@CarlosHerasme Performance wise, it's the top 2 of the rank with those hardware components. Only Legion 5 Pro can squeeze more due to better thermals. I have undervolted the cpu in bios and overclocked the gpu. Gained 10% free with much better thermals. Currently, my ambient temps vary between 18-19C. During light dev work, fans are at 1400rpm, which is barely noticeable, temps hover around 55-58, otherwise at idle I can expect them to get as low as 47C. For such a slim and well-made device with a power-hungry intel cpu, this is superb imo. I can fully recommend it.
That small wattage charger will lead to battery drain in heavy use, not much but it's clearly not enough to power both the GPU and cpu at the same time
@ImShubhamY the pro series with higher watt gpus need the 300w charger. I don't know the exact wattage with the 7i, I know that's less than 230 combined.
Can you please mention how awful their naming scheme is for customers actually trying to shop for these? 7/5, i7/i5, 5/7 slim? 7i/5i slim?! All with different generations from different years with nothing in the naming to indicate which came first, and a total absence of useful information on basically every site selling them. Then factor in that there's often hardly any difference between them, with the specs of both high and low end laptops overlapping significantly, depending on the exact spec of that particular laptop. The slim variants are like 1mm slimmer than any other, which further confuses things. I like these legion laptops but who even knows which one I really want? It seems like every time I think I've found the right fit for me, I find a new one with a different name and basically the same spec.
Honestly yeah. I was trying to look up some specs and technical details and I kept getting results for previous gens, which didn't help at all since I got the Gen 9.
Dude agree I have a 2020 7i ot was a bad buy and that year had build quality problems I still have it but I'm gonna replace it with a mini PC build. The lenovo laptops look solid but yeah their naming socks . Their line up is way too large and confusing. The only advice I can give is shop on the legion website and use it as a baseline for what laptops they currently have
I have owned this laptop for a few months now. My biggest complaints are: -Battery is non existent under even normal use. 1.5h. Must bring a charger, which is massive. -In performance mode it gets super hot and vans start turning on max, even before windows have loaded up (log in screen) -White looks cool, but it is not a durable surface. Had my first scratches even before taking it anywhere with me out of the house. (No idea how they got there) Performance, build quality, screen, keyboard are awesome however. Bottom line is that this machine is always plugged into the wall, and never leaves quiet mode.
Same is true for every gaming laptop with an intel chip inside. Thats the curse of an intel based gaming laptop. I dont know what 'normal use' you were doing in yours to get 1.5hrs only, when the tests online show a min 6 hrs of yt playback and even 8hr in this vid with light use..
Very strange review, maybe the weirdest I’ve seen, it seems you complained about almost everything whilst the stats showed a different story, I mean ofcourse the fan noise will be loud in extreme mode?? Its even worse on the G16, the battery seemed pretty decent for an i14 HX CPU laptop where you didnt mention the others did not carry as powerful of a CPU which in return gives slightly better battery life, and it being almost perfect and not perfect as title suggests, means you will recommend alternatives which could either be G16, which its not perfect either, and razer blade which is absurdly more expensive
The problem isn't Extreme Mode. Its Extreme, we get it. The issue permeated into Performance Mode as well which is highly odd since Legion has always used Perf Mode as their more balanced gaming focused profile. I think you might have watch the conclusion rather than worked your way into the entire video.
@@HardwareCanucks i watched the entire video twice, I have watched about 30 different reviews on this Unit and G16, I wanted to see what numbers you would get compared to the G16 with a 4080, as I feel thats a more direct comparison because the Legion 7i with 4070 is way better performing than G16 4070, and if its not perfect I wonder what the gold standard of 16inch laptop is from the ones you reviewed in 2024, 53.1 db on performance mode I consider normal for a gaming laptop, I find it hard to believe the others you tested didnt get to around 53 using a similar mode
Your last review of the Slim 7i made me look for one in Denmark. It took so long to be available here, that it had been out for months in USA and UK when it finally arrived here. And then it was crazy expensive, compared to the other countries.
Just ordered this in glacier white, i9, 4600, 16gb ram, 1tb, upgraded display, for $1300 on sale directly from Lenovo. Will probably grab a 64gb ram kit at some point. Crazy how prices swing here.
Finally, a reviewer mentions the creaking. When I was watching videos before I bought my Legion 7i Slim Gen 8 nobody mentioned it and its really REALLY annoying.
