I have got to say I am 15 years old and building my own scrambler/cafe racer right now and its people like you that are giving me inspiration to do it. Really love the bike, great look great sound and hopefully great performance! Keep up the awesome work!
That solution for the signals is fantastic. The black wheels and the gold chain work well, I think I like it better than shiny wheels. And she sounds MEAN. Great work!
Cotter pins in Europe are called split pins. Makes more sense if you think about it. I like the rims. They look good. The gold accents make it look good. Overall great job! Can't wait to see the next build.
Bought one of these 5 years ago to restore. I’ve worked on cars but never bikes so I’ve always been intimidated to start the project. I’ve watched your whole series on this bike, and your bike sounds and looks fantastic. I think this is the motivation I needed to start mine. Keep doing what you’re doing, I love this stuff.
@@ClassicOctane yeah I own an 80 that I have torn down to frame and in the process of rebuilding with slight modernization. Doing a dual disc front brake conversion. Electronic ignition. Stuff like that. Always a great bike before the tear down. Looking forward to your future content. Keep it up.
Enjoyed this build start to finish and learned some useful stuff along the way. I love how it's turned out. Very much looking forward to seeing her on the road and the dirt....Wonderful!
been watching some time now and I think this is the best fit-finish project you got done. It's amazing how every next build is a testament to improvement in skills and creativity. I dig the color combo , very much! Couple recs -if u dont mind- about the build: - I would add U shape edge trim on the tank seams. Not only it makes them look bolder also adds protection to potential weak spots on the seam. I spray painted some of them and it looks cool if you can't find the color you want! - Skid plate would help a lot as far as protection. Looks rad too! - Tail light screw can be an issue if the suspension travel is greater than the distance betweekn tire and the bolt. I am sure you checked it before but just seems much smaller on the video. Keep it up! its inspiring for sure
Thanks for the suggestions. I did check the clearance on the tail light bolt and we should be good. I have some edge trim I could try out to see how it looks one the tank. Skid plate could also be a cool project.
Wow! Excellent job converting a street bike for CASUAL dirt riding. Might consider painting the White Kawasaki emblem Black, front fender needs a black rubber extension as does the rear fender if you want to avoid dirt and mud all over the engine. Skid plate would complete the scrambler look. Amazing you are able to run the pods and still have the engine perform, not easy. Please be sure to provide the details for the carb changes so the rest of us will have a clue! Looking forward to many interesting entertaining videos!
While not the kind of bike I would be interested in, I do love the process and the results. The bike looks awesome and sounds even better. Keep up the good work.
Love it! Let’s take a look at the front fender gap when we put the bike on the floor. From the bench it looks like it needs to be a little lower to not look like an afterthought. Love the original tank color.
Super stoked to find your channel and this build in particular. I'm trying to finish my 80 kz750 twin scrambler, not quite like yours, just a little more custom...but not much.
I have loved these videos they have helped me a ton I just recently bought a 82 csr 750… I wish I had the disc brakes that the older ones like yours got, weird that the newer ones went to drum brakes. Thinking about doing the conversion. Anyways keep it up definitely a fan of these classic standard bikes
I always liked the Kawi 750 twin. I'd love to get one and strip it down to made a bobber. Not a hardtail, but lightened and simplified. Shaved down fenders, solo seat, change up the bars, perhaps fwd controls and a springer front end.
I've used several of those LED's you used for rear turn signals. Most have a 50% fail rate. Pump some silicone into the rear where the wire exits helps. Mud is an issue as well as rock so I vote gold skid pan/mud guard. Pod filters are great but CV carbs work best with one airbox. Upgrade to some Mukini VM34's round slide.
Really having issues with my kz750 twin. Would love to get rid of the old airbox and put wither uni or k&n pods. Please hit me back with what you find/found out when testing it out. Thanks!
Kick ass! I'm considering running pods on my CB350F. I know a lot of the old guys say it will run lean. I'm interest to see if you restrict the airflow or go up in jet size. Great video.
I kept waiting for you to replace those gawdawful chrome shocks. Suddenly they're gone and you didn't even mention the new shocks or who makes them. This turned out nice.
Another build in the books and now time for the first build at the new place. Love the final result, only thing I'd change is that front fender. I'd either put that on up high just how it is or put a full one in the current location, that chop on the rear of the current fender looks out of place.
Looks awesome, really dig how it turned out! Can’t wait for the ride video! I know you stocked up on motorcycles, but it would be cool to see you do an air cooled bmw like r65. Working on a CB750 cafe myself, but considering a bmw r65 or similar for the next project or Yamaha xs650.
These bikes hate POD filters! I'm interested in seeing what combo of jets you end up using. I had some luck w bigger idle, bigger main jet, clip moved all the way down, along w uni filter well oiled. Bike looks great!
I'd also be curious about the final carb setup (jet size, needle setting). I'm doing a KZ750B twin build with pods as well, and need to order jets. @Classic Octane, did you end up staying with the 135 main and 50 pilot?
A great transformation of kz750, that exhaust looks so clean, will the heat from exhaust not damage the rubber bushing for the left suspension ? I might be wrong but would like to know @classic octane
It's far enough away that it shouldn't cause any issues. I will keep an eye on it but initial testing when I build it shows zero heat transfer to the shock.
How did you hookup your front brake line at the caliper? My front caliper on my ‘76 has a hard line/flared tube going to it, but I want to switch it to a banjo bolt.
Killed it again. The brushed fenders with black wheels and gold chain really sets the bike off.
Thanks!

