@@Odysea72109 For a show? Sure you can argue that because some people don't like CW shows and I get that. But for the entirety of the Arrow-verse? No. This season is at worse top 3 seasons of the entire Arrow-verse.
What about Arrow S1? I cannot believe how many people are disregarding this amazing season. Even in this video, Pagey talks nothing but good about Arrow S1. Then he proceeds to put it in 4th place???
1. Arrow 2. Flash 3. Superman and Lois 4. Legends of Tomorrow 5. Black Lightning 6. Supergirl 7. Batwoman Didn’t see Stargirl. Maybe one day I’ll check it out
Arrow easily beats The Flash. Season 1 of the arrow is not only by far the best Season 1 of the Arrow-verse, it is also debatably the best season of the WHOLE Arrow-verse. Putting the Flash 3 places higher is so disrespectful. The Flash has the exact same formula in almost Every, Single, Episode. The Flash fights the enemy, loses because the plot needs him too. Needs a sappy motivational speech the second time around after he has recovered from the first battle and wins the second fight. Barry has super speed for crying out loud! None of the enemies he fights against would be able to even lay a finger on him! It's understandable maybe for the first few episodes but this pattern not only continues throughout the entirety of Season 1, it continues throughout the entire freaking show! Season 1 Flash was by far the best Season of the flash but this one pattern it set up completely ruined the later seasons of the Flash. There is no universe where Flash Season 1 beats Arrow Season 1.
Season 1 Ranking: 1. The Flash 2. Superman & Lois 3. Stargirl 4. Arrow 5. Legends of Tomorrow 6. Black Lightning 7. Batwoman 8. Supergirl Batwoman and Supergirl are pretty equal to me
My ranking is 8. Batwoman 7. Supergirl 6. Black Lightning 5. Stargirl 4. Superman and Lois 3. Legends 2. Flash 1. Arrow (I like all shows, this is just my opinion and I would love to hear who disagrees and give their opinions, no hate please)
You are the only person that I have seen so far who actually has some common sense. No hate to everyone else but I cannot fathom how almost everyone here is putting The Flash season 1 above Arrow season 1. I could write multiple essays why there is no universe where the Flash beats Arrow. I feel like everyone is just sucking up to the video creator. I love the Flash as a character and all but the creators of the show should have gone in a completely different direction with the character because season 1 of the Flash just sets up the future seasons to be a complete disaster. Most people don't understand this but the problem with later seasons of the Flash started from the very beginning of the show. The Flash fights the enemy, loses because the plot needs him too. The Flash needs a sappy motivational speech the second time around after he has recovered from the first battle and wins the second fight. Barry has super speed for crying out loud! None of the enemies he fights against would be able to even lay a finger on him! It's understandable maybe for the first few episodes because he is new at the whole superhero thing but this pattern not only continues throughout the entirety of Season 1, it continues throughout the entire freaking show! I'm not kidding when I say that some of the edits even in the second episode of Season 1 are so sloppy. The bad guy/guys literally disappear after the Flash has left for like 1-2 seconds to bring a police officer to safety. The Flash comes back and they are literally just gone. They're most likely right outside the building still but for some reason the Flash doesn't zoom out there and super speed hand cuff them all... This happens a lot actually. The Flash for some reason slows down in a lot of his fights for no apparent reason just so the bad guys can either flee or defeat him once to extend the screen time of every episode. And a lot of the time the Flash will let the bad guys do both, specifically in the second episode. The Flash encounters the bad guy/guys for the first time and he let's them flee. The 2nd time he encounters them he let's them beat him down and nearly kill him. The Flash slowing down or letting the bad guys get away for no apparent reason is really done to death. However, despite all of this being said, the first Season of the Flash did have a lot of good aspects to keep it interesting. Good characters, pretty good writing, and an amazing villain. One that could actually contest the hero in a way that makes sense because he also had the exact same overpowered super power, he had a close relationship with the hero, and he had clear motivations that logically made sense. The villain was honestly the best thing about the entire show. Once he left, the entire show dwindled. Season 2 was still pretty good and debatably had higher highs than the first season but it also had much lower lows. The addition of Wally and his mother was so over done and way too much screen time was focused on a plot that not many people cared about. The middle of Season 2 is really where the show started to get super slow and boring. The villain was great but wasn't quite as amazing as the villain from the previous season because he didn't have as close of a relationship with the hero as the previous villain did. That on it's own is fine but considering the best part of Season 2 was the villain... that's saying something. He was a lot more menacing and psychotic but his motivations and goals weren't really there until the final episode. We find out in this final episode that his entire goal was to destroy everyone and everything but one world and conquer it with his super speed? The whole time he just had the same goal as most villains do in any movie or show. Not very original but whatever. Now compare the villain from the 2nd season of the Flash to the villain of the 5th season of Arrow. They are actually very similar but the one thing that makes the villain of Arrow S5 stand out over the villain of the Flash S2 is that the villain