This is so much better than my 8th gen for literally $70 more than I got mine for. I mean the hardware is the same. But the display is nicer, it looks less like a gaming laptop, which I prefer. It trades 2 usb c none with thunderbolt support and 4 usb a for 3 usb c, 2 usb a, and an sd card reader while maintaining the headphone jack and hdmi port and being slimmer. The only thing that would be nice to see is the option for Ethernet, albeit it would rarely be used by anyone, but the option is nice.
Same... I got the gen 8th at a similar price of the gen 9th when it first came out... No matter how small it's still an upgrade if i waited a bit longer😭 Although personally i like the looks of the gen 8 compared to the gen 9
Thank you so much, I bought my 7i few days ago for $1300 from Best buy on sale the base spec and now it's an i7 - 14700 Hx with 64 GB of ram a combined 4tb of storage between two drives with teg rtx 4060 8gb model. I love the upgradability of Lenovo laptops so so much. I hope they keep it up.

@@DeathTeamSolo thanks. I think it's a bit heavy but that's expected. I use it almost exclusively at home so not a huge drawback but if you do plan on being mobile with it then be prepared to get some serious steps in. If you game the fans will be loud but that's also expected. However it's not as loud as my ASUS Rog or Razer but maintains temps better somehow. Overall nothing negative that surprised me as I expected these drawbacks. I'm a very happy camper.
issue is for 13 and 14th gen so it doesnt really matter, and u should only be worried if you plan on using 65W+ . if you're going for an i7 u need not worry given its power limit is set to 55W
I bought this laptop a couple times and did everything possible to get over 5 hours of battery life with as light of a load possible and could not manage it. The screen dimmed to 35%, 60hz, best bettery mode on every setting, limit as many background apps as possible. I Maybe 6 if I got lucky, how are you claiming 9 hours of battery life? Is the better screen you have more efficient somehow? Or are you making false claims? I would like to know because if i could even get 7 hours of light load, i would go buy this again
My previous generation (Gen 8) is back in the shop--for the third time!--to fix the crackling speakers and hopefully replace the WIFI card with consistently low connectivity on Bell's awesome Giga Hub. (Connection speed on my M3 Pro is great! The speaker situation on the Mac side of things is redundant to praise.)
Some segments of this video is simply nitpicking and gets a little weird. A gaming laptop this beast is going to be loud @9:20. In fact, all gaming laptops with a 4070 is similarly loud. This laptop has higher performance compared to a Zephyrus G16 and Lenovo Yoga Pro i9 resulting in lower battery life (duh). And you know what? It's more affordable too!
Thank you for the video. Sharing my experience after one month of use: PROS Built quality excellent Nice Keyboard Nice display Performance excellent CONS Battery (let's say acceptable can't complain) Heate. This thing gets really hot.🔥🔥🔥 Excellent for the winter to replace your stove or to use as a BBQ for your summer grill party. For me this is the only down side. Over all Great laptop.
I have the spect out Legion 7i Gen9 its fast its very good looking and yes it is loud when I am gaming its a slim gaming laptop what do you expect. I am very pleased with this one my old Legion Laptop from 2019 was never that snappy! But 24 cores helps than the 6 cores 🙂!
Had this for a week and exchanged it for a 7i pro. The keyboard and palm rest was extremely hot on the 7i. The 7i pro has none of these issues, plus it houses a 4090. Not sure why, but the temp difference in use was a huge difference.
I think my main beef with the 7i pro is the screen, that and it just looks so bland. I think getting the 7i pro with an external monitor might be a good solution
Yes if you want max speed 32gb is the way to go but if don't mind the little hit in speed you can upgrade it higher they advertise 32gb max at 5600 but it can be upgraded higher amount but as you said it'll be 5200
Hi im using a previous generation legion laptop and im loving it!! However i got a 360Hz monitor to hook it up recently but realised the hdmi port is cap at 120z 😢 are they any brand (and series) of laptop you would recommend that has native displayport ? A side question i have and would love to confirm is if a Mini DP vs. a 'normal' full-sized DP like those found on a desktop gfx card, theres no difference and compromise between the Mini DP and DP yeah; where the Mini DP would still be able to get the full 360Hz *im on a 1080 monitor
Thanks for the awesome review! Hope to get your feedback, if a side by side comparison with Razer Blade 15 (2022 model) with rtx 3080ti, which one wins in terms of performance and temperature? And of course reliability over the years?
