About the “quiet kitty”, Sam’s cat is a service animal. One of the most emphasized qualities that service animals are trained to have is the ability to remain calm and quiet in chaotic loud situations and environments. Also service animals are trained to sense when someone is having anxiousness, so it explains why the cat is drawn to Eric.
Wow. Well thank you for that explanation. I could never imagine a cat to be trained to be quiet and calm. So thats so interesting. My Winston is such a chatterbox he would get me killed first and anyone who dares gets near him;well he would meow them back into reality and have them killed as well lol.
@@aidaflores6024 yeah it’s one of the first things a service dog or cat is tested for in order for the animal to be trained extensively, because they have to be calm and not reactive when their owners have anxiety attacks or get put under pressure.
I'm glad you mentioned that because I was about to say how the cat almost gets everyone killed at the start of the film but then is dead quiet somehow otherwise. I don't know why the guy risked his life to go save a cat that was just fine. It would have made it back on it's own without his "saving". It's also good to know that his buddy decided to suicide after said risking of life to get her medicine. Her quest to go find pizza single-mindedly in a hellscape is ridiculous
Bleak on Bleak Crime...😂😂😂 Wait a minute...the cat doesn't make a sound? When I saw the trailer, I thought for sure they were going to dose the kitty with Benadryl for the whole movie!! That's crazy!

While cats can be therapeutic animals, they are not legally recognized as service animals. At least according to Google.

She made a point that they don't really eat the people, just kill them so maybe their food source landed on earth, idk. The scene where he reads her poem about dying made me tear up. Ok so i saw this in August last year at a test screening and loved it. i believe they said the cut we saw was like 108 minutes so obviously its been trimmed. I might have blanked out during the review but was there a gay couple in the film that Lupita and Joseph stayed the night with in this film or were they cut. because the scene with them was so damn beautiful and I hear no one mentioning it online.