Ahh split pins... that makes way more sense than cotter pin. What the heck is a cotter?
I believe that it's derived from the word cotterel, meaning bolt bracket.
I thought they were invented by Mr Cotter ...........
I love those Hondas, but for me this is the best looking bike you've done. I'm so glad you kept that paint job. Great job
Thanks!

Great seeing another KZ750 back up and running. Nice work!
Thanks! i'm suporised you don't see more of these things being built. I love the way it turned out and how it sounds.

Okay okay, the black wheels look super good
Thanks, i'm happy with how they turned out.

That's a great bike! Fantastic job you've made of it. I'd be happy to own that! It's so responsive and has a real bark.
Very nice work Taylor, it looks great, and sounds cool , one suggestion, skid plate would finish it off nicely.
I like that idea. I will see what we can do.
Nice Taylor!!! Congrats on finishing the bike!
Thanks!

A used 1976 Kawasaki gas tank alone can run $500. That tank is a beauty!!!!! 😍
While not the kind of bike I would be interested in, I do love the process and the results. The bike looks awesome and sounds even better. Keep up the good work.
Thanks James!
Really enjoyed seeing this bike come together. It looks absolutely perfect. Thanks.
Thanks Colin!
what a fantastic build she looks awesome and sounds great liked the video
Looks cool. Another old bike brought back to life.
That's my mission! Take all the neglected old bikes and give them new life.
Sounds great👍I like the original colour scheme on that tank
Thanks, i'm stoked on how the bike turned out.
Wow what a beautiful bike. Excellent job.
Looks great. Front fender came out great, but the star of the bike are the upswept pipes. Cool.
Thanks Scott!
Love it! Let’s take a look at the front fender gap when we put the bike on the floor. From the bench it looks like it needs to be a little lower to not look like an afterthought. Love the original tank color.
the black rims totally fit with this build. makes it look that much badder.
Once again my friend! Looks great and sounds better! Great job!!!!
Thanks Wayne!
It looks amazing, looking forward to seeing you ride it!
Thanks! I'm looking forward to riding it.
Super stoked to find your channel and this build in particular. I'm trying to finish my 80 kz750 twin scrambler, not quite like yours, just a little more custom...but not much.
Cotter pins are called split pins in the UK, fantastic looking bike.
those eagle eye LEDs are what I’m gonna use on my bike. thanks for the tip/keep making videos, I’ll keep watching! kudos from san antonio TX.
Fantastic build, congratulations!
Thanks
awesome! looking forward to the dirt reveal
Me too!
This bike is sic man. I LOVE the Original Green tank and BLACK is such a better choice for the seat. Honestly love it. Sounds awesome too!
Great looking bike. Well done!
Sounds great ! Those old kawasakis are badass bikes
Thanks!
I enjoy watching your builds. Continued success bud
Thanks Randall!

Clean that bench! Excellent bike, love everything about it.
The shop is clean now! But not for long.... 😎
Great job 👍 was a bit sceptical at first, but what an amazing transformation.
Nice to see you used the original paint.
Good addition to the Triumph.
I was skeptical too. You don't see a lot of these built. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Black wheels with gold chain looks badass
Thanks!

Awesome build, keep it up. Excited to see what's coming.
Thanks!
Awesome sound! Great job! Starting to look like a shop now with tools everywhere! Really like the new place and how you set it all up! 👍😎👌
It's night and day better than my old workspace. I have been loving it so far.
really like this build, i love the attention to details.
This is great content and somewhat educative !
Thanks!
Great videos. Would like to see fewer cuts, maybe just fast forwarded clips of you doing everything. That's just me, I love seeing the entire process.
beckham lasseur
Agreed a video montage would flow better
Ok, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the feedback .