from Arrow S5 actually has clear motivation once you find out who he is and what his relationship is to the main character. We find out that previous seasons of the arrow (specifically season 1, go figure) actually have impacts on later seasons in ways that logically make sense. Oliver does a lot of killing in season 1. He learns that he has to become better than that and stops killing as much but some things you just can't take back. The Season 5 villain is clear proof of that. That villain comes back to haunt Oliver and his only goal is to torture him until his final breath out of pure rage and revenge. The villain from the 2nd season of the Flash on the other hand may be more menacing and dangerous but he just didn't have that same connection to the main protagonist as the villain from the 5th season of Arrow did to Oliver. Like I said before, the villain from the 2nd season of the flash was the best part of season 2 so the season didn't have much going for it. If anything it felt like Harry was the protagonist of Season 2 because he was the one who actually had a close relationship with the villain because they were from the same earth and the villain was holding someone Harry cared about hostage. That's not to say the Flash and the new villain didn't have a relationship, it's just that they didn't even know each other until that season and really had nothing in common other than their superpower. Therefore their relationship didn't start building until after season 2 started. I will admit though, the plot twist in this season was pretty amazing and was one of my favorite parts of the entire show. Remember when I said that the middle of Season 2 is where the show started to get slow and boring? Yeah, that was because the villain disappeared for several episodes. This actually happened in Season 1 as well. The main villain kind of just disappeared for several episodes near the end of the Season and the show became slow and boring. Story-wise it made sense but yet again, considering the villain was the best part of both of those seasons of the show... What is the show left with? More villains that don't have overpowered super powers like the hero that somehow defeat the hero multiple times because the screentime needs to be extended. And this pattern just got worse and worse and worse every season. Season 3 is where the show got SUPER boring. Yet again we have this super overpowered villain with the same power as the hero who ends up disappearing for a lot of the middle part of the season to sprinkle in a bunch of boring small time villains to fill in screen time. However this time the villain only exists because of Barry and what he did at the end of Season 2. In fact there's a lot of bad things that happened because of what Barry did at the end of Season 2 therefore he ends up all depressed and apologetic for the entirety of Season 3. It's, Really, Annoying, And, Boring. If Season one and two felt very similar every episode, Season 3 took it to a whole new level. Every single episode feels the same. Near the beginning/middle of Season 3, Barry goes to the future on accident and sees something horrible happen and tries to prevent it from happening the entire season and it's honestly just so dramatic and boring. First of all it has to do with a character that not many people care about because this character specifically starts to become annoying in this season. Secondly, the show is already like a soap opera enough and this event just raises the drama scale up to 10 because not a single episode goes by without them mentioning this event. Yet, Again, It's, Really, Annoying, And, Boring. There's really not much to say about this season other than it is so dull and boring. The Flash gets together with a certain character for the entirety of the season and let me tell you they have absolutely zero chemistry. Their relationship is so boring and the show wastes so much screentime showing these two together and I just want to turn off the show it's that bad. Season 3 of the flash is the reason why I never got around to finishing Season 4. I honestly can't only blame season 3. Like I said before the problem with this show started from the very beginning. Boring side villains and wasted screen time on boring stuff started all the way back in season 1 and it just got worse every season. Every season had some great moments but they became less and less to the point that the show as a whole became unwatchable. It's just that back in season 1 it was less noticeable and there wasn't nearly as much cringe and boring stuff to make us want to turn off the show. But it was still there nevertheless. To say that season 1 of the Flash was amazing is simply disrespectful to the first two seasons of Arrow. I love superheroes but even I have to admit that none of these CW shows were amazing. The only ones that came close were the first two seasons of Arrow. The 1st season of the Flash was good TV at best. Not great, not amazing, just good.
Batwoman's "Off With Her Head" episode was honestly S-Tier, and there was a few banger second-half-of-the-season episodes. But yeah, there are a fair share of mid episodes in the first two seasons where it's clear they've run out of Batman rogues they're allowed to use and get OCs like a corrupt prison warden or "The Terrier" to be the villain of the week. Though I agree that 1st season of Supergirl was the weakest.
Batwoman S1 had the best season villain! with Alice!!!! The star lacked personality, but her connection to the villain was really well done! And Alice was a GREAT VILLAIN!!!
throwing in Stargirl and Superman & Lois, yeah it's not a knock on Arrow to put it at number 4 because Stargirl and Superman & Lois are just SO GOOD. That doesn't mean the Arrow series premiere was bad it just means those other two were REALLY REALLY GOOD
I agree with Supergirl, I would've had Legends after Supergirl before Batwoman, then I agree with the rest of the list until Stargirl and Superman & Lois being above Arrow.
