    That looks like a species of Jumping Spider to me, at 1min 30s? Very beautiful it is too. Appreciate the footage of wildlife including the Japanese Macaque. The beach can be one of the best "playgrounds" for children because there's so much natural sensory stimulation for them that is healthy for them to interact with almost effortlessly - wonderful to see your enjoyment together.
    What can be said about country living? For a lot of people they prefer the city and it is probably because they prefer high stimulus environments along with higher frequency social engagements, with lots of variety for this? The countryside can become more enjoyable if low stimulus environment is the preference in contrast but this may appeal to fewer people or at a different age in life. Beyond this criteria, the other main difference is as you suggest: How engaged and involved you find life to be, such as enjoying hobbies for usefulness and for the sake of the activity itself. I think then the country can be a world of opportunity as much as an urban environment and again developing high quality social connections is also positive.
    A lovely little video of a small part of your life. Thank you.

      Probably jumping spider lol I think everything you said is true. Although the city does have some perks, like the ability to have more human connection choices I.E. finding a mate for example... it didn't offer much time to enjoy life outside of work though. I think being surrounded by so many people was exhausting... and I suspect everyone feels the same way although they just didn't know it.
      Our connections with the people in our town now have been much more meaningful than the city even though we were surround by 10x the amount of people.

      I think this whole town is a perilous trap for kids to get hurt lol from cliff drops to water holes to being surround by the ocean. We just have to be vigilant about keeping an extra eye out.

    Ever worry about the kiddo being near the jellyfish? Not sure if they all sting.

    • @DIYJapan
      @DIYJapan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This type will definitely sting. We weren't swimming though. This time of year has a lot of jelly fish but they will disappear soon and then we can go swimming.

    Fun! Great filming and editing of such a lovely peaceful time in the countryside. The persimmon stain looks really nice, too. BTW, I used to drink a lot of kombucha (delicious and healthy), but apparently too much is not good for tooth enamel, so I cut back a bit.

      I heard the same thing... kinda like eating lemons. Some people say use a straw to drink it. It's great fun to make and experiment with flavors though.

      I really want a darker more blackish stain... these stains don't get too dark unfortunately. But it's great in restoring some of the faded beams of wood.

    Was that an orange tree up the hiking trail? You finding much handyman work there in town?

    • @DIYJapan
      @DIYJapan  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, orange tree which is weird being up in the mountain. I’ll try to do a full video of that area. It’s a strange area. I’ve been asked a little for handy work but not too interested in doing it… I’m just busy with my own things… but would be fun to try and video it some day.

    i want to live a life like that to but I'm second guessing japan for there (honor culture) natural disasters and the lack of Jung people like me (specially rural), but japan is honestly the most beautiful country so I'm conflicted.

      Some cities have younger people but some areas are mostly elderly. It helps to move with already having a family I think.
