Via a very circuitous process (probably tried all the more popular distros) I am going back to UBudgie again along side Windoz 11 on my desktop. And thanks to this review for that.
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you found my video helpful and informative! Ubuntu Budgie has quite a few great features, so long as you know to look for them.
I really love budgie DE and for me the most easy to use and complete budgie desktop are on ubuntu one. The devs add more interesting applets more than the basic solus offer, and they are pretty awesome for that. For some time i distrohopping try to find some distro which offer me budgie as optional DE, such [arcolinux, geckolinux, manjaro, endeavour ] but unfortunately not many applets offered and had no fleshed out experience compared to UBudgie already had. I've even tried install added budgie packages available on opensuse/arch repos, but often time it just dont work or even crashes. I really like rolling distro but having no complete budgie experience as rich on UBudgie on rolling distro, it's so unfortunate.
Agreed. Ubuntu Budgie offers such a customizable experience with so many applets and features, that it makes most anything with a more standard / vanilla Budgie desktop feel incomplete. It would be nice to have all the applets and features on a rolling distro! I’ll have to keep an eye out for that.
Wow . Ubuntu Budgie is a awesome Distro . I'm currently using Zorin OS 16 Pro which is a Ubuntu baes distro . Some features are i wanted in that . But Ubuntu BUDGIE have those what I have in mind . I'll try that out . Thanks bro for this informative video . Keep providing stuffs like this . +1subs
Thanks for the positive feedback! I really do like Zorin OS (I may do a video on it in the future) but Ubuntu Budgie really does have some great unique features that make it a joy to use.
so is this a review of Ubuntu Budgie or the Budgie DE in general? I mean are the problems you see on the Welcome Screen and the Budgie Settings are just present here in Ubuntu Budgie or are they also present on other Distros using the Budgie DE?
I believe the Welcome Screen (and many of its features such as the different layouts and applets) are specific to Ubuntu Budgie, though I haven’t tried Budge elsewhere (such as Solus) in a little while, so I can’t be certain. But I believe the Welcome Screen and my criticisms of it are specific to Ubuntu Budgie.
Exactly! I understand a lot of people not wanting to browse the welcome screen, and therefore missing out on a lot of those great features that can’t be found anywhere else.
Unfortunately, I can’t personally test it with touch right now, though since it’s based on GNOME (at least for now) I suspect its touch support would be similar to that of GNOME’s, which is to say “pretty good in 90% of cases, but occasionally lacking”. If I can get my hands on a touch device to try it on, I’ll let you know.
Fedora is a personal favourite for me (though sticking with Ubuntu, regular Ubuntu with GNOME is probably better for touch, though Budgie is getting better than it used to be in that regard).
Hello, This was a very informative video. The budgie Desktop is a great desktop for people that love it. All in all I think I will pass on Ubuntu Budgie 21.10. I would much prefer to use Solus as I feel they would get all the updates and can use Budgie better since they created it. I love Ubuntu and all its flavours and if you like Ubuntu Budgie that is cool just not my cup of sausage.
Thanks for the comment! I definitely agree that Solus is a fantastic distro that of course implements the Budgie desktop very well (as they were designed for each other). It definitely deserves a video of its own in the future!
@@PlanetLinuxChannel i forgot model but its realtek usb wifi adapter ,model somthing like rlt87** something. The way windows compatibility with adapter is not found easily in linux. Its just plug and play but linux need some extra work like sudo update etc (I'm not pro) still not worked any method on youtube so i gave up.Will try when i buy new modern pc motherboard and component. Otherwise linux is good lightweight fast 👍
What do you think of Ubuntu Budgie or the Budgie desktop in general?
It looks nice and polished :)

Your reviews are awesome dude! You earned a sub. You are very underrated
Thanks so much! It’s great to see people’s live for Linux and to hear that my videos are helpful.
I remember my first experience with the budgie desktop is when I tried Solus os in a vm. It was very nice and polished
It is quite nice

You selected Minimal installation, Normal Install has LibreOffice by default.
Thanks. I must have done that by mistake.

Thanks for the run through and review much appropriated

"I know what I'm doing."
Skips welcome app*

The reason for the lack of office is because you had ticked the minimal install option in the installer.
Thanks. I don’t remember doing such, but it is possible I did by mistake.
Is Ubuntu Budgie good for touch device? I mean does it come with an on-screen keyboard, gyroscope screen rotation, long-touch right click support?
Unfortunately, I can’t personally test it with touch right now, though since it’s based on GNOME (at least for now) I suspect its touch support would be similar to that of GNOME’s, which is to say “pretty good in 90% of cases, but occasionally lacking”. I think gnome would be a better desktop environment for touchscreen devices, a good distro for it would be Pop os or Fedora Linux

I would have gladly switched to linux but is wifi adaptor problem that is so annoying. Developer should focus on Drivers and Device compatibility 🙄
It’s probably a general Ubuntu or even Linux kernel shortcoming. Which Wi-Fi adapter is it?
