Failed drugs test and still went to Seoul
Him and Denis Mitchell. They tested positive for the same stimulant, presumably as a way of combatting Ben Johnson’s extraordinary starts
@@danishskiwarehouse the funny thing is DeLoach and a few others tested also for the same 3 substances and Deloach was a 200m runner. They were using those stimulants to mask other serious PEDs
i understand where the "pointing finger" of the seoul Final comes from now.... ;)
that first semi was loaded if it were to be ran 4 years later
The greatest to ever do it
Get the steroids ready!!!!
Best shape of your life huh Ben?
Carl lewis singing the national anthem was so awful in 1993 it made charlie steiner laugh😂
Those paper numbers that they wear create some drag.
and what about 1988 LJ trials - Lewis vs. Myricks? :)
Unfortunately, I don’t think Calvin Smith’s semi was shown on tv.
He ran faster than Ben Johnson in Seoul 🤔
+5.2 m/s so way over the legal limit
if Ben had run through in Seoul and assisted with a 5.2 tailwind he would have clocked at 9.52-9.53
Fantastic! Do you have the other semi with Calvin Smith?
Ben Johnson is the G.O.A.T.
Nice, do you have the women's semifinals? I've always wanted to see FloJo's 10.70
They only showed the Quarter Final (10.49) and the Final (10.61) on television. Here is the whole broadcast of the women's 100m from 1988:
