thak you for the easy to follow guide. been wrenching/restoring/rebuilding for decades, but nice to see someone who know what they are doing (as evidenced by the cleaning of the seal faces, bolt tightening paterns, etc) do it once, first.
I wanna thank you for making this video it has been so helpful I have to replace the water pump and the thermostat housing lol I am a fan thanks again 😊
It was a domino effect The water pump was leaking around the shaft that connects to the pully. Change the water pump, new water pump was why stronger that the old one so it increased the water pressure in the system. Then the new stronger water pump blew out the side of my radiator, replace radiator then my heater core springs a leek, Change heater core everything's good for a week and one day I see a Coolant pool up at the back of the jeep so I'm like grate now I have a blow seal somewhere and I'm leaking Coolant in the exhaust, not I didn't know there was a rear heater core for the 3rd row for the rear air. And that is the domino effect
The main pulley comes on the new one, the smaller one has a plastic cap that you pop off. Under the cap is a star bolt to remove the smaller pulley and transfer it over to the new pump.

Any troubles with the duralast pump?
Nicely Done! Where did you find the torque settings for the pump and tensioner ?
Off a pdf on a wk forum
@@beaushow319 u mean xk. nice.
What part number for heater hose attached to water pump. Mine did not slid out like yours so annoying
What was the symptoms for needing it? Overheating when sitting still but cools off once driving?

I hate this Jeep, 112,000 miles and shit keeps happening. Hoping the new water pump stop the overheating and then selling it for sure
Prob head gasket though with my luck, have 280,000 on my Sequoia and prob done a fifth of the work
So how you get the pulley to come off the old one and on the new one
The main pulley comes on the new one, the smaller one has a plastic cap that you pop off. Under the cap is a star bolt to remove the smaller pulley and transfer it over to the new pump.

Why the distilled water 💦

Why are you using metric sockets for an American car???
Good question ask Chrysler
When do they not use metric......the 80s?
Most cars, even if manufactured in the US, are made with foreign parts. That is the reason they have metric bolts.

How did you get the pulley off of the old pump to put on the new one? Mine has a t45 socket but it seems to be seized.
My pump came with a new pully
The main pulley comes on the new one, the smaller one has a plastic cap that you pop off. Under the cap is a star bolt to remove the smaller pulley and transfer it over to the new pump.
is that a lift kit or just larger tires??
It's both
@@beaushow319 how many inches are the tires and how many inches is the lift kit looks great
31 inches tires with 2.5 in the front and 1 in the back
You know, when I give the clerk at AutoZone my VIN number or the correct part number, they never give me the wrong part
Then you have a good auto zone that must be nice. I give them mine every time 1 out of 3 time they some how screwed it up
what is the part # for that water pump with the temp sensor? I need one but i cant find it at autozone
So depending on your year mine has a temp sensor on the water pump
@@beaushow319 its a 2006 5.7 L limited
You should be able to see it on the side of the pump
