W204 COMAND PROBLEM C300

I have this issue with the COMAND system in my C300. When I first drive somewhere, it’s fine and works perfectly. If, after driving a bit, I stop and turn off the car and then start to go somewhere, this problem shows up. It has something to do with the system warming up after an initial drive. Does anybody have any idea what the problem is? TIA

Had same issue and had to send the unit to be repaired in California. HI Tech Audio . They sent me a refurbished exchange unit . Strange now a few weeks later, my screen is flickering and fuzzy.... but radio works fine

nope - it works fine when i start the car and its cold, and works fine until i shut off the engine and have to restart and go when its warm. weird

I had the same problem , it's the in-built amplifier that is blown , you will need to get it fixed or replace the whole unit .

I think it’s the fuse in the back of the radio that needs to be changed fuse(20) mine is having the same issue right now.

That's not the issue... First of all the fuse number for comand is 26, not 20. It has 20 written on it, cause thats the fuse amperage. The prob is in the comand unit itself.

@@Skoolers Unfortunately not... My guess was either a cold solder joint or a similar prob. I took the unit apart and reheated the circuit boards with no success. I guess it is the amp short-cutting and maybe the antenna is also involved, cause when you change the radio type from fm to am or other, the noise frequency changes. The best option is to send the unit to an electronic shop that knows the solution... I got offers for around 300 eur.

@@korchev reheated all the ICs in the DSP board and noticed a small improvement but got back to the same state a few days after. I'll proceed to replace the dsp and didn't change nothing. Next step I'll change the SAF one.
