The biggest mistake was killing off Oliver in the first episode of Crisis only to have him return as some CGI beam shooting from his face guy. He should have been the Paragon of Humanity instead of Ryan Choi (another dumbass decision to add a new last minute character for such an important role instead of focusing on already established characters), so Oliver would represent humanity by fighting without superpowers, only bow and ARROWs and he dies fighting the Antimonitor at the dawn of time. That's how he should have gone out. Not just fighting some ghosts trying to save a universe that ended up being erased anyway.

I hated when they revealed Oliver’s identity as green arrow. Like the FBI chick was portraying him as a bad guy but like, he saved the world from an alien invasion, Nazi invasion, other awesome things, and they still wanted to arrest him!? To me the show runners did it just to put him in prison and that whole scenario. But you could have just sent him there for some reason that involved him being the mayor. And that FBI chick lost her job and sh!t the next season. That whole storyline made no sense to me whatsoever.

Not necessarily putting the blame squarely on DC's shoulders, but definitely WB has been screwing over Green Lantern fans for a decade. They did a massive disservice to the fans who were looking forward to Diggle becoming Green Lantern, and even if his decision not to take on the ring made sense to the character, it was a complete and total cop out. The two main arguments for not having Green Lantern on the show were a)we're saving him for a movie (really, WB? Saving him for what? Certainly not Justice League....prats) b) we can't handle the CG cost it would take to bring GL to the small screen. Well, looking at the amount of CG that was put into those avatars of speed in the 8th and 9th season....the plotline NO actual Flash fan ever asked for....I again have to call BS. WB seems to think their fans are complete idiots, in that the fans can't distinguish between two different Batmen (one on the big screen, one on the small screen) or different Supermen, or two different GL's. One thing that the Arrowverse had going for it was the demand for inclusion.....and I'm sorry but the Lanterns were ALL about inclusion. You had a wealth of different characters you could have brought to the table....Simon Baz, Kyle Rayner, Jessica Cruz, Alan Scott.....and you absolutely blew it on characters that no one was begging for. Really? Chillblaine? Bite me, WB.

Not having Barry stay with Patty so that they could actually commit to killing his girlfriend in season 3 with Savitar.
Not having Laurel be in Central city when the particle excelirator goes off so she could get her canary cry.
Making Caitlin and Frost actually two different people like the Hulk was dumb.
Cisco getting rid of his powers just to continue to go into the field with tech that simulates them.
Not having Harry Wells and Jesse Wells death more of a big deal. I’m pretty sure only Cisco brought it up during an argument with Nash. In all honesty, keeping Nash over those two was a bigger mistake.
Speaking of people who came back, Oliver really a h*e to Quentin and Sara considering he brought back his mom but chose earth 2 Laurel over our Laurel. To be fair though, I’m pretty sure they did that with the mindset that they were still making the spin-off show.

I don’t think Olicity really ruined the show (to be clear, I didn’t care one way or the other about it). I think the biggest issue the show had was that the team got too big and almost all of the members were constantly whining about Oliver (Felicity included). That was what made me turn it off. I thought Felicity had way better chemistry with Oliver than Laurel did, so I didn’t mind them getting together (could have done without all the will-they-won’t-they that dragged on), but once the team just started complaining and backstabbing Oliver, I was done.

Having Cicile on the Flash is the biggest mistake on Arrowverse. #6 The best part of Arrowverse was their teams. But the way Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes left did hurt the show, but not as much as Jessie Martin leaving in the last season. It felt as if the team was dismantled just because there was no Joe and we were stuck with a villain bigger than Reverse Flash a.k.a. Cicile Horten. 11:33 THEY CANCELLED LEGENDS and I can never forgive CW for that. The Arrowverse slowly started going downhill as soon as it became the Arrowverse IMO. Arrow could’ve easily and should’ve IMO just stayed as it’s own self contained thing, same with the other shows. I’m glad they kept Superman and Lois out of the Arrowverse. And butchering Laurel’s character was a total misfire just to push up Felicity from side character who shows up every now and then to becoming a main character. Black Canary’s a really cool character, she should’ve gotten more attention. I’m not necessarily saying Ollie and Laurel should’ve been endgame though I would’ve loved that, just that her character was screwed over in general, even just to bring her back as a variant or I think doppelgänger was the Arrowverse term. Characters like Martian Manhunter who in Arrowverse canon, even Superman himself said is the most powerful being on Earth, even he to a degree would be scared to have to fight J’onn, were way underused though I do fully understand that J’onn could’ve eventually risked becoming a Deus Ex Machina, even risking overshadowing Supergirl on her own series though I personally wouldn’t have cared that much because I’ve always loved the character since the justice league cartoon (mainly because he’s green, my favourite colour). One last thing, I get this was probably a rights issue but that’s not really an excuse because they had a Bruce Wayne actor in Batwoman and even another one through the multiverse. They had the whole thing with Hush stealing Bruce’s identity, that should’ve been reason enough for Batman to come back with a vengeance if he was still alive, was it ever even confirmed what happened to him? Again I get that having Batman in the series would’ve inevitably overshadowed Batwoman in her own series but the show could’ve certainly benefited from the inevitable rise in viewership even just for those one or two Batman episodes, the positives would’ve outweighed the negatives.

