My question , can it handle solid axles ? Can it bare the torture on it's underbody ? Monocoque has been used since 2000s by 3rd and 4th gen pajeros that had almost the same payload if not more than a body on frame SUV yet it suffered underbody dents which even ruined the wheel alignment ! They were the once who started making unibody 4x4s yet today they are still producing body on frame SUVs like the pajero sport ! Also toyota has won 3 seasons of dakar rally with it's ladder frame ! And finally , the defender was an utilaterian workhorse meant to be driven to the mines , not your everday soccermom SUV which you will park in the mall parking lot ! It needs those solid axles !
Mitsubishi did it first with with a rigid monocoque frame and independent front and rear suspension. Those Pajeros/Monteros are extremely underrated to this day.
Also... The driver is either a horrible driver and has no idea about how not to un-settle a car's balance, or an ultta skilled professional inducing that on purpose, or someone on a keyboard lol.
Funny that scence where guy in New Land rover is waving at guy in old landrover. The old ones with the straight 6 diesel engine are never going to be beaten.
Our Pajero has a monocoque frame and we also recently got a new prado and the performance difference is notable you feel like your on stilts kinda in the prado still a great car just the suspension is disappointing.
Small correction at 11m30.. allows to go into water upto 2 feet.Fully extended the Def 110 can go into water upto 900mm (same as RR sport) which is short a hair under 3 feet, not 2. Discovery Sport is 60cm and Evoque 50cm.. good video though, a lot better than some i had to watch ..
Scotty has sent me here.. Enjoyed the video 🙂
Awesome! Thank you!

@@JimiMoso uncle Scotty is losing his mind in Tennessee , he is not used to the difference in the air lol
Through Scotty, thought it was a passage to toyota headquarters..
Scott told me you got a Celica, so I came
This lady was a good narrator , almost as good as Scotty.
Nooo! scotty has too flat voice, perhaps too much neanderthal DNA.
I wonder why
Easier on the ears lol
a tip : watch series at flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Emerson Saint yea, have been using flixzone for since november myself =)
How many bodies have you seen fall off a body on frame vehicle in an accident?🤷
Zero

Yes.. Wait till those suspension parts wear out and the bill to replace them
Such a great made video! A ton of editing skills!!!
Glad you liked it!!
If only they were reliable
A few things incorrect, one being a Series or Defender chassis is weak, both of them have immensely strong rigid chassis frames.
Also the Series and original Defender have always had a very low centre of gravity!!

Sorry but nothing beats a 20 year old Corolla, not even new Corollas.
no electronics , no problems
Don't forget to include a question mark on the title, it smooths out the first-second haters and the like ratio
"Is the Monocoque Better than Body on Frame? | Land Rover Defender 2020"
Hey now!!!... I was expecting... "Rev up your engines!!"...
Nice and informative video and also support of Scotty...👍👍
Thanks 👍
Monocoque Body Frame!!!!
Its look like Grand Vitara Construction btw since 2006.
0:48 STOP! Can a real car survive one pump like this one? Wouldn't it be totalled?

This lady is excellent just like Scott y Kilmer.
Hi Scott y 👋 🤠
Scotty always good recommendations

Try up to head height with the original Defender and Discovery with the raised air intake.
オフロードカーはラダーフレームと相場が決まっておるのじゃよ
I always wondered why no center wheel
In a place where i live filled with potholes and offroads...i rather have a ladder on frame chassis which can take a real beating
Im here helping
WOW!!! 29KN/deg torsional stiffness, I am a chassis engineer, that number is very huge
Wait, did they say "most reliable"?
Also, Scotty sent me. Hi.
Thanks for BEAMING Me Here Scotty, 👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
A good old Ladder Frame will always beat a Unibody.
Sure looks nice!
Unibody not Monocoque.
Nope . Not a Defender
Great presentation as always!
Thanks again!
From front it looks ugly it should be like range rover sport
Why do you keep changing the name of the channel