That Kawasaki looks GOOD DUDE! I like the black rims
That thing is sweet looking and sounds awesome.
Looks fantastic! She also definitely sounds like a twin, lol. Good job, and looking forward to the next bike and the Camaro content!
Thanks!
Love the black wheels. Looks better with them black then the chrome with those knobby tires
I'm happy with how they turned out. Looks more aggressive.
Good looking bike. Those maguires products do a great job:)
Now I just need to find the time to do my car... and my truck...and my wife's car.
Bike looks great !! congrat !! thanks . Gus
Thanks Gus
Nice job, looks great so far. Looking forward to the next video!
Should be up this weekend!
my CX500 runs great with pod filters and straight pipes
stock tuning, ran worse with re-jetted carbs for the "performance" "Less restriction" mods
Yes finally, now we wait for the test run, as always thumps upp :-)
Thanks!
You have'nt thought about making a skid plate? I think it would look dope, go well with the "off road look" and protect the engine from stones etc!
Was thinking the same thing
That could be cool. Maybe put a few dimple die holes in it.
Might just be me but......satin gold skid plate? Tie in good with the gold chain.
Love the bike!!!!!! Scramblers are awsome😎
Thanks
This looks great. Nice job man.
Thanks!
Looks fantastic!
Thanks!
Looks and sounds awesome! Great build man. looking forward to the next one. ✌
Thanks!
Great video, I would like to see the engine cases polished. 🇬🇧
5:00 The muffler blows straight into the shock absorber - a subtle design :)
Love it Taylor, great job man
Excellent work
Thanks Mike!
Great job, looks really good!
Thanks!
Really having issues with my kz750 twin. Would love to get rid of the old airbox and put wither uni or k&n pods. Please hit me back with what you find/found out when testing it out. Thanks!
Good job like the content hope you are enjoying your new job!
So far, so good!
Kick ass! I'm considering running pods on my CB350F. I know a lot of the old guys say it will run lean. I'm interest to see if you restrict the airflow or go up in jet size. Great video.
I usually bump up the jets 2 sizes and go from there.
I kept waiting for you to replace those gawdawful chrome shocks. Suddenly they're gone and you didn't even mention the new shocks or who makes them. This turned out nice.
I must have missed that. I got them from 4into1.com but I believe they don't carry them anymore unfortunately.
Looks great, good job!
Thanks
CV carbs aren’t made for pod filters. Vacuum differential and mixture issues, but there are fixes.
Nice work 🏁
Thanks!
Looks good!
Thanks
Looks and sounds great man.. if it rides as well as it looks the Bonnie might have some competition :) ps I LOVE the Triumph..
Thanks! The triumph may become shop art after this one 😂
pumped for the minis. Do it.
Me too!
Really love the exhaust, did you weld that yourself or is it an aftermarket part?
I made it. The muffler is from Cone Engineering.
Classic Octane that’s awesome man, thanks for the info.
sweet bike, i like the twins much better than the fours.
I'm starting to convert. Between this bike and my Triumph,
I thought it sounded s bit like a thumper when it was first running. That's a pretty cool bike!
Yeah, you can see the look on my face... "that doesn't sound right"
Another build in the books and now time for the first build at the new place. Love the final result, only thing I'd change is that front fender. I'd either put that on up high just how it is or put a full one in the current location, that chop on the rear of the current fender looks out of place.
Not my style but I still think it looks great. I'd ride it for sure.
U ar the boss u shut make a skit plat kudos from Denmark
Inspired me to build one myself
She sounds siccccckkkk man!!!🤘🤘🤘
Thanks!
I love the sound 😲I’m wondering if I get the same pipe if my GR would sound the same
Great looking bike, oh split pins, we call em split pins in the UK 🇬🇧
Ahh split pins... makes way more sense than cotter pin.
I like the black wheels! Normally I don't care for them
Looks awesome, really dig how it turned out! Can’t wait for the ride video! I know you stocked up on motorcycles, but it would be cool to see you do an air cooled bmw like r65. Working on a CB750 cafe myself, but considering a bmw r65 or similar for the next project or Yamaha xs650.
I would love to do a classic BMW. They are hard to find for a decent price though.
Cool bike!
Thanks Karl!
you should bend up an alloy skid plate to run between the frame rails if you plan to do any off road with it. Graet bike btw
That could be cool. Maybe put a few dimple die holes in it.
Love your scanel. I wonder What is the best motor. Triumph 650 or Yamaha 650?
Wondering how that lil brake light will do on trail ridding? Besides that great build im sure it will do just great!
We will find out in the morning 😎
Taylor how could you tell that one cylinder wasn't firing at first start up? Awesome build!
It sounded like an old single cylinder "thumper". Didn't sound as smooth as it should have.
You might consider using the rubber "bellows" from a master cylinder to cover (and weather-proof) the ignition switch.
p.s. No tach?!
That's a good idea. No need for a tach. I'm not racing the bike and can shift just fine by sound.
Wow the choke can increase the loudness of the bike? Thats interesting.
Take a white paint marker an fill in the tires lettering it go good with the white Kawasaki letters
Was that the stock ignition cylinder, if not do u have a p/n. I am building a Brat Kz11oo, love what you did with the key.
where did you buy that front headlight holding arms? those where you drilled holes to led blinkers.
small round mirrors at then end of handlebars i would say and i would move back the front fender 5-7 cm =)
