"I was really just waiting for all of these people to die, so it would be done" lol
I know those types of movies all too well.
“It looks like she combed the top of her hair with a chicken bone.” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Josephhhhhh I almost choked on my water. 😂😂😂😂
It's so funny because I've had curly hair my whole life and I know EXACTLY what he is talking about. It takes years and years learning how to cut and style your hair and you go through some UGLY phases. At least we all did back in the day, before the Internet and TH-cam videos. Kids today have it so easy, we had to walk so they can run...years of tears and bad haircuts and standing in the bathroom with gel and mousse and a pick and a straightener that doesn't work and coming out with hair looking like ramen noodles or fried to hell or crispy curls or whatever until you figured it out. My point is, I can sympathize lol.
That has to be the best hair roast of 2024. I almost spilled my coffee this morning.
Somebody said jason vorhees will be sending out Cease and desist letters😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ooooooo the way I rolled my eyes at the art girlies talking about "the beautiful cinematography and nature being a character" 🙄. GIRL! I just watched a man walk for 45 minutes! Ain't enough cute trees to override A MAN WALKING FOR 45 MINUTES!
I introduced my son to Halloween and I'm like "look, before we start, I want you to understand that this movie is very good but it's also just a lot of people walking". And then, during the movie he would say "and we're walking and we're walking" every time we were following Laurie or Michael 🤣🤣🤣 We both love that movie but dang, it's a lot of walking.
@@abbysweat9202 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!! Kids are the best! There was a ton of walking in Halloween, but I never felt bored because there was actual character development along with a realistic story. In this film, this behemoth is the only one walking FOR FOUR SCORE AND SEVEN YEARS AGO and I'm like "would you hurry up so I can go home?"
@@nightangel3578 🤣🤣🤣
There was so much walking, I felt like I was watching Lord of the Rings again.
"Gore hounds who like lethargic walks in the woods" 😂
He picks one guy up like his Hermes bag 😂😂😂 I laughed out loud for real.
😂😂😂
Snap❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Only you Joseph, only you would say that and that's why I love Fish Jelly reviews lol
“Johnny, Walker” is too funny and accurate 💀 Loved the yoga kill; it was ridiculous. And that log splitter kill took too damn long. Got to a point that it felt like watching paint dry.
The women in the truck is Lauren Taylor who played Vickie in Friday the thirteen part 2
She was very good. Just wish that scene had a better payoff. Was expecting an homage to Pamela voorhees.
"I've had that problem myself" lmaoo what is wrong with Nick!!!! 11:00
I wish I had that problem... 🥁🎉
Hahahahha
"He looks like a normal person who's been through it" I'll never have the stomach for this movie but I sure love hearing you talk about it!!!!
Footsteps, The Movie!
sad to hear this didn't completely work for you guys! i thought i was going to hate it when i saw it last night but i had the entire theater to myself and the walking soothed me in a weird way and i enjoyed the ending too! thanks as always for your reviews.
probably my favorite reviewers/critics as of recent- i always catch myself watching your poll quotes, then see the movie, then come back and finish watching the review 😂
My prayers have been answered 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yall are awesome!!
YASSS!! My two favorite queens! Thank u for this review. Love u both. Happy pride, fellow gays ♥️
Joseph, you describing that hair was a whole comedy routine 😭😭😭
Spoilers
The forest ranger kill was probably meant to be the most excruciating death in the movie. I was surprised Jonny didn’t just put him balls first to prolong the agony and add to his humiliation. Nevertheless, I found that death to be the most disturbing because the ranger was still conscious.
did you boys reviewed the coffee table? very dark comedy from spain.
The yoga scene was the centerpiece of the film loved it
Me thinking now "Walker Texas Ranger" lol
I was sold on the premise back when I first watched the trailer. Saw it last night and pretty dissapointed with it😆 The movie lost steam rather quickly- also, a TON of missed opportunities, imo. I'm still confused on the origin story of Johnny, even after hearing you talk about it, lol. I agree the acting was pretty awful, which i don't think was intentional. The dudes all looked the same as well. I'm baffled as to why it was set in modern time instead instead of the 80s, given it's influence and all🤷🏻♂️ A lot of the scenes played out like a spoof of a slasher, especially the park ranger scene🤦🏻♂️ Them taking baby steps toward Johnny after shooting him was stupid as hell! All the kills set to the peaceful sounds of mother nature felt akward af! And Dufuq was that truck scene!? Was really testing my patience! I perked up a bit thinking we'd get a Mrs. Voorhees-esque twist during that scene, but instead found myself drifting toward the exit sign as it went on...and on...and on...
