    I just installed a 2 1/2 lift on the front of my 2017 Ram 1500 4x4 to level it out and I’m considering beefing up suspension. Maybe upgrading the control arms, and new shocks on the rear. I like the ride height, and have 305/55r20 Nitto on fuel rims with. 1 in offset. No issues with rubbing tires, and it drives straight.

    Great vid thanks on here you just pry the front strut back in place where as the kit instructions say remove the axle nut which I really don’t want to do, how hard was it to pry the strut in place with the extra height on the strut? Love the vid tho glad you guys did one

I also installed a 2 inch body lift to fit 37” tires. I also bought other aftermarket parts to go with this type of lift and honestly I recommend just installing a lift the right way from the start and dont try and take short cuts…anything over 3 inches is best to do a diff drop. next year im installing a 6 inch lift the right way. I haven’t broken any cv axles like other people have claimed BUT the way they sit at an angle they start damaging the intermediate shaft splines .

    How are the drive shaft angles???

    • @jamescole6846
      @jamescole6846 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4 inches is right on the edge for causing driveline vibration front and rear and wearing out your front cv joints (on 4x4 models) quick if you flex them a lot off roading. the fix is a lot more money than this kit costs. 2 or 3 inches is max imho on the 4x4's before you get into all the rest of issues. It's doable, just a lot more items to replace if you want long term.

    • @jamescole6846
      @jamescole6846 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vonnieboy7878 I have a Ram 1500 Sport I am looking to lift as of right now. Been a Jeep man all my life been through 4 of them and all the issues. This is my 3rd Ram truck as well. You need to drop the front diff if it is a 4x4 otherwise you are probably good. The front CV joints dont like a lot of slope. or Angle. Furthermore the 2011ish range trucks had an even worse front end for doing this in 4x4. Ram made several re-designs from 2009-2019 even though it was the same body. Some are coil over while some are coil and shock separate. If you have a 4x4 version just do the research. BDS is probably the best but its a 2500.00 kit

    • @ryancarpenter1678
      @ryancarpenter1678 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drive cv angles are not good lol I have this kit I’m saving for a zone 6 inch. I haven’t had any problems but if you throw your truck in 4wd, and when you take off from snowy road you get vibration, it’s more for looks then practicality. If I knew this before hand, this being my first lifted truck I have ever done. Stay clear away from this kit.
