Thank you for your video! I had a large white pine fall yesterday. I’m excited and sad for the beautiful tree. But I’m going to honor it and use as much as I can!
Hello! I have a question: I made some pine needle oil last year in November. I stored them in olive oil for a month and when I opened it, it smelled a bit strange but not off. We have used it on our skin and it didn’t seem weird, just slightly burning but not odd. But then I read that with Rosemary you wouldn’t leave it in the oil, and I left the pine needle in the oil for about a month in the dark. Would you know by any chance how I know my pine needle oil is okay, and didn’t get any bacteria in it. Thank you so much and your video is very clear!!
At Himalayas I checked and found many but how to find out if it's white pine???? In some of their leaves the have three needles from one sprought ...is it fine ...??...
You want to let them dry for a few days to avoid mold but if they sit out much longer they start losing their fragrance. So, let them sit for 4-5 days. No need to wash unless there’s something sticky or what not on them. If there’s dirt, just brush it off. I hope this helps!
Thank you! It snowed here my husband and I watched a few huge pine tree branches collapse. It was beautiful. A day later I went out with my trash bag and clipped away. Thanks to your video I have plenty of things I can do with what we were blessed with 🤓
Hi Edith. Someone else just reminded me that I neglected to film the follow up. I have some more infusing so I’ll be filming in the next few weeks and will post. Thank you for the patience!
Oh my goodness you’re right - I’m so sorry I let that slip. I have some more lavender infusing right now and will film a video making it into a balm within the next few weeks and will post the video. Thank you for keeping me accountable!

I can easily imagine - but… was looking forward to the straining of the pine needles! Part 2?
wow I absolutely LOVE the look of your kitchen cabs and fridge!
Thank you! We’re obsessed. My husband and I did all of it and we love our 1950s appliances too.
Thank you for the great work!! I really like the content and high quality of your videos. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them!!
Thank you SO much! That means a lot. I’m really tying to improve and make progress. Your feedback is so appreciated ☺️😃
Would it help to bruise the needles before you do the infusion like you do with herbs?
What about using a fermentation weight to hold the needles under the oil. Would that work well?
Can you do this with ponderosa pine?!
Love the non standard measurement, “1/2 a box” 😃 anti inflammatory- I can use that!
Lots of good benefits!

I enjoy tour video.
I can't find video, how to strain the oil out.
How long do you let it infuse? I missed that part. All I heard was several weeks...? Thanks so much. :-)
Typically 6 to 8 weeks depending on the scent. If it’s robust by week 6, I strain then. If not, I’ll wait another week or two.

Extremely high in vitamin C as well.
Question do they have to dry out and do you wash the pine needles first

@@themnhomestead yes thank you so much!!
@@deediva6073 you're very welcome!
@@themnhomestead I infused mine, after a day of drying (because I didn't see this video until now) The oil is cloudy. Did it go rancid?
@@peacerootsapothecary5651 I’m not 100% sure but it’s possible. Have you smelled it to see if it’s true to the pine smell or if it smells a bit off?
can't find second vid ?
How long will the infused pine oil last.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
You’re welcome!
I thought the needles should be dehydrated prior to canning. wouldnt the moisture cause mold?
Was wondering that as well.
How many weeks need stay in infusion
6 to 8 is my typical.
What is the oil?
