as soon as i saw the first pipe, i was like mmm he wont be able to put it in after weld complete, but it came out even better, i love the way it looks, nice job men
Neat! Great set of skills you have. The springs give it a cleaner look while still keeping the old scrambler vibe. I dig where this is going and look forward to the finished product!
that came out better than i expected. also ,good on you for not editing out the mistake you made with the pipe where you couldnt get it off the bike, a lot of folk wouldnt have admitted to that.
I've been wanting to try a pie cut exhaust for a while now. I also have the evolution saw so you have inspired me to give it a go. Keep up the good work. Love your build videos
Looks awesome, Taylor! Awesome job! I never really thought about it before, but you've kind of inspired me to build the exhaust on my current project bike when it's time. Hell, why not? You're a trend setter!
Hi Taylor, that exhaust is so sweet, the whole of this build is great 👍 Understand why you painting and wrapping it, seems such a pity, I like the chrome look. Can’t wait for the next one.
Glued to my seat. I've built several exhausts. Good luck 👍. I'll be doing some exhaust builds on our channel soon. I have that same saw. Careful cutting stainless because it will mess the blade up. Not so much on thinner stuff but definitely on things like .125
I have a ninja 250 2007 that I was ran off the road in 2012 with only 4000 miles. I took the tarp off of it and rolled it around from the side of the shop cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and took all the fairings off and this bike seriously looks brand new. the fairings are ugly but I've already ordered a really nice 1976 KZ400 tank and protaper bars and a brand new rear shock from a 2008 (newer) ninja which is taller and a set of Battlax Bridgestones and I'm building a custom seat. Now I just need to get a welder to do the hoop and make an exhaust which I have never done before
Great video and great work. Really enjoying watching this come together and learning some things at the same time. What about an actual scrambler for the next build, something like a Honda Dominator, Kawasaki KLR650 etc?
really like this build. I watched it when it came out, but came back today because I have a similiar project on which I want to make my first exhaust aswell. How did you grind of the chrome of the stock exhaust? just with a flap wheel on an angle grinder?
The Second zylinder header makes a relly sharp near 90 degree turn aswell, or am I wrong? It maybe should be a little smoother for the exhaust flow. Otherwise great job!
Metal is denser than fabric, much like steam rooms are thin but water that temp would kill you. Wrapped pipes are actually hotter but take longer to burn you.
Good job and it looks really badass but idk about having the muffler right next to your ass haha, maybe you could've moved it a lil further back or something?
bro I'm watching this and it's hitting me.. this is an air-cooled engine. even with heat wrapping the exhaust you're starving the engine of surface area and in traffic it's going to make a difference :/
I'm only 18 and already making my own scrambler exhaust, thanks to you!!
This is quickly becoming my favorite build you have done so far.
Awesome! I'm glad you like it. It's actually turning out better than I thought.

Never seen a twin kz750 i have owned 2 they were in line 4. On flip side cool build love all your builds great work
Hi, great job !! it looks very good. Not an easy job, congratulations. thanks for the video, Gus
Sweet pipes, the bike is really taking shape.
Love it!! Best bike build channel on TH-cam.
Thanks! I will be in my new shop soon so be on the lookout for a ton of content!

Good video showing your process, Taylor. 🏍👍🏍
Awesome work on the exhaust! Especially for a first time effort! Excited to see the final bike.

Very, very nice for your first try at an exhaust. You continue to impress me sir. Keep up the good work. Love the videos.

Looks great man, you're gonna build a custom exhaust for every bike from here on out now.
Awesome job man. I think it looks incredible!
This is one hell of an awesome looking exhaust dude! Keep it up,
Good video man. Your the first one i've seen do it that way, and it looks the job. Fair play to ya!