On a positive note, I will say the shooting location and cinematography was (mostly) well done. That's about it🤷🏻♂️👎🏻
The only performance that can compete with Betsy Palmer's is Crispen Glover's dance in part 4 😂
I saw this in theaters with my boyfriend and I enjoyed the cinematic experience and the shots and angles and I was very intrigued from seeing everything from the killer’s perspective. It was definitely a slow burn movie and the walking went on foreverrr 😂 but, the kills were wild especially for the blonde, yoga girl OMG 😳 it was so violent and I’ve watched loads of slasher films and that was wild. I do agree the characters weren’t very memorable and I didn’t care for any of them to have justice because they were just “filler” to me. One scene that I liked was the shot of Johnny making the car alarm at the cabin and there’s a 360 degree shot of him circling around the cabin, I thought that was cool. The ending was odd and I seriously thought the elderly woman was the bad guy lol. It did make me paranoid something was gonna happen to the final girl.
I watch several movie reviewers but I find myself checking your reviews first. 👌 keep it up guys. Its not just the review itself but the actual commentary you add lol great stuff
I was so confused why he was able to pull that damn head through her torso while using her stiff ass legs for leverage! Rigor mortis don’t kick in that quick, girl.
I walked by some baby’s breath today while walking my dog and I thought, “who decided this weed would look good mixed with roses?” Tonight is the last showing of this movie in my city and I think I’ll just stay home. Thank you for your service!
I actually don't mind artsy films and I LOVE horror movies, but I fell asleep at some point in this movie 😅 Not even the "yoga kill" scene could save this flick. Definitely should have waited for it to be on Shudder so I can fast forward through some of the slow paced walking scenes.
i think this is the best quote from any podcast or video i've heard in a long time: "it looks like she combed the top of her head with a chicken bone and then she had like baby's breath behind it". 🤣🤣🤣
Not baby’s breath!!! 😩😩😩
Do you guys recommend any high quality slashers that are a little more high concept… all I can come up with is sleep away camp and the burning?
Love y’all’s takes and recommendations!
Yes great idea would love to hear their take on this because I think Joseph said he’s a horror fan.
I was hoping you would review this one! I was interested but I think I’ll just wait for streaming. The much talked about Yoga kill scene for some reason makes me nervous but I’m also a Scream/Friday the 13th fan. Sounds like it could make those villains blush 😳
That kill scene yoga chick made my soul uneasy!!
I'm not into slashers. So I would pass on this one even if it was good. Joseph your comment about baby's breath was too funny. You guys have such random thoughts that do end up being germaine to the conversation. Also I've said it once and I will say it again. Someway somehow you guys need to make babies. LOL!
Love yall reviews! Best review of this movie I've seen
It sounds like Friday the 13th meets A Ghost Story meets No Country for Old Men
Ya the acting and choices were terrible. A few good kills though. If the cop is already paralyzed, why kill him like that if he won’t feel it ? lol
Yay! So be glad y’all reviewed this movie 🥳🥳
I saw it, and I just want my time back. I planned to see it streaming at first, but I really miss sitting in theaters & eating my concession faves. I hoped it wouldn't be so bad, but let's say I've seen better movies in those special bargain bins for $2 & up. Great review, FJF😕💛💛
“Johhny, Walker” - outstanding! This won’t happen, but if this movie were to get the Star Wars treatment & is retroactively updated years from now, they have to use that.
I liked how Johnny was more... sadistic in his killing (like how he showed the paralyzed man the workings of the wood splitter before using it on him), but overall I was unbelievably bored. I can respect the decision to mainly focus on the killer and the environment, but honey, I did not sign up to watch a killer get in 100,000 steps. It's a no for me. This is right up there with Skinamarink for me. I do not recommend AT ALL.
