It's a moral issue: Flo Jo achieved her results through hard training. She didn't need doping. That's the point here.
She changed coaches, she and her husband developed new training methods, which brought the long-awaited success, in addition to the work put in.
A statement from FloJo and her husband, Al Joyner:
“I know exactly what people say about me,” she said. "And that's just not true." I don't need to use drugs. If they want, they can come for testing every week of the year. I have nothing to hide." Her husband says all the talk boils down to jealousy. He said his wife's astonishing gains are the result of being "trained as a man." He added: “We bought a $150 leg exerciser and she did leg rolls every night. Over 20 pounds every night to add strength to your legs. She worked 12 hours a day.”
Only those who have nothing to hide say so.
Do 12 hours of leg training a day for months and you'll set the world record.
      Period.
There are interviews with her from 1984 where her voice is exactly the same. She always had a deep voice. Her voice is also deep in the training video made in 1994, even though she hasn't competed in years.
FloJo's death was caused by an epileptic seizure due to a congenital brain disorder, sadly drowned RIP.
Florence Griffith Joyner retires from the field On February 22, 1989, five months after the Seoul Olympic Games, Griffith Joyner announced her retirement from track and field. When discussing her retirement with Liguori, Griffith Joyner said: "I retired in 1989 because I could no longer train at 100%, the way I used to train. If I can't give it my all, I don't want to give it at all." Griffith Joyner moved on with her life. She became a mother, pursued fashion design and continued to combine sports and style. She even designed the 1990 NBA uniforms for the Indiana Pacers.
After the death of Florence Griffith Joyner, doping allegations against her intensified. Many believed that illegal performance enhancers may have contributed to her death. However, after the autopsy, Dr. Richard Fukumoto, forensic medicine expert, clearly stated that no changes caused by steroids or other doping agents could be detected in her body. "This report allows Florence Griffith Joyner to rest in peace," said Primo Nebiolo, then president of the International Association of Athletics Federations. “Her family has had to endure incredible media attacks, many trying to undermine her legacy without any real evidence. This campaign harmed the entire sport and the anti-doping campaign. I expect more responsible behavior from media representatives in the future. I hope that after this, many members of the athletic world will assure the family of their love and sympathy."
The 100m and 200m world record holder is FloJo, these are the facts.
Facts are stubborn things. "FloJo was juicing". These are just assumptions. The truth is, no one has ever proven these allegations. So FloJo's world records are and will remain official. I don't see anyone who can topple them. FloJo achieved her results with the perfect harmony of body, soul and spirit.
Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Florence Griffith Joyner's style and speed brought her international fame, but her Olympic performance was clouded by skepticism. A year after the Games, in 1989, a former American athlete named Darrell Robinson told a European magazine that Griffith Joyner had given her money to buy growth hormones. Griffith Joyner denied the allegations, telling the New York Times, "It's all made up lies about drugs. I'd be crazy to do drugs." In 1998, sports commentator John Feinstein said on NPR's Morning Edition, "The rumors were in Seoul in 1988, and I think the first thing to note is that he never tested positive," he said. "But she became a star late. She was 28 at the time... These rumors will always be there and she's been asked about them throughout her career, which she's always denied." The International Olympic Committee's medical board says it conducted rigorous drug testing on Griffith Joyner during the 1988 Olympics - and it always came back negative. Griffith Joyner spoke to journalist Ann Liguori about the allegations in 1991: "I knew I had never taken drugs, so I didn't let it bother me when people said that. I knew it was something that was in the news," she said. "People were looking for personal things to point at the athletes. Try not to buy it and just focus on what needs to be done and move on."
I know it's hard to accept the fact that FloJo is the best in the world, pure. No one has ever proven that it is muddy. That being said, I understand that you are suffering and trying to smear FloJo's memory, but that only qualifies you. Your baseless accusations are just trying to reassure me, I am calm because I know the truth about FloJo's purity. So you can say anything until you prove that your words are empty. . She is the only woman to hold 2 athletics world records for more than 35 years. I'm sorry you can't understand that there are people in our world who can create admirable acts without any doping.
      Believe what you want.
      DYOR
Do you have any more questions?
"Florence Griffith-Joyner, Tellez and Bob Kersee denied the allegations, but Florence Griffith-Joyner did not pursue legal action. The accuser questioned Robinson's motives, as he received $50,000 for an interview with Stern and $10,000 for an appearance on NBC's Today show . to discuss the matter."
Darell Robinson was a frustrated, frustrated personality with a hint of jealousy, a slight desire for revenge, because he himself could not succeed. Materiality played an additional role in his motivation. He is a completely untrustworthy person with empty words and zero evidence.
      Flo Jo RIP❤

Her use of HGH, which was essentially untraceable at the time, was an excellent example for future athletes about how to appropriately choose their performance enhancing drugs and not end up failing a drug test. A real role model.

Are you people so biased and ignorant you are afraid to look at Flo's history? Just a couple years earlier Flo was not an elite runner then in a short time set world records! That is impossible in track & Field. After you reach 19-21 for a sprinter that is it. You do not all of a sudden set world records! Distance you can improve up to 27 but not sprinters. Also she died early as so many juicers did. Evelyn Ashford when asked about her said Yeah she is really something sarcastically! Evelyn was the fastest woman then all of a sudden Flo comes out of no where and sets world records then dies young. Believe what you want?

So why didnt you look at Flos history? Just a couple years earlier Flo wasnt elite runner? Really? In Helsinki world championchips 1983 she was 200m 4th, Olynpics 1984 2nd and Rome 1987 world championchips 2nd. Yes those are 200m races not 100m, but obviously she was elite runner way before 1988. Or mayby you dont think that second is not anymore elite...

Year before 1988? Or more? Or what?
But just for an example she ran 1987 200m 21,96 and 100m 10,96, and 1984 200m 22,04 and 100m 10,99. World records were 21.71 and 10,76 at the time. She didnt compete seriously between Los Angele 1984 and Rome 1987 (I found couple of results in 1985).
So your statement is simply not true. Why you guys dont check your information...

There was testimony from nurses that Flo Jo was a regular visitor to the hospital in the center of doping. People just want to accept it, it broke my heart about Marion Jones. There’s been a big cover up about Flo-Jo because if she is exposed other athletes will also be exposed from that era.

@@ConsciousFBA today is harder to get away because they have unannounced out of competition drug testing. even that many athletes still get away with it because it's not like you are getting out of competition testing twice a month or something like that. sometimes you get it once or year or sometimes 2 or 3 or 4 times a year. it's like a random draw testing of athletes. and if athletes got called in for out of competition testing then they are allowed to miss drug test up to 2 times every 18 months without any penalty. so by then they are clean. track and field will never be a clean sport, athletes will always find a way to cheat and to beat the system.

@@minavamp2811 no it's not. Did you see the Jamaican women? One of them is 36 years old running the best she's ever. It defies nature what she is doing. If you know anything about the Jamaican drug testing program you know that it's much easier to cheat than it's ever been. Plus there are different rules for different people as evidenced by what happened to the American sprinter for smoking weed and the 15 year old european ice skater who actually had steroids in her system.
