Out of New Mexico I'm going to replace both head gaskets on my oldest son's 2006 jeep commander tomorrow morning that I and my wife gave him for all the accomplishments that he has achieved in life as a young man. I watched your video and it definitely will help me to know what's going to take place on this project. Thank you for sharing your experience 😊!
How’d that project go? Someone i know is selling their 06 commander for a good price. 150k miles. It does need a new gasket for one of the heads. Thinking if the vehicle is worth the time or not
@freightcoordination1019 I did replace both head gaskets and had the heads both resurfaced all new gasket kit on top of the engine and a complete toon up and a new electric throttle body installed and it's got plenty of horsepower, and he's getting 22.8 miles per gallon out on the highway, and 16.9 miles per gallon in town.
Before you did this, hope you swapped out the coil pack for #7 to a different location to see if the misfire moved along with it - also check those plugs as there are 2 per cylinder and this engine gets crabby if you use anything but the Champion 570s. Nice video though!
I think I may have a head gasket issue. I also have to replace my exhaust manifold gasket, it almost looks just as easy to remove the head to get to the exhaust manifold with broken bolts

What a great job of demonstrating how to repair the head gasket! Keep us the excellent content.
You got it.

Awesome video, please make more Jeep Commander videos.

My thoughts exactly 😅
@ 7:25 Probably wasn't a head gasket issue. It was probably that broken intake manifold gasket @ 5:20 letting in a little more air (vacuum leak).
The cylinders were super clean. Usually means coolant was getting there and steam cleaning the combustion chamber. But I could be wrong.
Good job man I’m fixing my jeep commander and this helped me a lot priciate it brother question what where your torque on the rocker arm
What is the head bolt torque and the rocker arm bolts torque specs and cool video it makes my job on my hemi look easy
So you don’t have to set the timing chain before doing head gaskets on these 5.7’s?
👍 job! Guys
Love it! Thank you!
What symptoms did you have
Is this the same concept for all commander engines?
What is the music in the background? It's great.
How'd you get that second bolt on the exhaust manifold?? I can't even feel the end of it.
We used a small mirror and a lot of patience
The mirror did not help very much
Veeeery long extension and go from below the jeep. Slide the extensiom beyween the exhaust pipe and front axle housing
Link for where to purchase quality head gasket kit for Jeep 5.7 HEMI???
Thanks
Did you ever get it running ? Was that a used piston and rod assembly ?
I have one I would love for you all to sit there and do the same thing to it what's the cost

Did it resolve the issue
Yes.
👍 job guys!
Either a broken intake manifold or lifter and cam issue.
Isn't that gasket ur misfire?
Where is the video with the start up and engine running from all the hard work
Great video just needs more instruction and dialog
Didn't get to hear it start.
Next time remove cross brace is only 2 18mm nuts much easier
