To save backup nands or whatever you called them here, email the backups to yourself...that way if anything ever happens to the PC/hard drive you have the backups saved to, you can always get them via your email. Seems like this is kind of focused for people who want to comprehensively mod their only switch. I have a dedicated switch oled to play switch games, I'm looking to mod one basically into a tablet to play emulators like DS, GBA, and PS2.
I've definitely got no reason to do this until Nintendo Switch R launches (and hopefully is hackable within the first nine days or so!), but this is definitely good to know. 2 questions before I start this process 1. Could i still download digital downloaded games on there? 2. Could/How would I install mods to games like MK8D and Splatoon 3?
1. There are ways of getting switch games digitally on cfw 2. Gamebanana has some of the best mods, but most mk8d are outdated and will crash your game upon loading
@teedleyt dumb question but can you mod games that you have downloaded through this emulator, like a randomizer/custom outfits for pokemon or different armour/models for botw/totk?
Great tutorial and followed it easily. Question, of all the games I uploaded, only Cuphead gives me problems. I've tried to download it on 4 different sources but after loading it, it always says "Software was closed because an error occurred" happen to know why? the other dozen I have loaded doesn't say this. I'm gonna get that Animal Crossing edition Switch as a back-up before I mod my old Switch that I still have. This way, I can give myself Shiny versions of Shiny-locked Pokemon in all my Switch Pokemon games that I own, including Scarlet and Violet. As long as I don't use those illegal Pokemon online, I shouldn't get banned right?
Yup if you only play that modified version of the game in your emunand, youll be safe. You can also safely play the unmodfied pokemon in your sysnand if you have a legit copy

Do you own multiple switches as in one designated to your modding adventures and one for regular usage. If you only have one how long have you had it modded for?
This is the only switch I own and I modded it for the first time 3 years ago. Whenever I do modding videos, I uninstall the custom firmware and redo the process in the vid. I’ve wanted to get a switch oled as my personal switch but because the next console is probably coming out next year I think I should just wait 😂
Quick question that you may or may not know the answer to: My switch is too old and is patched, but I *really* want to mod my games. Is there any way to mod them without a modded switch, or do I just have to buy and mod an un-patched switch
Yo big question if I do jailbreak can I still play games like Fortnite and online games or is it just like the ps4 jailbreak where I can only play offline??
When system mods are this involved, limited and clunky, I usually hold out. PSP and Vita I had the same experience. Super high risk to have a very delicately and barely modded platform. I'd rather have a soft mod that can dual boot and easily take on new software, which usually comes later after all of these sloppy tries.
question: the prefix of my switch is XAW1, when it says first six digits do i count the 1 as the first digit? or do i start from after the 1 cuz if i include the 1 it says it's patched but if i don't include the 1 then it says it's ok and i really hope it's not patched lol

Pretty good tutorial, although it’s sad a majority of people probably can’t even do it as I doubt those people didn’t get a switch early 2017
I was a lucky person that did
I got one and let it collect dust once I got my OLED switch close to when jt launched. Might as well knock off the dust and mod my Old Switch 😅
To save backup nands or whatever you called them here, email the backups to yourself...that way if anything ever happens to the PC/hard drive you have the backups saved to, you can always get them via your email. Question though, and sorry if i missed it...which vision switch and what firmware do you have to be on to do this? I see the video is 2 days old but last i checked everything said you had to now solder some stuff to the switch. Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Ah I went back and re-watched and saw it needs to be an old switch, which I believe mine is...will check serial number, but what official firmware is this for? Cause I believe my switch is most likely on the newest official firmware.
Bro, you don’t need to download extra software to format your sd card, it’s literally a windows feature.
It only is supported to reformat to fat32 sd cards if the sd is i think only 32gb big
What is the difference between this and using the RCM Loader to mod your switch?
Seems like this is kind of focused for people who want to comprehensively mod their only switch. I have a dedicated switch oled to play switch games, I'm looking to mod one basically into a tablet to play emulators like DS, GBA, and PS2.
I've definitely got no reason to do this until Nintendo Switch R launches (and hopefully is hackable within the first nine days or so!), but this is definitely good to know. Buuut I'm probably going to be reaaaally focused on Nintendo Switch R once it's out if it has any semblance of decent features.
fun fact, your emmunand does not have to be 29 gb, i have mines at 12gb to allow for more space on the sd card and it works perfectly fine
How do you format your SD to 128 gb of Fat32?
Rest In Peace, the Nintendo Ninjas are coming for you

Hi king, Sorry but did you ever post a tutorial about how to jailbreak a nintendo switch oled? thanks so much

Hey Teedle, great video, but I need a little help. Got to the part where you launch atmoemu. I am getting an error message " A fatal error occurred when running Fusee. Failed to open sdmc:/atmosphere/package3!" any ideas on how to get passed.
same, I also got this error
you find ?
just tried this tutorial on my switch today, getting same error... any fix yet?
Alright well a quick google search and I figured it out. For some reason, going through all these steps actually ends up removing all the files we copied over in the start of the video, step 4ish... So do this:
1. You have to be in the Hekate boot menu.
2. Go into TOOLS -> USB TOOLS -> SD CARD and connect your switch to your PC so you can copy files.
3. Copy over all the folders and files exactly as he shows in step 4 (where to drag the files)
4. Now go into Launch and launch the AtmoEmu.
That should do it! :) Hope it helps.
One more thing, if this doesn't work then try copying the ZIP files directly to your switch SD card and then extract them there.

just came back to say DO NOT forget to backup your emmu nand after you make it because then your gonna have to start over when you screw up installing sum later ask me how i would know
I just did it and it works thx
Thank you, i have now really happy kids !
I have the old model switch but havent updated it in a really really long time & i used to have atmosphere on it, do you recommend me to install latest update then start over?
I hope modders find a way to mod newer switches becaude i have a 2021 release switch and its unmoddable
6:54 this was the point where i said yes
Little question, do you need to update your switch to the latest firmware or is it also compatible with older firmwares?
No it doesn't work on the latest updates.

