I've watched this video two times. Once when I changed the hard drive and now a year later when I added some much needed RAM. Awesome video! I couldn't have done it without you sir! :-)

Thank you for posting this vid, I used it last year as a reference for upgrading my Acer E5-571P. There are some minor structural differences between my laptop and the one in the video, but all the screws, cables and wires were all in the same spot as in the video. Thanks to you, I was able to more confidently install 16GB RAM, an SSD and a secondary HDD for my college laptop. Again, thank you! And please, keep up the good work!!

I am extremely grateful to you for having made this video.
    It saved my bacon.
Why can't the manufactures make it easier to replace RAM and hard drives.
With older models there was a nice service panel.
Damn stupid that you have to take the entire motherboard out to replace the RAM..
Just more to go wrong if you damage one of the delicate wires or connectors.

They would never do that, since they want consumers to purchase an entirely new laptop when their current one encounters an issue. The only way you get easy access to the internals is if you purchase a business-class laptop.

Yes definitely - have to disassemble everything just to simply change memory modules, why cant they just simply leave them under trap doors like old days with screws like the old days leaving our lives simpler, but then again I can understand companies doing this as of the warranty thing ... I been fixing laptops since 1994 if not before and theres always been some form of a way for us to just to simply replace the memory modules for customers with in a few minutes instead taking ages.

Its not just Acer, there all doing it .. the fact is they dont want you breaking the warranty seals ..voiding the warranty or you end up opening it loosing half the screws !! and if your an engineer there doing it to make our lives a misery its too time consuming!! ... Apple are a joke !!!

    Thank you, kind sir.
I've managed to replace my HDD with a new SSD. Those thin cables got me anxious at first but you made it seem so simple that I tried, and it worked.
Sadly, my caddy adaptation in this model (9,5mm) did NOT work for either the SSD or the removed HDD. Windows would recognize either device, but it was completely inaccessible. Trying to format the SSD in the caddy made the PC hang and display corrupted sector messages. I connected both drives to my main PC and copied the drives there. Maybe I had a faulty caddy, who knows.

Venka other acer models had easily removable ram. This one, like mine appearantly had the ram cover plactic welded with the back panel. Yeah. I only wanted to add in an additional 1 stick of ram and ended up dissasembling the laptop. My hp was way easier to handle. Just slide off the back panel and bam, the ram and hdd is there, no screws required. (You will need a screw driver to remove the hdd from the hdd plate holder thingy though)

when installing windows u can separate partitions (take for eg. 200gb from the C disk so the D disk has its 200gb)
or install a partition manager which will do it for you, but since CD drive already took the letter D your next drive will be E, even tho you can change that also

I decided to take risks and do everything myself, and I got it, it's okay, super fast pc and super fast downloads.
I saved more or less 30 to 50 euros.

If you're replacing the keyboard, does Acer send you the whole top bezel with the keyboard on it, or do I have to disassemble the bezel to replace the keyboard? Thanks

this is the most pathetic design i have seen in a while. what happened to the easily removable cover to access the ram and hdd. Great video, i have to upgrade one of these ram and hdd, noticed it there was no panel on the back like the older models and found this video. now i know what im in for.

I've been getting this problem with my fan. it was fine when I first bought it but whenever it starts it sounds like that sound you get when you stick a plastic fork in a plastic fan. its the sound of the fan blades running against something. please help if you know what to do.
