Anita Nowak has spent the past 15 years studying how empathy can change our lives, our workplaces, and the world. In this deeply personal talk, she describes why empathy is on the decline, why this matters to our wellbeing, and how the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework can help us elevate our empathic consciousness. ANITA NOWAK, PhD, is an empathy expert, author, speaker, podcaster, award-winning educator, certified coach, and founder of Purposeful Empathy by Design, a boutique advisory firm that helps purpose-driven organizations create cultures of empathy and social impact.
Passionate about mentoring the next generation of change-makers, she teaches Leadership, Ethics in Management, and Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation at McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management. She is also an instructor with the McGill Executive Institute.
Her debut book, Purposeful Empathy: Tapping Our Hidden Superpower for Personal, Organizational, and Social Change was published by Broadleaf Books in April.