Looks really good.
Most definitely nice looking bike

I like the hair man. Also, nice job on the pipe. A wrap would be good just because of the heat. You might need a shield but, I don't think so
Hey there Taylor, nice video, you know what, you'd think that exhaust was made for it, it looks that good.
Great video and great work. Really enjoying watching this come together and learning some things at the same time. What about an actual scrambler for the next build, something like a Honda Dominator, Kawasaki KLR650 etc?
Great work! Just realized that I need a custom exhaust on my kz750 scrambler to! 😁
Best build ever!
good job bro;] fun as hell to watch
Looks great!
Even if a heat shield isn't necessary, I think it would look great aesthetically. That just comes down to personal preference though.
You should wrap the pipes and also make a heat shield...
Wrap is coming in the next video. I will ride it and see if a heat shield is needed. I have had good luck with just wrap on my Triumph.
Maybe a wee shield on the right pipe where it curved round behind the wheel too?
I hope the heat doesn't cause issues with the rubber mount on the rear shock, its gunna get warm.
You could try using hot glue to fix the pie-cut pieces in place until you get the right shape for welding. Just a thought.
really like this build. I watched it when it came out, but came back today because I have a similiar project on which I want to make my first exhaust aswell. How did you grind of the chrome of the stock exhaust? just with a flap wheel on an angle grinder?
22:00 It comes off, but probably not with the gas tank installed... But, maybe you never will have to remove the exhaust anyway. Nice build!
How thick is the exhaust wrap. It looks like you’re rubbing pipe taking it on and off.
Great job 👍
Very cool looking. But how do those tires perform on the road, cornering, light rain, etc.?
Great work! What size of your hoodie?
Awesome job Taylor 👍 One question - you seem to plan on wrap and springs one the collector section, how are they going to integrate ?
The Second zylinder header makes a relly sharp near 90 degree turn aswell, or am I wrong? It maybe should be a little smoother for the exhaust flow. Otherwise great job!
awesome channel quick question did u shorten the forks by cutting them or replace them on this bike?
Thanks! Stock front forks. 1 inch longer rear shocks.
are you gonna need spring and exhaust clamps?
i would just use the clamps but cut some slots on silencers for clamping
And remember... A scrambler aint a scrambler without a black painted engine❤️
oddis slajos never heard that one before. All real scramblers Ive ever seen had bare aluminum engines
Very good job, are you going to have to take the tank off to remove the pipe though? Doesnt look like much clearance there
Nope. It comes off with the tank in place.
@@ClassicOctane that is awesome you did such a good job I do want to do the same after seeing that
Im in Australia
I just bought a 1976 KZ750 Scrambler and I want to do an exhaust that is very similar to this
It's 10 degrees in PA right now. Shut up about being cold lol
Its about 5 here in Sweden and its barely cold ;)
@@dahlmasen3084 your tougher than I good sir lol
10 in Montana too
-13 Fahrenheit here in Canada
Gear1993Head xxx Hahaha problably not but I like cold weather ;)
Nice
That close pipe path block air cooling fins and deliver heat? (Not criticism. I'm a newbie learning.)
Nice job! I'm curious: How many hours did it take to build the exhaust? Good on you for building what you want from scratch.
I would say 7 or 8 total. I could do it in half that now probably.
@@ClassicOctane Man... I hear you there. Story of my TH-cam bike video making LIFE.
Hi Taylor, just asking, why don't you place exhaust at the right side of the bike?
Because there is a kick start on that side. The exhaust would block it.
So the thin exhaust wrap will keep the two header pipes from roasting your left thigh?
It does on my Triumph.
Metal is denser than fabric, much like steam rooms are thin but water that temp would kill you. Wrapped pipes are actually hotter but take longer to burn you.
Do those Evolution chop saw blades work on any ol' chop saw?
I'm not sure. I know my saw spins slower than a traditional abrasive chop saw so I would imagine the blades are designed to work at slower speeds.
Those blades are for slower (but more torque-y) saws, for sure. Abrasive saws generally run a much higher rpm than the metal blades are rated for.
@@skullsandflames123 Thank you.
Won't the exhaust heat affect the shock its blowing on?
I wouldn't think so. It's pointed at the top mount and a few inches away. When you're riding the bike the airflow will keep it cool.
Very good job, I like it!!!! Are you interested to sell me your original exhaust? I need a couple of this and I can't find it! Please !!!
I cut it up to make this one. It was pretty rusty from the middle back so it wasn't worth saving.
Good job and it looks really badass but idk about having the muffler right next to your ass haha, maybe you could've moved it a lil further back or something?
!!!!!!!!