I left during the wood splitter scene
@@erikchristensen822 I don't know what this says about me, but that was my favorite scene.
My favorite part of your reviews is when Joseph goes off on the hair styles! (fucking hilarious and oddly fascinating). I've been waiting for you guys to review this stupid ass movie and you guys did not disappoint. I love horror movies but slasher / splatter movies are the Bro Country of the genre. First Late Night With The Devil was frustratingly horrible, badly written, badly acted (overall) so not going to see this one but looking very forward to seeing LONGLEGS. Oh, and thought Nick was going to mention that the talky woman at the end was Lauren Marie Taylor who faced off against Jason Voorhees in one of the Friday the 13th movies (2 I think) and kind of a scream queen chick.
My favorite critics ❤
Thank you I’m so happy you guys reviewed this because I am not a fan of mindless gore except when it’s fun. It does sound extremely boring. And I love me an 80’s slasher. I’m a huge horror fan but this doesn’t sound fun at all lol. 😂you guys are my favorite 🤩 💕
The second body's top part looked so fake, it briefly took me out of it but I loved it
Hold up lol Jacob said he was trying to not be mean by saying babys breath instead of dry and ugly.. yet he said it looks like the gurl combed her hair with a chicken bone😂😂😂
Hmmmm, well, at least it sounds like they put some creativity into how they got rid of characters....
Warped violence , a key component in entertainment. 😓
I don't understand how someone who loves slasher movies could make a movie that takes almost all the fun out of slasher movies.
Why do yall remind me of the “mean gays” on tik tok videos 😂😂 they so funny
Ive seen reveiws about how its innovative taking the killers perspective
Not really, there is that great tracking shot in Halloween 2 following Michael in the street
And, there is The Terminator which is fully from the perspective of Arnold save for the story elements of Sarah and Reece
I think someone can take this novelty into something better
You can always play the Friday 13 videogame
We never got to hear Nick’s opinion on why the yoga scene didn’t work. 😢
Entertaining review. Definitely a pass for me.
This should have been a short film, or part of an anthology horror film. I was going crazy with boredom in the last ten minutes in that truck. Ugh.
Great review! Please review Longlegs.
You guys gave the best most accurate review of this movie, it has some interesting over the top kills, bout' it for me.
Y’all react to Strangers Chapter 1 yet? 👀
No
The list is a little longer for Halloween season I guess. This, with such "creative kills" and apart from the "hair issues" and thinking those were "victims" that got what they deserved...it got walking a whole new respect for stalking choices!
I love u guys sm
Finally
Good review! 😂😂
How did Joseph's voice become so raspy?
This is an unpopular opinion but I thought that this was one of the best films of the year so far for me. I’m a huge slasher fan and I felt that this was a throwback a lot of those 80s slashers. I actually liked the car ride scene since we’ve been following Johnny for the majority of it and a lot of people are compared this to skinamarink but I didn’t think it was that experimental at all, I say that as a good thing because I hated skinamarink and I really want a blu ray of this to come out in the near feature. I dug this quite a bit compared to others.
I agree, the car ride scene was super tense I was just waiting for the worst to happen
What the fk lol…best movies of the year? Yowzers. Only memorable thing was the yoga kill. Had me squirming. Rest was dragged out walking simulator. Really stretched that run time.
I loved In A Violent Nature. Some of the kills were original and very gory.
Can someone in the comments tell me a movie review in which nick and Joseph said that they loved the movie, all the reviews I've seen are either them saying that a movie is ok or bad. I'm actually so curious
If you look at Letterboxd, Nick has given 4-5 stars to thousands of films.
@@fishjellyfilmreviews thank you for the answer ❤️
1:04 Satis foi 😂
I like movie I enjoyed it I never felt relaxed watching horror movie Johnny was confused he thought guy had his necklace he kills peopel just to have necklace back I’ve seen worst death in terrifier , hills have eyes , wrong turn series it was good almost original movie was very peaceful for horror movie
It’s natures point of view ❤
🪝⛓️🪝
Y’all don’t like anything 😂
"Johnny... I Kinda Wish: A Walk Thru da Woods" 🏕🔮😮🪄
Saw this one in theatres...besides the yoga scene, snooze 😦🥱