This is a prequel. Usually in prequels you get more of an insight on the origins. There waa no real explanation on where the creatures are from, how did they get there exactly. We saw what seemed to be meteors in the sky, and I suppose that's how they got on earth, but that still leaves a loop hole! Lupita was cool!!
Everyone criticizes the cat situation and it definitely makes sense.....however sometimes it's just fun in a "scary" movie to have a cool pet. Not everything has to be perfect...but I get it and if that takes folks out of their immersion then that's not good. I for one was able to stay immersed and loved the cat. In general loved the psychology of the characters and that they actually made me care. I have seen most of the new horror films this year and they have been mostly terrible with terrible character work. This was Oscar worthy in comparison lol.
I've been waiting on this review!!! And for the record I love cats and pizza and Lupita is damn near perfect in everything so it's a must see regardless 😜
Thanks for always being honest with your reviews!! I think these movies need to bump up to rated R so we can actually have some real horror. PG-13 horror just never works for me because it feels limited.
The movie would have been a lot smoother if Alex Wolff stayed alive and filled the role and character arc that Joseph Quinn played because I was not feeling the chemistry between him and Lupita at all.
Hi Joseph & Nick!👽You guys nailed the review again and are so correct!❤Already saw the movie...What a big disappointment and not impressed as the trailers are very misleading and show all the action in the movie already. There are so many things that don't make any sense in the movie. Eric shinning the flashlight directly at the aliens numerous times and never turning off the flashlight....how do they even know the aliens are blind? Samira constantly going outside in the streets to hang out, relax and chill...what is she asking for an instant death? Samira and Eric both taking the cat underwater two different times, the first time for quit a long time, that cat would have been dead, but it never dies and never makes a sound through the entire movie. There is no way any animal would never make a sound. The movie did not take place on one day, because Samira and Eric are spending so much time together and sleeping at night. How many days passed by the time the movie ended? And there is still one boat left in the water and all the other boats are completely gone. Eric's character/personality is a mess. Eric's character did not need to be this way. And the cat was completely useless and not needed.🎥
I genuinely enjoyed this movie so much that I went to see it twice with different friends. I completely believe that a terminal person with nothing to lose would basically say Eff it, Imma die anyway, so I’m gonna go get my favorite pizza for my last meal. In such dire circumstances where there is little hope for survival, I believed her. I even believed that two people in such circumstances could build such a fast and strong bond. The one criticism I have is that a couple of their scenes dragged on too long (the scene in her Harlem apartment and the scene at the lounge with the piano). The one “I wish” thought is, I wish we’d seen more of the military’s response to the aliens and more of the people’s process of figuring out they needed to be silent/ the aliens couldn’t swim. They seemed to figure that out SO fast and I just don’t think that’s realistic.
Shout out to Garth Brooks! 😆 I enjoyed this movie. But I feel the exact same way. Plus, the implication that the military knows that sound distracts the aliens. So why not lure the monster with sound into a slaughter fest? Have that not work for some reason and then carry on. It just felt like a massive plot hole right from the beginning. And fucking cat. Unrealistic! Lol.
I'm late to the post BUT anyways so I really had high hopes for this film bc the other 2 were really great films n writing. It seemed to be just very fast moving film. I thought it would be more story telling on how this all happens. It annoyed me within hours they knew the weakness of the aliens etc.. They should have said everyone come in small groups OR had military come and try to evacuate what they can. Military seemed like chickens ...I saw no military anywhere to help evacuate. I didn't like that we focused on the usual NYC. In the 2nd film the shots and dialog was amazing n seeing how the town reacted to this all of a sudden alien attack. That was shot much better. The cat was just too much for me and the pizza conversation I was over it after an hour. I kinda wished the 2 kids stayed as like a foreshadowing of the kids in the previous movie. I didn't quite like the female character like yes ur dying but u don't need to not care about anyone else. Accept ur damn pizza. Even as the world falling apart ... she still cared about herself.
I hadn't seen the other quiet places so I assumed Eric was a character that was in the later films and that's why we didn't get much backstory on him because it's covered in the movies. But I guess not. I didn't get what was motivating Eric to want to follow her around and help her. Was it a romantic attraction? Maybe I'm just too cynical and I expect some ulterior motive.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I HAD TO GO TO THE BATHRROOM 😭😭😭 What happened when everyone (the crowd) was walking to the boats? I came back with the guy coming from under water and breathing heavy
Basically the giant crowd of people started making a bunch of low noise (including a guy with a broken-wheeled suitcase) which triggered an attack. Lupita ran around hiding from them under a car, the cat disappeared in the chaos, and lupita almost got squished by the car but managed to make it out in one piece. She stumbles her way over to an alleyway where she hides. That’s when Nick emerges from the flooded subway and finds the cat. Hope this helps!
But in part 1, the alien dove under water when the basement was flooding, quite expertly, which threw me off in part 2 when they were afraid of water. Am I buggin? Did anyone else see that in part 1?
I watch a lot of movie review channels and this is the first time you guys showed up in my search. Your channel description of "Gay Homosexual" was hilarious to me. Well, as a "straight heterosexual" man you have a new follower. I agreed with everything you two said. I loved the first two movies and was beyond excited for this prequel. Plus the trailers made it seem action packed. However, as you both stated, literally all of the action was in the trailers. lol This movie was a snore fest and the trailers were beyond misleading. The only redeeming grace was Lupita.
It's not often we see cats used this way in movies because dogs are easier to train. However, a dog would have been barking and growling in this apocalyptic situation, so the cat was a good choice. That said, while quieter than dogs, cats still have their meowing times. My cat is talkative, so I'd have been dead, lol!
Though I enjoyed your review, I’m not sufficiently compelled to see this. The only thing that might tip the balance is the opportunity to watch Lupita’s performance.
Even knowing how less actiony this movie is i too will still go n watch for Lupita. I wonder if she takes some inspiration from her Black Panther friend who was suffering from cancer during filming. If no lupita i would wait for streaming.
@@rogermazuca4582 Keke Palmer in Nope… It’s a totally well meaning oversight. Lupita does a phenomenal job in this movie but it should never be forgotten 2022 was the year black women not only dominated the horror genre and each one were box office hits as well. (And the Jordan Peele and Lupita side by side bringing US to a 70M opening was amazing to witness)
Very disappointing movie .. Was hoping for World War Z kind of epic grandeur after seeing the trailer but it becomes a tear jerker with lots of cringy attempts at tear jerking ... First disappointment, there are no new interesting revelations about the aliens despite the movie being a day one movie, instead it becomes a haunted house tour where the aliens are reduced to jump scare actors .. Secondly, cheap jumpscares really cheapens the movie, usually such jumpscares are used to fill a very simplistic vacant story plot .. there are quite a few in the movie .. Thirdly, there is absolutely no chemistry between the two leads except very out of nowhere cringe teary moments. They are suddenly buddies without any organic buildup at all ... the male lead especially feels cringy as he's looking at her all teary from the first meeting, like what the ... kind of too wimpy weird ... they should go with the first hospice guy as the male lead, as he has tons more charisma and chemistry with the female lead from the get go. A lot of forced plot details that do not feel believable, like the cat somehow finding its way back to her by coincidence and she's not even that emotional when she sees her pet appear. The cat not meowing the whole time just to ensure it stays alive till the end. Her life story hardly moves me because her recollection of her past is done so poorly in such a vague way ..... She meets some kids and tells them to follow the crowd, like its supposed to be interesting ? Its such a lifeless mish mash of zombie tropes ... really disappointing ...
Although Lupita might make the movie watchable for me, the basic concept makes no sense. There's these aliens who have the technology to cross the galaxy, but they personally hunt down humans like they're rabid animals? And they have no technology to hunt humans without sound (e.g. heat-seeking)? And of all the planets in the galaxy to choose, they want the one that's three-quarters water, though they don't like it? That last one is the same dumb idea that Shamalan's Signs had.
snooze fest to me... this movie is just following the same premise as the prev 2 movies and doesn't add anything new... i feel that the movie would have been much better and interesting to see how ppl adapted to survive starting from day 1... i would imagined the movie would go like this: initially when the aliens invaded nobody knew their weakness and are attracted to loud noises.. so naturally everyone would be screaming and running around making heck lot of noise... but because there are more people than aliens at that time so the aliens cannot kill everyone who make noise... instead they prioritized on killing the loudest ones... so i imagined ppl start to realize that the loudest ones get killed first they learned to keep quiet... and over time more and more gets killed until there are more aliens and humans and the remaining survivals know how critical it is to remain silent to survive...
Our own cat would have us killed in two seconds. 😂

