This Homebrew method does come with some annoying downsides but remember that Switch Homebrew has only just begun. Also, keep in mind that I did not develop this exploit, I'm just passing this amazing Homebrew development forward. I worked soooo hard on this video and I hope you enjoy it. :)
If your Nintendo Switch freezes just hold the power button for 12 seconds.
Your Nintendo Switch will freeze in sleep mode when CFW is active.
Homebrew will be lost when your Nintendo Switch is turned off.
Every time you wish to enter the Homebrew Menu after a system restart, you must reinstall Homebrew. You do not need to reinstall the files on the micro SD card though.
Install Homebrew on your Switch at your own risk.
Compatible Firmware Versions:
4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3 ,4.0.4, 4.0.5, 5.0.0, 5.0.1 & 5.0.2

Ok so with the 3ds cfw, I had to buy a Flashcard and a magnet from Japan...
But with the Nintendo switch all I need is my trusty paperclip!

Aaron Marques apparently you need a powerful graphics card to use that method (without another 3ds), which a lot of people I'm guessing don't really have

This looks so full of potential. I'll wait until Nintendo cools down on the whole "ban everyone" thing, but I'm definitely doing this at some point down the line!
4 years later and they still ban.
I even heard if you loud a custom map on Splatoon 3 ON THE SHOAL (Splatoon 3's local match mode, doesn't run on Nintendo servers) they can still somehow ban you.

Finally, someone in this comment section *actually* knows how homebrew works and when it's the best to use.
@@JustFunkiiOfficial here's another idea, buy a secondary switch for hacking it (in my case, im actually using my old switch since i bought an OLED, you could also get an old Switch from a family member who has one but doesn't want it)
and because its a secondary switch and doesn't has my main account, it wouldn't really matter if i get banned on it. I could run all the mods, homebrew apps and emulators that i want to.
Although this is only the early days, its not as accessible as hacking something like the Wii or Vita PS

As much fun as homebrew can be, I don't feel like it's worth it right now since there are mainly emulators that also run on Raspberr Pis anyway.

People say it can’t be fixed through an update but on 5.1.0 nothing happens when I go to pictures so I think they somehow fixed it

Easiest to homebrew:
#1, Wii (anyone could do it)
#2, Switch (hard to boot into RCM, but the rest is easy)
#3, 3DS (has too much file swapping, and takes a long time to homebrew, as well as there are tons of ways to do it, so you don't know which one to do)
Edit: I’ve changed my mind about what I said. Wii is definitely easy, but 3DS is pretty easy too, and only takes about 45 minutes to do, however switch is the biggest problem with linking pins 1 and 10 with a PAPERCLIP, but using a Joycon Jig makes it a breeze

InternalScreaming can you lead me to your source where people's switches have been broken because of this? The only issue I've heard is that the switch freezes up when it enters sleep mode, which can be returned back to normal by pressing and holding down the power button
yes nintendo will ban ur account and switch. ppl on twitter already tweet this info. Id recommend doing this on a second offline switch in airplane mode

NANI THE FAK I am well aware of this, I personally scratched a little of my joycons rail paint since I didn't know to bend the paper clip right and even then not every paper clip is made the same, I guess it's my fault for not wanting to pay for an RCM jig
I remember back in the Wii days you just needed a sd card and put some files on it

Just buy a gameboy if pirating games is what you’re using this for. Pirating games is not okay, in my opinion, if you’re doing this for anything other than mods then you deserve your console to be bricked haha

Yes, I believe it only makes the album turn into a homebrew launcher. All of the games will work 100% fine :)
But can you also download them from a "Freeshop" (like in the 3DS) and use them online?

doing this over and over again to get into homebrew gets annoying! I did this yesturday just fine. I ordered the jig. it took a few times but it does work. I will wait for a more permanent fix.

You can use a OTG-enabled phone and NXLoader if you have one and use that. Otherwise yep.

Great video though! I managed to get this to work on version 5.1.0 since there was support for that (I was on 5.0.2 before that). I only updated because Smash for Switch and it would be pointless keeping it on low firmware.