Purely based on specs, 4080 is gonna be around 25% more performative than 3080ti, also depending on what you intend to do with this laptop you also have Frame generation on RTX 40 series, which is still a bit uneven, but can drastically increase your fps
I love my Legion but I won't buy another one unless there is a 120hz mode. 60 and 165 doesn't cut it and causes plenty of issues with stuttering and frame times if you don't know how to mitigate those issues. 120hz option would solve a lot of it.
Is it worth the upgrade from 4060 to 4070(the 4070 costs 250 usd more at my place)? Really have to know as i watched some reviews in which the difference is very little and some where the difference was about 20-25 percent(1440p gaming). I'm planning to keep the laptop for about 4-5 years. The 4070 has more cude cores, but rest of the specs are identical ig.
I am looking for a windows laptop for gaming and web development in general, I know mac laptops are great for developments but I have never been into those. Which is the best laptop you suggest to cover this requierments
If you want the hinges of your laptop, any laptop to last long stop opening it from corner sides... Please open a laptop by holding the middle of the lid... or it will get damage
Wow the 4070 is even cheaper now on sale, I have 2021 Legion 5 so a big fan of Lenovo Legion, I had Razer also but it simply died by itself and was constantly overheated.
does the difference of 240 and 165 vissible to eye? If i play old games, it is better to get 3.2 resolution display? I mean 165 can be as good as 240, not many games can show me 240 for real, also to feel that difference?
Am I the only one who likes the previous model's hinge structure? I had bad experience in the current hinge structure though it's from a different brand.
yes it will be noticeably blurrier compared to a native 1600p display. but you can always enable dlss which will take care of that for you. no big deal
If you're a Software Engineering student and can't afford a desktop computer, you'll either have to endure the weight of this one, or spend twice as much to buy a Razer.
@ I’m a business student. Realised I don’t need this and ended up picking the hp spectre for uni.. imma prolly build a 5060/70 build sometime next year
I would buy it right now. But there is no Glacier White option in Poland. I can get a Macbook Pro 16 for the price of 7i with i9. I dont knwo what to get
I'mma still say this bring back the 22 design or just how the 20 was laid out And just keep it pushing that way like you want to make slight changes here and there then that's not problem but after 22 in just the port selection change of kind of hurt
What's the deal with laptops this year being limited to a 4070? I thought this was going to be the year for replacing my desktop, but I guess I'll be waiting for Blackwell. Hopefully Thunderbolt 5 will be more proliferated by then too.
Thanks for your review fellow canadian. The only thing they cheapes out on is the ports. USB A GEN 1 WTF LENOVO?? Is the. 3 2k HDR?? You review a lot of laptops in your opinion How does the screens look in your opinion HDR or non HDR? (IPS
It's the same. The GPU is the same and the CPU doesn't make a difference. That's the thing with gaming laptops. Every year they come out with slight changes to the chassis and looks and offer minimal performance gains not noticeable.
At 16 inches you aren't gonna notice the difference between 3200x1800 and 2560x1600. But that drop to 165hz from 240hz will be noticeable. Save your money and get the 240hz option.
10:05 Are you saying 9 hours? I am only getting little above 1 hour 40 minutes Is everyone else also getting such ridiculous battery backup, or is it only me?
Am I the only one is distracted the moving ball thingie in the background?(not that I'm complaining) I hear him talk but my eyes kept moving towards the BG xD
Legion 7 Pro Gen 9 AMD version will blow intel away. The next Ryzen mobil will have 16 cores 40 compute units with 55w. If Lenovo add a mobil RX 7900XTX up to 120w to it, then this also beats Nvidia. Because of the setable power limits, Lenovo could make the Legion 7 Pro Gen 9 with the same chassi like the Legion 7i gen 9.
They will never include a 4080 in this thin of a chassis, they will never go the G16 route unless they can get the Ultra 9 CPU implemented, my guess is next year it will also max at 5070
Most manufacturers stopped putting the 4080 and 4090 in these thin laptops in 2024. They are mostly gimped under powered versions so OEM's decided to skip it. 4070 is the most you will get. Want a 4080 or 4090 go buy a thicc boi laptop.
idk how you measured the gaming performance in the Zephyrus G16 but the results are really low from what they are supposed to be and Asus has turbo mode which i don't think you used or else the performance would have been at par and even better sometimes like for example in far cry 6 i usually get 87-95 fps in ultra setting at 1600p . i hope you are not paid by the company to spread fake news but this is the reality.
We are very transparent about how we tested all devices by listing power as well as which GPU each has. I fail to see how a G16 + RTX 4070 running at 76W (out of box Performance Mode) can compete against a 7i + RTX 4070 running at 115W (out of box Performance Mode). Even if we bumped the G16 to Turbo, it still only goes to 100W so it would get beaten by the 7i running in Performance Mode.

