    The Ladder frame chassis is a robust metal framework consisting of two large metal beams joined together by shorter support beams in between. With a Ladder frame chassis, the body and engine of the vehicle are mounted on top of the ladder frame making it a robust structure ideal for Commercial Trucks, SUV’s and 4×4 Utes that are meant to carry heavy loads for extended periods. With the Monocoque design, the chassis is forged into the basic structure of the vehicle creating one singular object known as a Uni-body, or Monocoque. Monocoque chassis is mainly used in the production of small SUVs, luxury sedans, and hatchbacks, offering superior safety, ride dynamics, and fuel economy due to its lighter framework.
    Platform with Monocoque Design (SUV): Monocoque design is when the frame is integrated into the body construction making it a single structure. The framework of a unibody is designed and built to support the weight of the vehicle. Manufacturers accomplish this by reinforcing the floor of the vehicle, reinforcing the B and C pillars, and using bracing along with various parts of the body for overall strength and rigidity. The weight of the uni-body design is a lot lighter than the ladder frame because it cuts out bulky steel rails as used in the ladder frame and this results in improved safety and fuel economy.
    Advantages of Unibody frame chassis vehicles
    With the advancement in technology and software, the Unibody has become much easier to design, and modify.
    - It offers better ride comfort and lower wind noise being lower and closer to the ground.
    - Unibody gives you a more luxurious ride with tire and road noise being drowned out by advancement in build quality, sound deadening and the suspension setup afforded to the monocoque chassis.
    - Less squeaky components make for fewer rattles and metal fatigue noises commonly associated with ladder frame chassis.
    - The lighter body increases the lifespan of the tires, suspension, and other wear and tear suspension components.
    - They also offer better balance in emergency braking and maneuvering situations.
    Disadvantages of Unibody chassis vehicles
    - More expensive to repair in the event of an accident due to advanced chassis technology, expensive components and the complete structure makes repairs more complex
    - The Body on Frame construction has a very distinct advantage since it does not require the expensive process of laser welding
    - Longer repair times needed due to the above-mentioned factors
    - More susceptible to undercarriage damage being lower to the ground, like oil sumps and suspension components
    - More prone to rust and moisture damage when exposed to water often with critical components being lower down and more susceptible to damage
    - More expensive to develop and to do research and development on

    Sir, I was thinking of the honda city h-ev it cost about 23.1 lakh in my city and zx cvt petrol model costs about 17.8 lakh in my city so the difference is about 5.3 lakh on-road. If city hybrid gives average fuel economy of about 25km/l and petrol iV-TECH gives 15km/l. cost of each km running will be 4.8 rs per km and 8 rs per km respectively ( if petrol costs Rs 120 per liter ), So cost saving is about 3.2 rs per km. I have to drive about 1.65 lakh km to recover my extra spend money for a hybrid. So i don't think that a hybrid is a better option now. also, the mechanism of hybrid cars is very much complicated and I think parts must be relatively more expensive than normal ice cars. In my opinion, fully electric cars are better options than this one. So what is your opinion?

      cardekho analogy was good, it would take 14 years to recover the cost if you drive 50 km daily ignoring the extra cost of maintenance of more parts, and thats the end life of car

      Absolutely correct, hybrid should be about 1 lakh costlier, other countries too have hybrid cars which are affordable, and yes hybrid is actually there from many years, so I don't think it will be unreliable

    Is Innova a total ladder frame or mix of mono and ladder. I think it's easy to manufacture rear wheel drive with ladder frames.

    Polo scored 4 stars in crash test and we are hearing that the newer VAG india cars are using 20% percent relatively inferior steel compared to that. Considering this and the MQB 2.0 platform as a factor and others factors that are there (idk), what would you guess may be the safety ratings of kushaq, taigun etc (5 or 4 stars) ?

      Who said they are using inferior steel? Don't spit anything that comes into ur mind first show us proof that they they are doing cost cutting in safety. Yes they are doing cost cutting in interior and that is normal they can't give u an Audi like car in every aspect at this price in 2022 as everything is very expensive nowadays but mqb a0 and mqb a0 in is a 5 star platform. Do u even know that they are exporting indian manufactured cars to 25 countries and they will send poor built cars accross the globe? They are VAG bro known for their superior build and engineering they can't compromise with safety as skoda and VW brand directors were forcing on only one term safety on slavia and virtus launch they repeated the word safety 100s of times at their presentation. One can only said such terms when he is confident and this platform already proved its metal at euro n cap by scoring 5 stars

    Good explanation. But CG is exactly what it sounds like, Center. It can't be "distributed" it can only be shifted. If the heavier part is lower then the CG will be lower.

      Mileage not that issue but yes will mostly driven by new drivers was considering Kia seltos Imt but that crash test and facelift thing was worrisome
