Night and day yo! Funny to say that it’s actually livable now… because I lived in it in such dire conditions for so long. I can’t go back to those days lol

Thanks for posting such a wonderful video.
It filled me with joy to see how your family's life has found it's rhythm in such a picturesque town.
You are a truly virtuous man full of wisdom.
Your daughter is a real cutie and reminds me of mine a dozen or so years ago. No need to remind you to cherish this time as you've already figured it out in spades.

Wow, you have a keen eye and a great ability for design. I noticed that there is a Power Point outlet really close to your kitchen sink faucet. I think there is a safety standard for the distance of a power outlet to where there is water. You might like to check it out.

I’ll check on that! The electrician ran that outlet and didn’t say anything.

Showing some lovely wildlife clips, much appreciated. The "amphibian" clip is in fact a Gecko, a "lizard" but the general punch-line after that is good fun build-up going from mammals, birds, insects and amphibians to humans. ;-)) Wonderful wildlife, surrounded all-round.

    • @DIYJapan
      @DIYJapan  หลายเดือนก่อน

You’re totally right lol 😆 he’s definitely a gecko and totally not a salamander otherwise my house would be on a river lol

your family is so cute! so inspiring and I hope I can have a workshop studio too! Glad the Kappa didn't get you, now for future Danny bringing back omens from the future, who can say?
in my small kitchen, Nitori came in clutch for the over sink dish rack. Also, thx for the stink bug heads up as they came cruising into my place so I did the catch and release outside trick

The stink bugs seem to have hit all of Japan hard! No one was spared I heard. I have to finish that Kappa story now that you mention it…

Another lovely video, Danny. Your home with all its wildlife and family is really good to see. Your new table is beautiful. That persimmon stain seems like some great stuff. I've seen it can be used to dye paper and fabric as well as wood.

I’ve seen people use the persimmon stain for cloth. It’s really pretty! Maybe I’ll try staining paper with it soon.

10:23 after the first sizable earthquake, you'll be rethinking that placement of those pots and pans hanging right in front of that window. 😉

    • @DIYJapan

I’m hopping the pots break the glass… It’ll give me an excuse to replace the ugly frosted glass on that side 🤣

    • @FirstLastOne

@@DIYJapan I figured there must have been a logical reason for those pots being placed there such as convenience but that's two birds, one stone level of thinking right there. 😆😁