My biggest complaints are:
-Battery is non existent under even normal use. 1.5h. Must bring a charger, which is massive.
-In performance mode it gets super hot and vans start turning on max, even before windows have loaded up (log in screen)
-White looks cool, but it is not a durable surface. Had my first scratches even before taking it anywhere with me out of the house. (No idea how they got there)
Performance, build quality, screen, keyboard are awesome however.
Dam hes got a valid point tho 👍🏾
@@JT11111😅it's intel so it will always be louder and battery will always suck.
@@JT11111Chinese brand. They don't like it.
watching this video on the laptop!! Would recommend buying if u dont mind bad battery and hot while basically doing anything
Gorgeous video, thank you for putting this together!! Extremely helpful :)
I really wish the trackpad is centered maaan I'm loving the design
why would you want your right palm to be on the trackpad while typing? that would be pretty dumb
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Clean, simple looks are half the reason I bought my Legion.
Your last review of the Slim 7i made me look for one in Denmark. It took so long to be available here, that it had been out for months in USA and UK when it finally arrived here. And then it was crazy expensive, compared to the other countries.
Feel your pain the one with i9 and 4060 (RTX 4070 cannot be chosen) is 2489 euro
det er vildt dyrt her
Just ordered this in glacier white, i9, 4600, 16gb ram, 1tb, upgraded display, for $1300 on sale directly from Lenovo.
No matter how small it's still an upgrade if i waited a bit longer😭
Although personally i like the looks of the gen 8 compared to the gen 9
Thank you so much, I bought my 7i few days ago for $1300 from Best buy on sale the base spec and now it's an i7 - 14700 Hx with 64 GB of ram a combined 4tb of storage between two drives with teg rtx 4060 8gb model. I love the upgradability of Lenovo laptops so so much. I hope they keep it up.
wait what?? is that how it was when you bought it or did you upgrade it yourself?
We need a review of Lenovo Legion pro 5i 👍
I bought the 4090 version on sale for $2,700. I love this machine.
the 4080 and 4090 are the Legion 7 pro this is the normal 7 which is a replacement for the slim 7 from last year
@@awsan111 thanks for the clarification. I hadn't realized the difference as this is my first Lenovo product. Still love it and am impressed with Lenovo.
@@DSKesq i'm happy you enjoy your purchase. if you don't mind, what would you say are the biggest things you dont like about it? considering it myself
Love your videos man! Gorgeous laptop...probably my next buy (or it will be Yoga Pro 9i).
Hi. I’m really considering this laptop. But do you think it’s worth it go for it concerning the 14th gen processor issues?
issue is for 13 and 14th gen so it doesnt really matter, and u should only be worried if you plan on using 65W+ . if you're going for an i7 u need not worry given its power limit is set to 55W
I would like to know because if i could even get 7 hours of light load, i would go buy this again
they really need to give this laptop AMD
Agreed. It is misleading. No chance of getting 7h of use. He does say it's tested under 150nits, which is screen close to switched off, I reckon.
Sharing my experience after one month of use:
PROS
Built quality excellent
Nice Keyboard
Nice display
Performance excellent
CONS
Battery (let's say acceptable can't complain)
Heate.
This thing gets really hot.🔥🔥🔥
Excellent for the winter to replace your stove or to use as a BBQ for your summer grill party.
For me this is the only down side.
Over all Great laptop.
Totally agree
I have the spect out Legion 7i Gen9 its fast its very good looking and yes it is loud when I am gaming its a slim gaming laptop what do you expect. I am very pleased with this one my old Legion Laptop from 2019 was never that snappy! But 24 cores helps than the 6 cores 🙂!
Which display variant would you recommend im thinking about getting one
@@duffman07ify I have the one with the higher resolution I am very satisfied with that one!
Watching on the same product, which also is my first pc! So far enjoying it:)
Love your videos😊😊
3:28 my model also have that sound, it doesnt affect anything other than annoying overtime
Had this for a week and exchanged it for a 7i pro. The keyboard and palm rest was extremely hot on the 7i. The 7i pro has none of these issues, plus it houses a 4090. Not sure why, but the temp difference in use was a huge difference.
How much did you pay for the pro version?
I think my main beef with the 7i pro is the screen, that and it just looks so bland. I think getting the 7i pro with an external monitor might be a good solution
I think you said "maximum 32GB" memory. Everywhere else i look seems to say 64gb, but itll run at 5200 rather than 5600.