A mistake with Legends was making it about Time Travel; like right off the bat. I mean, the entire series was clearly just slapped together in an effort to take all of the ancillary characters from Flash and Arrow that the writers wanted to keep playing with, but didn't have room on those two shows and give them their own forum; yet they had no idea what to do with them. Case in point is the fact that the so-called "pilot" that sold the series was just a demo and then _none_ of that material actually ended up in the first episode (or I think _any_ episode).
They very easily (and I would argue, more to the show's benefit) done the series as a take on "Justice League Dark" and instead of a time machine/space ship, make their base the House of Mysteries. Instead of Arthur Darville playing Rip Hunter, make him the Arrowverse's John Constantine. Nothing against Ryan, but Arthur would have played that part well. Maybe that would have kept him around, as it was disappointing to see him depart.
As Constantine, he could have tricked the other main characters into accepting an invitation into the house of mysteries, which ensnares them in a curse where they become bound to the House in a mystical sense (not trapped inside it, but like, indentured to it). It can travel the world or even through time if they really still wanted to.
Within the show's actual premise, I think it was a mistake ignoring Mick's time as Chronus. I thought that was one of the more brilliant twists of the first season; and they could have given his character a lot of growth, because it would have provided him a lot of accidental intelligence. Here's this goon who just like stealing and setting stuff on fire and he's given the knowledge about physics and time travel centuries ahead of anyone else, besides Rip.
But that was kind of the larger problem for Legends, in my opinion, which was that it kind of relied on the main characters needing to be stupid in order for the plot to work. I mean, look what they did to Ray, for crying out loud. He became a caricature of the character introduced on Arrow. After they established that Gideon could get into the crews' head, I always thought it would have been interesting to find out that that Gideon, unlike the one from The Flash, was malevolent; and was actually manipulating the Legends the whole time, decreasing their intelligence to make them more complaint; and sending them on missions across time in order to manipulate history the way it wanted time to unfold.

Hmmm I genuinely haven't watched any Arrowverse episodes in a long time so I don't have that many fresh opinions about the list although I do agree on some of these but disagree on others.
If I had to make a list of my own, this would be it(This list is not necesseary very realistic)
    1. The way the seasons are structured(except for Legends)
What I mean is that I feel the seasons of each show used their long seasons in very uncreative ways, like I do like filler but atleast I would like if the filler were creative and had some sort of purpose, like if you have so many episodes take advantage of that and expand the story with maybe more character drama or story that not only builds up to the finale but serves purpose through out the seasons. But since I feel like they couldn't do that, I feel like a shorter season would work better.
    2. Ending The Flash
It had to end at some point but come one! There were many ideas left to explore, the characters and story weren't in the right place for the show to end, Eric wanted to adapt more big stories in the future which made the final season so unsatifying because it never were intended to be the final season.
    3. Not adding Comic Heroes/anti heroes to Legends of Tommorrow
I remember the days of wishlist videos of which character to add to the team, Zatanna were one of the most wanted/requested characters I think, a lot of people(including me) were really interested to potentially see Dr.Fate. I feel like the earlier seasons nailed the feeling that I liked the series for, of course I love the goofy but have the goofy with more known comic characters and magic or cosmic powers. I feel the same about villains. Legends of Tommorrow was the show with most potential, while I love it I wish there were different characters that were introduced.
    4. Not adding Wally West to the Legends
I don't know how it was behind the scenes, if Keiynan didn't want or want to appear more or just couldn't. I just think Wally were a very fitting and fun part of the show, I think story wise the way to go would have him be a series regular. Plus it would have added more power to the team.
    5. Removing Hartley Sawyer and not recasting Ralph
The things he used to say were never okay, far from okay but as a trans person I question the firing, did he actually hold those same views? From what I know, no. He had already adressed his past and aplogised and said he don't thinks so anymore, if were gonna fire people for a transphobic past, let's apply it to Candice Patton who also said some nasty stuff about trans people. Ralph were one of my favorite Arrowverse characters and Hartley were one of my favorite cast members(based on performance).
I guess there are some more but I feel like these 5 are the things I genuinely think:)

