimately powerful, terrifying and sad and haunting story.
The most disturbing thing about this video without question was your disclaimer at the beginning that you're not featuring any 'Snuff Films'. I mean... Surely, that's not something that's necessary to tell your viewers, right? *starts becoming discernably anxious. Begins slowly backing up towards the door as sweat starts profusely dripping from his face* I mean... They didn't need to hear that, right? Shit... Are you guys going to kill me? Ok... jokes aside... I loved your brutal honesty when it came to your review of that unbelievably shitty 'snoozefest' called 'Begotten'. I had to divide the film up into quarters in order to get through it. I would say that it's by far the shittiest movie I've seen in my entire life. There's Two issues with that, however. Firstly, if I said that, it would still be far too complimentary. This 'movie' deserves to be 'dragged' like no other. The other issue is that the 'film' really isn't a movie in even the loosest sense. It's an avante garde 'Art Project' intentionally shot with garbage cameras, so the viewer has absolutely no clue what the fuck is going on. I read a synopsis and *surprise*, it turns out that The movie... sorry... Shitty Art Project doesn't feature anything that even vaguely resembles a somewhat coherent 'plot' with the slightest semblance of a story arc or any of the conventions of a legitimate movie. There's no plot, no dialog and it's impossible to discern what the hell is being depicted. It's an hour and a half (maybe only an hour) of watching super grainy footage of 'something' and saying 'What the fuck' every ten minutes or so. I'm convinced that no one truly likes that 'Art Project'. There simply is nothing TO LIKE! The only people giving it positive reviews are likely those Tragic Hipster Guys that spends half of his time 'regurgitating obscure and completely arbitrary facts about small craft beer companies, yet can't drink a single beer without getting completely wasted and throwing up all over the place', and the other half of the time berating you and accusing you of being 'uncultured swine' because you've never heard one specific Ween Demo featuring one 3 min. song played on a washboard and an empty liquor bottle, which he insists is The Greatest Musical Masterpiece of All Time! Oh... And they also, spend the equivalent of a mortgage down payment annually on 'Beard Products', but... that probably goes without saying. I'll definitely have to check out 'Heriditary'. I absolutely loved 'Midsommar'. That's actually my pick for 'Most Disturbing Movie'. Unbelievably disturbing, but brilliant. A must see! Good job!
Yeah, some movies are so disturbing that they're garbage.

There's a 90s movie called Happiness, with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Dylan Baker, and other recognizable faces. Hard to find, but crazy disturbing

The Human Centapede needs to be on this list, as a matter of fact it needs to be on every disturbing movie list lol
Requiem for a Dream (2000). Drug abuse.
The deaths of the white hunters at the beginning of The Naked Prey (1966). Especially the roasting death.
SHES BACK AGAIN!🤘
Check out, "The Blackcoat's Daughter"
