  • brushbucktours.com/yellowston... - Brushbuck Wildlife Tour guide, Daniel Bradford, captured an AMAZING interaction of a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park still out on December 29th and the Junction Butte Wolf Pack during a guided tour in Yellowstone National Park.
    This was a incredible sight to witness as most bears should be in hibernation during this time (December 29th). Grizzlies take over wolf kills 80% of the time in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
    Junction Butte Wolf Pack originally took down an elk. When they came back to the carcass they were surprised to find a grizzly bear had stolen it. Eventually, the wolves moved on leaving the bear alone with their kill.
    Brushbuck Wildlife Tours is a veteran owned business based out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming for over 10 years with perfect, 5-star ratings on TripAdvisor, Google, and Viator. We are the largest Yellowstone tour company in the Jackson WY area.

      @@josephs8364 A Grizzley bear has never registered a kill on a healthy adult wolf in the wild. But wolves have killed adult grizzley bears in the wild. Wolves have clearly learnt to kill them without being killed. If I'm wrong show me evidence but I know you can't because it hasn't happened 😂😂 I can show you evidence of my claims by reputable sources.
      Down below are like 10 vids of wolves dealing with adult bears. A bear cannot even catch a back-peddling wolf 😂😂
      There is a vid in there where 3 wolves are feeding and a large bear came aggressively and only ONE wolf was required to push it away but at the same time a juvenile one came peacefully so the wolves allowed it to feed with them. During this whole time the 2 wolves were feeding as the dominant black wolf chased the adult male grizzly into the forest 😂😂😂😂
      Bears are extremely overrated 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
      When wolves have the energy and drive, they can do much more than an adult grizzly bear ever could.
      For example they can't take down adult bison while wolves do this year round. A bear is literally no match for a pack of determined wolves.

A bigger grizzly would kill way more. But that’s just my opinion and I respect your opinion as well, and if you are correct, then he would leave tons of injuries on the other pack members.

People leaving their old soiled camp stoves out and then complaining, "Someone stole my old stove!" (No idiot, the ranger confiscated it.) In Yellowstone we saw the book "Death in Yellowstone" and reveled in the tales of stupidity. It was a good dose of needed Schadenfreude on that trip.
      Most memorable tale from the book:
      A guy drives up in his VW van and swings open the door. Out springs Fido and bee-lines it straight for the hot pools. (Leash laws are for OTHER people!) Fido dives into the beautiful, clear hot pool to be boiled alive. Dog's owner runs over and begins disrobing on the boardwalk. A tourist witnessing the entire thing says, "You aren't jumping in THERE!"
      "LIKE HELL I'M NOT!" as he dives in head first to "save" his dog. Neither were saved that day. Two fatalities were recovered from the hot pool thereafter.

      @@akderekx I didn’t mean they literally reason it out. It’s likely more as you describe. But they know which other animals are prey and which are not. People who go on safari in Africa expecting to see epic battles between predator species are going to be disappointed. If they see a kill at all (also unlikely), it’ll probably be of a prey species. What’s a lot more common when predators meet is what we saw in this case: feint charges, wary circling, and displays of power. Even if there is a fight, it generally ends when one just runs away.

    • @theophrastus3.056
      @theophrastus3.056 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@SupremeSpicey6976 There’s some videos of how coyotes first reacted to wolves being reintroduced to Yellowstone. Their numbers fell until they realized that encounters with wolves often meant a severe injury or death. But now they just avoid their larger canine cousins. You might steal some scraps from a bear when he’s facing away. But a wolf will run down a coyote to retrieve what’s theirs.
      Naturally, that reluctance to fight doesn’t apply in all cases. Lions in Africa of both sexes will go after any painted dogs they encounter. But only male lions will generally go after the larger hyenas. Hyenas who are alone are wary of male leopards. But they’ll immediately charge a female to snatch a kill.
      The animals know the differences, and in some cases, like Yellowstone’s inexperienced coyotes, they learn it the hard way. But, yes, it’s not using reasoning like a human, as you pointed out. It’s more instinct and a visceral reaction.

      You've never seen a feral pig learn NOT to go into a trap once they have witnessed what happens? Once an animal has experienced a trap and lives they aren't ready to make the same mistake again.
      Those are examples of planning, and consequences. They aren't living for the moment.

      I don't have the facts, but I would guess that every year more grizzlies kill wolves. I don't believe its an often occurrence either way, but would still guess the grizzlies kill more wolves, than wolves kill grizzlies. I take nothing away from a wolf pack. They work rock solid as a team and each have a role.

      @@jailepouvoir1990 Those wolves weren't hungry at all lol I've seen smaller packs chase a grizzly off a kill because they were going to get that food or die. If these wolves truly wanted the kill, a pack this size would've been harassing and confusing that bear for 10-20 mins at least until the bear finally realized it wasnt worth it. But you can tell by their demeanor that they have no interest and are essentially just passing thru.

  • @spelunkerd

    I've seen this a few times in Yellowstone, it is very common. The bear will literally sleep on the kill for days. Interestingly, the wolves likely made the kill, then were bumped off the carcass by the bear after they had their initial meal. As fast as a bear can be, it is uncommon for a bear to catch and kill an adult elk. So, bears benefit from the introduction of wolves.

      @widowmakergod4892 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      How do they benefit from no longer needing to hibernate? Something they have evolved to do over 10+thousand years. Wolves leaving carcasses everywhere after only eating the guts is not helping any animal, prey or predators alike.

    • @Ispeakthetruthify
      @Ispeakthetruthify 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@widowmakergod4892 I hope you realize that wolves and bears, have lived side by side with each other for hundreds of thousands to millions of years, right? This is not some new phenomena. Just because humans have eradicated most large predators around the world, with some being reintroduced in some places, doesn't make this scene new. Both species have managed to do just fine, LONG before human intervention really disrupted the ecosystem.
      And you are grossly misinformed if you think wolves just kill animals, and leave then partially eaten. These aren't spoiled kids leaving untouched plates at the dinner table. These are wild animals, that have to kill other animals for everyday survival. They leaving NOTHING to waste. Being driven off of a kill by a larger predator, is completely different from wasting food.

    • @spelunkerd
      @spelunkerd ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@widowmakergod4892 Of course Yellowstone bears still hibernate. And of course wolves will continue to feed on the carcass if they aren't displaced by larger predators. Even coyotes have been able to carefully take advantage of leftover scraps from wolf kills, not to mention ravens, crows, magpies, raccoons, turkey vultures, etc. Within a week the carcass is little more than a bony skeleton, and within a year it is entirely gone.

      You're wrong. The wolves are destroying the elk and deer populations in every state where they have been "reintroduced" and have turned to eating cattle now that their packs have destroyed the natural game. The wolves need to be culled but they are near impossible to hunt.
