    Wonderful video!
    Looking forward to the facial mocap, which I have also been looking at recently via Live Capture (yes, it still works.)
    Thanks for all the hard work comparing these systems.

      Thanks Mike. I'm looking forward to it as well. There's some paid tools that will help give better results, but I'm really excited because I've finally found a completely free workflow :D

    Professional and wonderful video. There were a lot of things I didn’t know, and I benefited. Thank you very much. People like you should continue to publish more content and never stop. Thank you again. ❤

      Thanks mate, that’s really nice of you.
      I’m currently working on the facial capture video, so expect that soon.

    Thanks for doing this video test Jamie! Very interesting! My only comment is that you're wearing black, with black gloves, so you're probably making it quite difficult for a vision based mocap system to do a good job.

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah fair point. I tested the gloves by themselves, but not with the suit. Individually they worked quite well, but the combination of black on black May have thrown the results out a bit.

    Thank you for covering this topic. There is a specific task in which AI is still inferior to suits - when you need to capture close interaction between two or more characters. From all the alternatives Rokoko suits seem to be the most affordable.

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually it’s a bit unfortunate I didn’t try tracking multiple people at once. Would have been interesting to see if the quality dropped or not.
      The Rokoko suit is definitely one of the cheapest. If you’re looking to get one, maybe also give the Perception Neuron a look. Pretty sure they’re of similar price.
      Of course, I obviously have a bias towards Rokoko 😜

    Excellent video! two thing I would add, you can build tools to compensate for weakness of any motion capture system. Two if you are use a suit, try to record them as video as well, this should be pretty cheap, and lets test newer video algorithms!

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Haha, I'm working on it right now!
      Actually I should probably get back to it instead of procrastinating with TH-cam comments :P
      But ETA is next week some time.

    • @nyomanbandarayani6830
      @nyomanbandarayani6830 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quickmagic is better because you need 2 camera with Move AI, meanwhile you only need a video in quickmagic

    Have you tried the perception neuron or the shadow motion capture? How are they?

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Unfortunately I haven’t. Rokoko is the only suit I’ve personally tried. From what I’ve seen the Perception gives similar results, but their gloves only control two fingers and the thumb.
      I haven’t heard of Shadow before. Going to have to look them up!

    Hello there, have you tried Cascadeur for this matter as well?

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No I haven’t. From what I understand it sounds like mocap and Cascadeur would go hand in hand together.
      Have you used Cascadeur? What’s been your impression?

    • @noxxiisproject2075
      @noxxiisproject2075 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Personally, I am using quick magic for the motion and Cascadeur for the cleanup

    • @noxxiisproject2075
      @noxxiisproject2075 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Though, not religiously as I am still learning the ropes of Cascadeur.

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Oh that’s a solid idea. I imagine Cascadeur would be able to clean up a lot of those small errors. Probably a good way to bridge the gap between AI and a suit.

    • @nyomanbandarayani6830
      @nyomanbandarayani6830 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cascadeur is worse than quickmagic, but it is good to clean the animation by quickmagic. Meanwhile Rokoko bodysuit is worse than quickmagic, but Quickmagic doesn't have face capture.

    Awesome breakdown, Jamie.
    I'd love to be able to just turn on a camera and record mocap. AI is great and getting better but not quite there yet.

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’m pretty confident it’ll eventually get there, but no, not there yet.
      That said, MoveAI has a more advanced system that gives amazing results. It requires a bunch of cameras and the cost ends up being very similar to a suit. But the results also seem to be very similar.

    How long delivery takes to uk ??

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I live in Australia, so it takes a long time to get overseas deliveries here. And I ordered mine during the covid years and supply chains were all messed up. It took quite a while for mine to be delivered.
      But, I just had a friend in France get one. He said it took about a week to arrive.
      Rokoko is pretty good to deal with. I'm sure you could get a more accurate answer if you reached out to them.

    • @JamieDunbar

      There’s no restrictions I’m aware of. But double check with Rokoko if you have any concerns.

      @@creativecityis I actually did some videos a couple of years ago on mocap in Blender. It's a little old now, but aside from some UI changes everything should all work. The playlist is here:

    How do you find jobs once you invest in this equipment?

    • @JamieDunbar
      @JamieDunbar  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would strongly advise doing it the other way around. Use cheaper solutions such as AI, pre-made mocap or hand animation until you find enough work to justify spending big bucks on a suit.
      In terms of finding work, most of the good jobs I’ve landed have been through my network of other creators. I wouldn’t waste time with online job sites. Go out into your community and meet other creators and animators.

    I love Quickmagic AI and Wonder Studio (you can capture more than 1 person on that). But none of the AI is good at getting flips or acrobatic moves yet.

      Were you ever able to get your own characters into Wonder Studio? I tried it about a year ago and gave up 😅
