@@andylacivita I spent the last 2 weeks watching your videos. Yesterday at 5am I finally emailed my resume to the 1 company I'm most interested in. I had a response at 9am to schedule a phone interview. I did the phone interview at 4pm, it went great. Today supposed to be more interviews involving other supervisors. The job is 600 miles away from where I live now.(I'm wanting to move my family and I to my home town) You are a very knowledgeable & inspirational. You're also a great teacher, you have a way of simplifying complicated issues. By the way I'm a blue collar worker in the HVAC/R trades. 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 😃 Being confident in job interviews involves mastering different phases, including self-description and answering popular interview questions.
01:50 🤔 When faced with questions about areas you lack experience, focus on positive reactions, emphasize what you can do, and explain how you quickly learn and adapt.
03:15 👍 Display a positive initial reaction, smile, and lean in when addressing questions about unfamiliar topics.
06:27 🙅‍♀️ Avoid negative body language like looking away, cowering, leaning back, or excessive fidgeting, as these undermine your confident demeanor.
08:46 📚 Focus on what you know and have learned, draw parallels with other experiences, and describe how you quickly adapt and learn new skills.
09:41 💪 Express enthusiasm for encountering new challenges, emphasizing that learning and growth are integral to your approach.
11:07 🙅‍♂️ Avoid negative behaviors like looking away, slouching, cowering, stalling, or excessive fidgeting, as they diminish your confident image.
13:00 💡 Apply the described formula to confidently handle questions about lacking specific experience, showcasing your adaptability and positive mindset.

I do all the time things that I have not done before. I am an architect. For example, one time my project was to make plans for the children's hospital. I had not done any hospitals before. Now I did, successfully. I study almost all other hospitals in my country; I studied what are the needs of the new hospitals, I studied hospitals in Europe and in the US, I went to all the seminars on medicine where the doctors talked about new needs in hospitals and new methods etc. From that all I made conclusions for my plans, also, of course, talked with my clients who represented the hospital. I also talked with other architects who have planned hospitals and who had experience with the process.
One other time, I worked as an event coordinator for a one-weekend seminar for engineers and architects. One of my tasks was to find sponsors! Guess how many times architects try to find sponsors? Never, it is not part of our education. But I did it. I had a list of phone numbers and I made phone calls every day. I have never liked selling or asking for money, but I did it.
I do not actually know, what it could be that could be too difficult for me. Ok, if someone asks me to go to the Moon in the rocket, I'd probably say "No, thank you!"

Some great tips. I had second interview 2 1/2 weeks ago with the same company. Felt confident that everything went well. Set a thank you that evening. Have set 2 emails and called the interviewer to follow up and set the owner a LinkedIn message. Haven't heard a peep from them. They are a very very small company. Like I said I thought it went well. You think at least they would email back and say sorry we went with another candidate.

Hi Andy! Today I've just been to a Zoom interview. It hasn't been the first experience of mine when I found myself emotionally influenced by the interviewer's attitude. When an interviewer is cold, didactic and dry, it breaks my confidence and my answering becomes non-liquid, especially when that interviewer just rattles the information off at the beginning of a conversation. Do you have some concrete advice how to handle it?
    Greetings from Budapest, Hungary!