The build-up leading to nothing like if you're not going to do something then don't lead up to it and promise it and then don't fulfill and even show the green lantern planet in crisis and then don't do anything about it. It was absolutely a waste of time and I was so angry at it
    2. For me and I think most people will agree. The Supergirl finale was just awful. I mean I was expecting so much better but it was just awful for a final episode. There was no climax to it. It was crud.
    3. Frosty's boyfriend. He was utterly pointless. I mean what was the point of him? I think they were trying to fulfill an extra team lender with this guy and he was just pointless. I hated that it was always Supergirl going to earth 1 for the crossovers. I understand why, there's more characters there, and it's easier to have 1-3 characters go to one earth rather than 20 to another, but I felt like they didn't even try. Even for one-off crossovers like how felicity was always on the flash. That's why I was so excited when they were there for crisis, but it just wasn't enough.
I also hate that they've put Superman on an earth of his own. What was the point in setting him up as Supergirl and earth primes Superman just to not do anything with it. 1. I disagree also, they can always put them on the same Earth when they needed to, Earth X, the Dominators etc. So having them on seperate earths didn't make up too much.
    2. I don't think the Green Arrow and the Canaries etc would have kicked off as well. People liked Oliver etc other characters never work as well.
    3. Never watched Supergirl so much so I can't say. One thing I hated was how they changed her outfit and hair.

    9. Batwoman didn't do well, and it suffered. Legends of Tomorrow was a sin.

Happy to see Olicity in the top 3 mistakes. 100% agree. I don't agree with it backing them in a corner. They could have made Felicity "the person in the grave" when they teased someone from the Arrowverse dying. I like Felicity, I like Emily, but killing off Felicity instead of Laurel would have been much better over all.

But my personal opinions on the list-
10.I dont exactly agree on that although I will say they needed to be utilized more in mini crossovers
    9.Yeah I agree
8.Um for someone who started watching in season 2 I always thought the quality was wishy washy it never really stayed mostly great or mostly bad and I cant respond to production values, I guess people mean the cgi, I dont get upset at that stuff like alot of people, to me there is no good or bad cgi.
7.It was a mixed bag, it certainly wasnt a great season but there were a handful or two of cool moments and as mediocre as it was overall it was still better than the movie version.
6.I did complain about teams in the past on other comment boards but tbh when you have like 10, 15, 22 episodes you sort of need teams to balance it out cause focusing on one hero mainly can get boring. My whole issue is sometimes the titular character couldnt beat their own big bad let alone a criminal of the week, the team should be to help out the main hero not win the battle instead of them. The flash show was particularly the worst at that and if they called the show team flash it be different and would make sense the team get to win alot more than just barry.
5.Yeah and it was insulting considering diggle had like an arc where he appeared on idk if it was all the arrowverse shows but alot of them and they didnt really lead to anything in the grand plan and he never became the gl, I would say it was probably saved for that justice U show that never happened but then we hear justice U took place like either on its own world or superman and lois world I forget so its not using the same diggle from the main arrowverse.
4.Yeah I agree on that it just became repetition and mostly just wasting money and time after a while. And the worst part of it is when a show does go on for a zillion seasons, it ends and there is still big questions unanswered.
3.Im indifferent to olicity I dont love or hate it.
2.I havent seen batwoman yet but the legends tomorrow thing Im only slightly irritated we didnt get closure, again there supposedly exists closure in the earth prime comic but I was getting tired of the show by s7 anyway, I felt that too ran its course.
1.Im also indifferent to that especially that we got another version, what I found more odd is in the arrow series finale oliver uses his spectre power to bring back quentin, his mom, tommy but he dont bring laurel back and even quentin tells laurel 2 that is fine with him so I found that bizzare.

Supergirl got too political, and Arrow and Flash got repetitive.

