    Hey man! That's a great trip report you provided here. The price of 110 Euro is more on the higher side since it doesn't provide a shower and WiFi as a sleeper train, especially for me who relies on WiFi so much :( Despite that, it is a relatively modern look sleeping cabin with newly furnished closets as well as great-looking toilets, a huge plus for me who needs a toilet every early morning after I wake up from sleep :D Also, the carriages are so quiet compared to the EMUs when it speeds down the mainline. Before I end comments here, as a takeaway, I think is train should be called "Central Euro or Visegrad Sleeper Express" since it runs in central European regions and they are also the Visegrad groups as well :D
    Cheers from Malaysia

    • @PeteBrandy
      @PeteBrandy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks a lot! I think that this price is still quite good compared to other night trains (e.g. Nightjet). With the sleeper train, it is also necessary to take into account that the cost of one night in a hotel will be saved. As for Wi-Fi, I don't think it's needed that much on a night train, just have a SIM card with data, and EU data roaming applies throughout the EU, so data from one EU country can be used in another EU country. Greetings from Prague :-)

    WLAB10mnouz 305ad can still be ordered new. There is a pdf at FPS Poznan with all technical data. IMO the best of all cars. Beats even new nightjet sleeping car, because they are single units and therefore flexible. The deluxe compartments in the middle with the bathroom sections are just perfectly designed. I want European Sleeper or any other private company to order these ones, instead of leasing 1950s stock.

    I already knew in few seconds, You are riding the "mainline" number 130 in Slovakia just by listening to the squealing, rattling, rumbling... the Holy Spirit keeps those trains running there. My friend, a loco driver, once told me, they must swallow a couple of transport sickness pills while entering the Bratislava - Štúrovo line...😎

      @@NerdX151 I tried both routes and the route via Břeclav - Bratislava - Štúrovo is approximately 2 hours faster. In addition, the journey through Břeclav is more efficient thanks to the joint journey of through cars towards Wien / Graz and then through cars from Prague.

    Great video as always. I Got on a Czech train in Schwandorf Germany around 1030 am last month to go to Prague. About 20 guys got on with beer who must have been going to do a stag party in Prague. I think some guy was getting married. Anyhow they played loud music and sang for the whole duration to Prague. I was in first class and could still hear them. I felt bad for the passengers in second class. Would this type of behavior be allowed on a German train? I was wondering what your thoughts were?

    • @PeteBrandy
      @PeteBrandy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The train on the route from Schwandorf to Prague is jointly operated by 2 carriers - Alex (German) and ČD (Czech), each supplying part of the carriages. The main problem with this route is that in Germany the train is operated as a Regional express and promotional tickets are offered, which attracts similar groups of passengers. Unfortunately, the 1st class car is operated by Alex company, this carriage is not properly arranged. I also experienced this on this train when I had to listen to loud music in 1st class.

      Feel sorry for you- this has happened to me on the Amtrak across the USA.

    • @tamaslukacs3173
      @tamaslukacs3173 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gars1074At MÁV (Hungarian State Railway), the staff can be asked to exclude such a passenger from the trip. Then the staff either accepts the confrontation or not. The train is sure to be late in such cases, especially if you have to wait for the police too. So the opportunity is there, but it is rarely used.
      However, if the "passenger" does not have a ticket, there is a 90% chance that they will take action against him. Even if the train is late.
      In the event of such a person being dropped off, the alarm chain starts. They inform each other about the problem and its location.

    • @PeteBrandy
      @PeteBrandy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. From Warsaw, the train has No. IC 407/14010/14011, in Poland this train runs as the InterCity train to Bohumín and I have seen both numbers used. It is important that there are through cars to Budapest. However, there are now lockouts in Poland, so you better check that the train will leave at the planned time and from the planned departure station (e.g. from PKP or on the Portal pasazera).

      @@PeteBrandy The first coach was headed for a special purpose train. It traveled between Veszprém and Bp Déli. If I remember correctly, the Veszprémfest was taking place. The car is stored at the Hungarian Railway History Park. They are also the operators. The museum's track network is accessible via Bp Nyugati. The second coach was on its way to its place of operation in Miskolc. It is easier to solve this via Keleti, because there are direct trains from here to Miskolc.

    13 hours is too much

    For half the price of this train one way, you can have a round-trip flight and be there in an hour! Not worth it at all.

    110 euros is way too much for this service.. you don't even get a shower, acceptable breakfast or a comfortable matress and your journey is 13 hours long. I can literally get a Wizzair at 8:45AM from Warsaw and get to Budapest in an hour for 60 euros. I'd expect at least Nightjet or ČD Night standard for this price.

    What can i say? The interior of the compartment is extremely unhomelike (colours like in a lavatory), average speed 72 km/h is a joke

    11O euro for one way ticket is a joke. It was terribly overpriced. The service is really non-existent, it seems. And I wouldn't call it a breakfast. It's insulting - a jam, a butter, and a few slices of bread? It's really bad.