I couldn't get that mass of people migrating either. I would not be in that mass.
Support cats are magical I guess.
I was also wondering why she didn’t scream when he was running in the port… like you want to die and you want him to escape so….. just scream
I thought she was going to but I think they didn't want to redo the scene with the dad from the first movie
@@destined2bebossy yeah that clicked too but idk she could have sang lmao she was just like make it come on! While he was being chased lmao
@@thatbasicthespian861 thank you sooo much!!
@@Aa__aa374 of course :)
But in part 1, the alien dove under water when the basement was flooding, quite expertly, which threw me off in part 2 when they were afraid of water. Am I buggin? Did anyone else see that in part 1?
A Very Noisy & Boring Place would have been a more appropriate title
I believe the cat being quiet more than a baby being quiet (unless they sedate him 24 hours )
However, as you both stated, literally all of the action was in the trailers. lol
This movie was a snore fest and the trailers were beyond misleading. The only redeeming grace was Lupita.
My mom noted the same thing about the tie …it never comes off lmaoo
I had to google to make sure the cat made it. I'm gonna go see this then watch the review. Was it good ??
I'm not really interested in a Quiet Place movie that doesn't feature the family from the first two :/ But still a great review!
they told us absolutely nothing new about the origins of the aliens😒..apart from a few tense moments & a few tear jerkers ,totally boring..
Ok. I love the Janet t shirt! Did you catch her on tour this time around? She was amazing as she always is🙌🏿
Such a let down, the first two movies were amazing, authentic, maybe redundant at times but they were great. This one is a HUGE let down!
yeah i had a feeling it would be bad... i still say a quiet place should have just been ONE movie. first movie was epic. second was ok... third... 👀
Hello again handsome gentlemen! Will you be reviewing The Devil's Bath?
It’s on our list.
@@fishjellyfilmreviews thank you

The last blockbuster genre film led by a black woman would be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Unless you would consider The Little Mermaid a genre film.
Imagine if you had a baby. You'd have to either abandon it or die.
@@edwinv196well that’s a quiet place one
I was looking for yall movie review ❤
So no one is going to comment on Rhythm Nation and Bald Ripley tees 😅? Nice choices for visual references.
Addendum: I'm typing this with an Amazon tablet. So please excuse any typos.
So she gets kills at end smh bc of the cancer but nit cancer the alien. But she let the alien take her out not cancer.
I was expecting more lore
I just went to see it this morning and I was a bit disappointed. I was rooting for the cat. 🐈
This movie was boring not gonna lie
ur tripping
real
Blessings para el Moreno and his soul mate, Latina de Corazon, Hugs from PR 💜💜💜
Yeah, him not taking his tie off drove me crazy too.
Disappointed in the film
I just watched last night I called it the perfect romantic dark comedy ♡
One thing I did not like was all the cut to black at the end of a scene
my gents , love the shirts per usual need prince top , my man looks like colin from the boys great review gents chris from uk manchester keep it up ❤❤
AMS’s Interview of the Vampire series review plzzzz!! Saw that S1, mind blowing s** scene!!
First Black Woman Lead Genre Movie since Ma? - we all forgot about Georgina Campbell in Barbarian?…Sophie Wild in “Talk to me” would like a word…
Exactly plus there's Lupita in Us 😮
@@rogermazuca4582 Keke Palmer in Nope…
It’s a totally well meaning oversight. Lupita does a phenomenal job in this movie but it should never be forgotten 2022 was the year black women not only dominated the horror genre and each one were box office hits as well. (And the Jordan Peele and Lupita side by side bringing US to a 70M opening was amazing to witness)
Demands Wise in Imaginary,Nathalle Emmanuel in Invitation, and Janelle Monae in Antebellum
Wow. I loved this movie...best of the three so far. So well done in every way, emotionally involving too
Very disappointing movie ..
Btw the cat in the movie is almost identical to my elf she's very quiet but her fat ass brother is loud loo his name is gingerbread
Halloween Horror Night is going to make a maze for this movie.
Aww your cat is so cute!
snooze fest to me... this movie is just following the same premise as the prev 2 movies and doesn't add anything new... i feel that the movie would have been much better and interesting to see how ppl adapted to survive starting from day 1... i would imagined the movie would go like this:
initially when the aliens invaded nobody knew their weakness and are attracted to loud noises.. so naturally everyone would be screaming and running around making heck lot of noise... but because there are more people than aliens at that time so the aliens cannot kill everyone who make noise... instead they prioritized on killing the loudest ones... so i imagined ppl start to realize that the loudest ones get killed first they learned to keep quiet... and over time more and more gets killed until there are more aliens and humans and the remaining survivals know how critical it is to remain silent to survive...
Nice channel. P.S. I noticed you describe yourselves as "gay" homosexuals. Are there homosexuals that aren't gay?