Yes if you want max speed 32gb is the way to go but if don't mind the little hit in speed you can upgrade it higher they advertise 32gb max at 5600 but it can be upgraded higher amount but as you said it'll be 5200
The RAM can be self upgraded up to 96GB (48 +48) ☺️
What kind of ppl require that MUCH RAM?
@@glimmerz3464 I'm not sure myself, but my workloads kinda limited with last year's Slim 7i RAM maxed out at 32GB 🥲
@glimmerz3464 when I am using 2 instances of visual studio I can easily fill up more than these 64gigs I have
@glimmerz3464 I use chrome for data analysis since it is cloud based, 32GB won't cut it. Keep crashing 🥲
Hi all. Would you recommend the 32GB RTX 4070 Legion 7i over the Yoga Pro 9i 64GB RTX 4070? Having a tough time deciding!
Hi im using a previous generation legion laptop and im loving it!! However i got a 360Hz monitor to hook it up recently but realised the hdmi port is cap at 120z 😢 are they any brand (and series) of laptop you would recommend that has native displayport ?
A side question i have and would love to confirm is if a Mini DP vs. a 'normal' full-sized DP like those found on a desktop gfx card, theres no difference and compromise between the Mini DP and DP yeah; where the Mini DP would still be able to get the full 360Hz
*im on a 1080 monitor
the same
Thanks for the awesome review!
Hello is it possible to setup the battery to charge to 60% maximum? I do that with my G14 to extend the battery life.
Thanks for the review super helpful. How much do you feel would be a fair price for that laptop with the 4070? Thanks!
Didn’t they already do a video on this laptop?
this is a white version :)
We did a PREVIEW which was sponsored. This is a full review and we never, ever accept monetary compensation for reviews that are meant to be unbiased.
I love my Legion but I won't buy another one unless there is a 120hz mode. 60 and 165 doesn't cut it and causes plenty of issues with stuttering and frame times if you don't know how to mitigate those issues. 120hz option would solve a lot of it.
yeah mines running hot and was just bought.
Same here, did you have any luck?
Hi, is the 2560 x 1600 240Hz panel suitable for the creator like photoshop figma ? Does it also have good colors?
Looks awesome in White 👍🏻
If you want the hinges of your laptop, any laptop to last long stop opening it from corner sides... Please open a laptop by holding the middle of the lid... or it will get damage
A bit late but, my zephyrus g14 2023 also had that creaking hinge sound.
what's that wallpaper at 7:18
You should be able to find it by searching “lava texture acrylic wallpaper”
Wow the 4070 is even cheaper now on sale, I have 2021 Legion 5 so a big fan of Lenovo Legion, I had Razer also but it simply died by itself and was constantly overheated.
now if this laptop were plugged in when gaming would that degrade the battery
does the difference of 240 and 165 vissible to eye? If i play old games, it is better to get 3.2 resolution display? I mean 165 can be as good as 240, not many games can show me 240 for real, also to feel that difference?
How many hours should we charged the laptop (lenovo legion 7i gen 9)?
What’s the difference between 5i vs 7i? Is it the starting configurations
Does this charger work for this legion ? Lenovo Legion Slim 140W AC Adapter (USB-C).
Am I the only one who likes the previous model's hinge structure?
I had bad experience in the current hinge structure though it's from a different brand.
Stunning laptop ❤
Yes dad I need it for college-
is it possible to play games at 1600p/1440p with the 3k screen option? Will it be too blurry? My country doesn't have any offers for the QHD option
yes it will be noticeably blurrier compared to a native 1600p display. but you can always enable dlss which will take care of that for you. no big deal
Should I take this or spend more money on a thinkpad with an ada 3000 ? Just wanna know if this is too heavy for university
If you're a Software Engineering student and can't afford a desktop computer, you'll either have to endure the weight of this one, or spend twice as much to buy a Razer.
@ I’m a business student. Realised I don’t need this and ended up picking the hp spectre for uni.. imma prolly build a 5060/70 build sometime next year
Mini LED display and better speakers for next year's will be perfect
I would buy it right now. But there is no Glacier White option in Poland. I can get a Macbook Pro 16 for the price of 7i with i9.
I dont knwo what to get
I'mma still say this bring back the 22 design or just how the 20 was laid out And just keep it pushing that way like you want to make slight changes here and there then that's not problem but after 22 in just the port selection change of kind of hurt
I really like the video but I'm confused where can I find all the laptop reviews you don't have a dedicated playlist for that?
