Thanks Mato! Initially I did not understand why a marathon of Paul Keres games. After doing a little research as you suggested I now understand why they call Keres "crown prince of chess"! He is in my top 10 list now.

Guess all the Romantic/19th c games with Queen sacrifices, etc, kinda spoil one into viewing big stakes, positional games as kinda drab. That said, I am pleasantly surprised to see the excitement contained in modern games, especially the ones with Tal.

But there is a way out for black in the position where he resigned and he missed the winnig move big time: Kxc3!! taking advantage of the fact that black king is sitting on a horse! On move 23 the bishop took the the knight on b6 and when the king recaptured the bishop on b6, the horse of that brave dead knight was still there and the king mounted it without anyone noticing.

After Keres's Na5, Byrne played b6. That seems to have opened up the game to Keres's advantage. Was b6 the best move?
