The car that looks a million times better in motion than static. It was designed to constantly be in motion. Thanks for letting me be a part of this shoot Sam. Shout out Thomas for his great production work on this. Its definitely a great EV and a great Porsche. I'd get the Cayman before I get the Taycan though just to experience what Porsche was intended to be. Nudge nudge wink wink if you get a Cayman 😁Well done lads!

Great video. As a Taycan owner - you can change the upper limit of speed in Range mode, all the way to 150 km/h.
To do that, while being in the car menu on the central display, where you choose the driving modes, there is a “…” button on the bottom right corner of the screen - press it and you can configure the max speed of Range mode.
    Cheers!

Not very many of these on the used market. If it came out in 2022, that means leases haven’t ran out yet and financed cars still got years. I’ll probably stick with a loaded 4S.

Great review, Sam! Here are my thoughts after owning the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo (station wagon if you like) for one year. Before buying it I also tried all the main versions of the Taycan lineup. I also have a 911 991.2 4S cabriolet that I take to a track and drive both cars regularly back to back for comparison. IMO the Taycan does almost everything extremely well, even compared to a 911.
    First, your two concerns:
    1) Is it a good Porsche or a good EV? It feels the most Porsche (911) of all the Taycans. It is such a good EV that my closest comparison is actually an ICE, the Audi RS6 which is a beast. I would recommend people to try a 911 and especially a 718, they are closer to the original Porsche sports car feel.
    2) The price: Yes it is very expensive, but IMO it makes up for it while behind the steering wheel.
    Plus:
+ The GTS drives phenomenally well around curves and bends in Sport and Sport+ modes. It has the stiffest suspension of all Taycan models in those modes and feels the most 911y of the bunch.
+ Porsche typically always undersells and overdelivers on performance. It is very fast and I typically clock 0.3 or 0.4 sec faster than the stated 0-60 mph.
+ Build quality and feel is very good. I have had no problems even driving it in deep snow in minus 20 to hot summer days.
+ The dealership customer service and follow up is very good, if any questions or anything bothers you they help you right away. This is one of the reasons for the higher car prices of Porsche and other comparable brands.
+ The combination of practicality and performance is outstanding and rare among high performance cars.
+ Much cheaper to buy and own than a 911 due to electricity and state/federal subsidies.
    Minus:
    - The biggest drawback for the GTS and any EV is the weight. The laws of physics is evident compared to the 911 that weighs around 700 kg less. Still, the GTS hides it weight surprisingly well and handles better than the weight should indicate.
    - Range should have been better, but I guess this is not a car designed for range and sensible driving, but performance and fun. I had a lot of range anxiety in the start, but now I just charge when I need to, it is quite quick due to 800V infrastructure in the car.
    - It is quite expensive in Norway, currently at USD 200k fully equipped. Equipment is extremely expensive at Porsche and you typically add a lot of stuff you might not need, that also adds weight.
    - The weight means you may burn through tires much faster than a lighter car, especially if you take it to a track.
Btw I will be trying the Lucid Air Dream edition this week for comparison, looking forward to it 🤩

Alcantara is Not Suede. Alcantara, I believe, is what's in that car. It's a Synthetic Material. Suede is a Natural Material - a type of leather. (Sorry if someone already mentioned this in the comments...)

Something going on with your phone, I have watched it 4 times, phone, TV and laptop definitely is perfect

    • @RonaldvanArkel
      @RonaldvanArkel ปีที่แล้ว

@Sam CarLegion Not using a phone here but a home cinema with 5 speaker boxes (SVS prime tower with SONY 7.2 amp, two active SVS subwoofers), sorry to be not clear about that. Yes, on single or 2 speaker devices it sounds good, and you edited the video on a 2 speaker system as well I presume. But, if it is reproduced on a system with a center speaker, it will sound out of balance unless you switch to multi speaker stereo. I do not know how other channels do it on youtube, however, you might use a stereo mic to give it the professional sound your reviews deserve.
Take this as positive, in no way I'm negative about your reviews. Test it on a home cinema setup and you will hear (I must be one of few that use it... others might watch the 130USD/150CAD car review on a phone ;) ).
Edited to be a bit more clear.