Good equip for various things the Notebook HC.
What's the deal with laptops this year being limited to a 4070? I thought this was going to be the year for replacing my desktop, but I guess I'll be waiting for Blackwell. Hopefully Thunderbolt 5 will be more proliferated by then too.
Suggest me which legion series I should buy 7i or 5i pro because both laptops specs are similar like 32 GB Ram .
think the 7i is 240 hz and the 5i is 165 iirc
Thanks for your review fellow canadian.
The only thing they cheapes out on is the ports. USB A GEN 1
WTF LENOVO??
Is the. 3 2k HDR??
You review a lot of laptops in your opinion
How does the screens look in your opinion HDR or non HDR? (IPS
whats more quiet this or strix 16 or acer helios 16
Do you know if we can upgrade the GPU up to 4070 ?
Yes, you can do it through the website itself.
I just got the 4070 7i, hope it wasent a mistake.
How is it so far?
How does it compare the the last year one for gaming?
It's the same. The GPU is the same and the CPU doesn't make a difference. That's the thing with gaming laptops. Every year they come out with slight changes to the chassis and looks and offer minimal performance gains not noticeable.
Is the next gen coming with the Snapdragon X Elite chip and a dedicated Nvidia 5000 series GPU??? Can't wait!
Those wallpapers look Soo good. Where to get great wallpapers? Does anyone know?
Love aesthetic of new 7i but biggest but unfortunately decide to make gpu 115W. And that's why in my opinion legion pro 5 is better option.
can you guys please update your website with a excel spreadsheet of cooler performance chart of db vs C
I always buy laptops build by Lenovo, best laptops my op.
I heard it can charge up to 130w with a 20v/7a charger. Anyone have recommendations for a power bank that could do that?
At 16 inches you aren't gonna notice the difference between 3200x1800 and 2560x1600. But that drop to 165hz from 240hz will be noticeable. Save your money and get the 240hz option.
i needed this comment, the difference is 150$ where i live so i wasn’t sure which one to get
10:05 Are you saying 9 hours?
I am only getting little above 1 hour 40 minutes
Is everyone else also getting such ridiculous battery backup, or is it only me?
Am I the only one is distracted the moving ball thingie in the background?(not that I'm complaining) I hear him talk but my eyes kept moving towards the BG xD
Can this be charged with usb-c charger?
Sound is the last thing I care about in a laptop. Headphones all the way.
How about I take this laptop for video editing and graphic designing in 2025?
Its availabe for 1701 righ now at lenovo which is base price
Weird thing is that the latter didnt go on sale at all so this is 2$ more expensive lol
MIni Led or Oled I want standard of gaming laptops

Where is the copilot key in this laptop can you plz tell me
it replaces rctrl
good thing im watching this on the lenovo legion 7i
Legion 7 Pro Gen 9 AMD version will blow intel away.
AMD won't launch until CES 25, then Intel will also hit back with more cores. Lmao
they just need to also have an 4080 version and change the screen for an oled
They will never include a 4080 in this thin of a chassis, they will never go the G16 route unless they can get the Ultra 9 CPU implemented, my guess is next year it will also max at 5070
And change CPU to AMD or ultra 9 :)
@@rockyfear88 then you have the Yoga pro 9i…😂😂😂
Most manufacturers stopped putting the 4080 and 4090 in these thin laptops in 2024. They are mostly gimped under powered versions so OEM's decided to skip it. 4070 is the most you will get. Want a 4080 or 4090 go buy a thicc boi laptop.
Grand ambassodor of Lenovo
plz open the lids from the middle part
Legion 7i Gen 9... Just add the revision number and the naming scheme will be perfect.
idk how you measured the gaming performance in the Zephyrus G16 but the results are really low from what they are supposed to be and Asus has turbo mode which i don't think you used or else the performance would have been at par and even better sometimes like for example in far cry 6 i usually get 87-95 fps in ultra setting at 1600p . i hope you are not paid by the company to spread fake news but this is the reality.
On rtx 4070 ?
We are very transparent about how we tested all devices by listing power as well as which GPU each has. I fail to see how a G16 + RTX 4070 running at 76W (out of box Performance Mode) can compete against a 7i + RTX 4070 running at 115W (out of box Performance Mode). Even if we bumped the G16 to Turbo, it still only goes to 100W so it would get beaten by the 7i running in Performance Mode.
can you do 7i pro review 4080?