How do you do the hard mod so you don’t have to use the jig every time you reboot the device? Is that done only with the added hardware chip? I modded a gen 1 for my nephews but it’s annoying using the jig.
That was well-enunciated
Ty I’m happy Nintendo didn’t take this down but I wish I could slow down and go into more detail but last time I did that I got a strike on my channel 😢
Meh mine cant be modded its patched :( Makes me wana go buy an older one online. I modded the hell out of my PSP and 4 years later it still kicks ass! Installed a custom theme, icons, everything that thing was pretty sweet.
Just bought a 99 cent rcm jig from aliexpress, lets hope it actually comes
dang thats a really good deal so yeah hopefully it does show up lol
@@teedleyt it came! very surprised lmao
Does this include a procedure you must do all the time after rebooting the switch? (un/tethered)
Can you show us how to install Tinfoil with this? It doesn't seem to work for me, whatever I do

TEEDLE,I SEE A NINTENDO MISSILE COMING TOWARDS US!

I had an unpatched switch but I had to go get it fixed. Instead of fixing it, they apparently just gave me a new switch
2 questions before I start this process
1. Could i still download digital downloaded games on there?
2. Could/How would I install mods to games like MK8D and Splatoon 3?
1. There are ways of getting switch games digitally on cfw
2. Gamebanana has some of the best mods, but most mk8d are outdated and will crash your game upon loading
Unsure of splatoon 3
@teedleyt dumb question but can you mod games that you have downloaded through this emulator, like a randomizer/custom outfits for pokemon or different armour/models for botw/totk?
I put on .5 speed and I can understand finally 😂
guys mine shows a black screen with this message '' a fatal error occured when running fusée failed to open sdmc :/atmosphere/package3!
Great tutorial and followed it easily. Question, of all the games I uploaded, only Cuphead gives me problems. I've tried to download it on 4 different sources but after loading it, it always says "Software was closed because an error occurred" happen to know why? the other dozen I have loaded doesn't say this. I'm stumped
Update your sigpatches.
If you own the game and used NxDumper to make the copy from your cartridge or Eshop purchase, redump it, but with the option for 'don't require account' set to no (which is default).
The day patched switch get modded with no chip will be crazy...
Sir, this doesn't cover for how to be banned protected, this will cause users to get banned.
*Don't watch videos to mod your devices.* Many can use outdated methods, or sometimes (not necessarily accusing this guy of this exactly) may even provide viruses.
@@teedleyt Which I do, the only game I don't have right now is Let's Go Eevee, only the Pikachu one. I mean like if I trade Pokemon with myself to give myself the illegal Shiny Pokemon made with PKHeX, I shouldn't get banned as long as I don't use them online.
great tutorial but imo modding the switch ain’t really worth it besides modding games i mean you’re already kind of at risk of being banned i honestly recommend for everyone to mod an older system like a psvita or 3ds especially psvita
smh. this is not for u then. It's for people who own multiple swtiches smh.
@@streamverseai if you wanna hack your switch thats cool there IS some pretty cool homebrew stuff for it im just saying what i think

I’ve wanted to get a switch oled as my personal switch but because the next console is probably coming out next year I think I should just wait 😂

does it work with parental controls?

After the mod can you boot the switch into the original system? And if yes, will I be able to connect to the Nintendo’s servers?
Yes you can select stock in hekate or fully power off your switch and turn it back on to boot into the normal one and ye you can play online on it
@@teedleyt can I also use the Nintendo eshop to download games and buy the Nintendo switch online subscription?
Quick question that you may or may not know the answer to:
My switch is too old and is patched, but I *really* want to mod my games. Is there any way to mod them without a modded switch, or do I just have to buy and mod an un-patched switch
Its impossible. Unless you want to play them using an emulator on a different device.
you have to hire someone to install a modchip into your console if you plan to keep your switch

Yo big question if I do jailbreak can I still play games like Fortnite and online games or is it just like the ps4 jailbreak where I can only play offline??
You can play online on your sysnand if you keep it clean (no downloading apps to the home menu)
Step one. Switch
Step two . We are done.
Wait what
can i use my switches sd card that i have on it for this? or should i use a new one? what are the cons of using the card i have for it currently?
Does it matter what switch software version you have?
REMINDER IF GUIFORMAT IS GIVING YOU ERRORS MAKE SURE THE LOCK AND UNLOCK ON YOUR SD CARD IS UNLOCKED. THAT IS WHAT ALLOWS FORMATTING
When system mods are this involved, limited and clunky, I usually hold out. PSP and Vita I had the same experience. Super high risk to have a very delicately and barely modded platform. I'd rather have a soft mod that can dual boot and easily take on new software, which usually comes later after all of these sloppy tries.

question:
the prefix of my switch is XAW1, when it says first six digits do i count the 1 as the first digit? or do i start from after the 1
cuz if i include the 1 it says it's patched but if i don't include the 1 then it says it's ok