With #4 I feel like if the seasons would’ve been like 6 episodes shorter then the amount of seasons would’ve been fine

These all apply to the flash
    Letting Eric Wallace write anything
Mixing the flash up with starwars
The amount of side characters its not called the cecile or the iris ITS THE FLASH DAMMIT
Somehow giving normal speed people the ability to defeat a speedster
Overusing tom cavanaghs reverse flash matt should have been alot more involved
When carlos valdes left barrys reliance on star labs should have diminished of course Caitlin would still be barrys freind so if she showed up regularly it would make sense but no need for Chester
The amount of filler episodes in the final season its already a shortened season ffs not to mention the LAST😮

I agree with number 6. I'm okay with teams with arrow but flash and supergirl doesn't need a team.

Which individual decisions were the worst are up for debate, but overall the writing really just fell off a cliff for every show after the first few seasons of Flash. There were maybe a few good episodes of shows here and there, but the early season of arrow and flash were what really allowed them to expand the universe to all the other shows in the first place, and then everything just got progressively worse from that point on.

In terms of the shows longevity, Arrow and Flash "ran too long" after their respective season 2. Although that's maybe disingenuous to the extent that, the later seasons would have been fine if the writing hadn't taken a dive; but maybe that's the same thing. If the writing standards can't be maintained, has a show run out of steam or run its course?
On the other hand, there's arguably no reason either show should have taken the dip in quality it did; and I think that's the thing that's most frustrating. I remember, it was maybe during Flash season 6 or 7 or something, catching a random clip on youtube from Flash season 1, which was the first time seeing stuff from the first season in a long time; and it caught me off guard, because I had gotten used to what The Flash had become and I was like, "oh yeah, holy shit, this show was _so good._ What the hell happen?"
And I think it's the to the same point with the Supergirl quality issue. I'd maybe question whether the actual production value of things like sets or effects was significantly different, but the writing wasn't great - but I'd also argue that the writing for Supergirl wasn't great in season 1 either. There's a reason CBS didn't keep it going; why they did a Hail Mary bringing the Flash on towards the end of the first season; and did a soft fold of it into the Arrowverse for season 2. It was already on par with the direction of the writing for the other Arrowverse shows; and was under the same overarching creative direction. The same thing can be said about Legends.
I did not have high expectations for Arrow going into the first episode after 10 years of Smallville (at least 5 of which left me a bit disillusioned). Yet, it did win me over right out of the gate. Then they made The Flash work. But something happened not long after that, where the stories just weren't as compelling. It was like they were resting on their laurels. They overused certain villains and plot premises. They over-relied on the serial arc, to the point where they knew immediately who the season big bad was going to be and spent 7-8 months treading water, in order to have the final showdown in the season finale; and the failure to stop them in the interim just made the characters look incompetent. They needed better pacing, and they desperately needed the benefit of more one-off, stand alone episodes that could explore the characters, give them growth and give the season arc a rest. Buffy the Vampire Slay helped popularize the serial format, but Buffy at its best was when it had a blend of serial and episodic episodes.
They also leaned too hard into the campiness. You can't avoid it entirely, but you have to be careful or it will consume the narrative, like it ultimately did with Legends.

Killing Sara was a mistake. I don't care how it played out with her eventually coming back and the whole "legends" thing. First off, Legends of Tomorrow became such a frickin' joke. That's its own separate entry, of course.
But the nailed the live action depiction of Black Canary on the first try... and then they kept trying to improve it. And it did not work.
With the first season of Arrow, they punted on their depiction of Dinah by making her "Laurel," with basically no foundation for her eventually become the Black Canary. As it turns out, when tried to give her that story, the writers weren't up to the task; they didn't know what to do with Laurel, so they kill her off, bring on Dinah, don't know what to do with her, bring on another Laurel.... it was a mess. More importantly though, they didn't need to do any of that. Caity killed it. I much preferred her black costume over the "White Canary" look.
Like, make her the leader of "Team Arrow," doesn't matter if Ollie's still on the team or that the team is named after him; he was arguably a bad leader, if a good hero and Sara had what it takes to be a good leader, but deserved better than being the leader of the Keystone Time Cops. And while I'd much prefer a comic accurate pairing of Green Arrow and Black Canary (especially since I despised Oliver and Felicity; and frankly never cared for Sara and Ava) I could make my peace with Oliver and Sara not being end game - even if she had the best chemistry with Oliver than anyone else they tried to pair him with.
