Drill Mario is so underrated, just having an active hitbox at all times makes shaking off so much bs very fun. Its ground pound using the drill means you can kill literally anything by groundpounding. Dont even get me started on how you are legit invincible in the ground. Its genuinely very broken and super fun.

Biyon Mario is actually the official English name for the long Mario Transformation.
The only source for this on the Mario Wiki is a link to a TH-cam video of the direct which makes no mention of it, and a Japanese website. I have no reason to believe that is the official English name, and I highly doubt it would be so obviously transliterated from Japanese.

I efel like the biggest weakness in SMB Wonder is the fact that it feels like its afraid of boring you, i really wish a lot of these wonder effects lasted longer than they did, because in my eyes a lot of them could've been explored more in longer bursts
The star falling one for example, imagine a stage where you had to try and find stars so the wonder effect didnt go away? so you frantically sped through a level to try and find some
Stuff like the palace and other ideas too, they just dont get explored in the slighest beyond just "hey that just happened, cool right?" and then end in less than a minute, let these wonder effects really show off!!! Find every single possible use out of it for a super unique level! Things like the shooting bowser head in every airship stage and the unimaginative boss fights also feels like a complete letdown to me
I understand the whole idea behind "not letting something go longer than it should" but in all honesty, I really feel like the team working on the game went a bit too far on that end
Dont get me wrong though, I think Wonder is a really good game, but honestly? an 8/10, and I'd personally say the modern Rayman games and Tropical Freeze are better
Ceave Gaming has a good segment on this topic, but in regards to the stars, it's not really possible to make Star powerups super interesting, because they don't actually do much. They make you invincible on a timer, and that's it. You play the game the exact same way, but you don't worry about enemies, and some damaging tiles are now safe to walk on. The most they can do is force you to speedrun through a spiked area or something similar, and Wonder has much better ways of forcing you to go fast. I think that if you tried to make a starfall wonder effect level longer, that would ultimately result in it being boring. Stars are interesting when they're rare and brief, but if you have one for too long, you realize how little it actually changes.
@@FoxIord I think there's potential in a stage where you're attempting to reach stars as fast as possible in order to not die (all the while doing some platforming), but there's other ways to get that frantic feeling, I agree.

I would legit go for a New Super Luigi U esque DLC for Wonder. I wouldn't even care if it was just 100% reused wonder effects for the whole thing either
Those puffy lifts, really aren't enemies and more of a platform that you stand on.
I'll acknowledge, the surprise tomb in the desert was actually an A or even S-tier for me. Unlike a lot of Desert levels which go for an ancient Egyptian aesthetic, Sunbaked Desert feels very much like it channels modern Egypt. The fact that they only evoke a more ancient aesthetic during this particular Wonder Effect feels like it's going for a sort of time travel-historical effect reminiscent of an actual trip to an ancient Egyptian tomb, and I was absolutely overjoyed when I played through it. Also it has probably the most underrated Wonder Effect music in the entire game.
Otherwise, list was more or less spot on for me, although I'd rate both Gnawsher and Bulrush effects higher.
New super Mario bros Wii was my first game ever and seeing how much better and more creative this game is, just so refreshing and wonderful. Wonder is so much fun. Love this game so much. 💫

Yeah, the bossfights in the game are a major hindrance, was also expecting a phase 2 for the final fight but it just... ended. :/

This is such an intresting type of list, cause most of your C and D ranks are my A and S ranks. It feels like you disregard theming and intent, which is where the effects shine.
My favorite wonder is the spiky ball form.

39:04 This one confused me for all the reasons you mentioned here, but I turned off the talking flowers, so my first time around, I didn't know that I was supposed to push the wall to the right, which resulted in death by crush. I thought that was rather cheap, honestly 🤬
Anyway, the "wonder effect" is that the Shovas are strong enough to push that big ass King Koopa statue. And I'm never gonna stop calling him King Koopa
The game is awesome but the music levels are by far its worst aspect imo. I find them cringe, annoying and just kinda pointless. Except for the Ninji one because that's like the best level in the whole game :D
Meh… Idk man… It could just be my bias towards Donkey Kong Country games, but I still think Tropical Freeze is better.

Maaaaan I dunno. Even as a fan of your content & Knowing you're a generally chill dude & not feeling like "emotionally attached" to Wonder as much as I love the game, I STILL felt you were being way too overly harsh and focusing too hard on the negatives/ being way way too nitpicky for such a huge chunk of this vid I had to stop watching lmao. Rough. I liked the idea of naming the tiers non negative terms and implying no wonders were bad but then you go and say "c tier" and "d tier" anyway and straight up call so many of them bad LMAO
