    When I'm solving chess puzzles, I imagine your voice saying: "White played a move, and black resigned"

    I admire how Keres managed to squeeze an advantage in so much simplyfied position after all the exanges at the beggining

    Thanks Mato! Initially I did not understand why a marathon of Paul Keres games. After doing a little research as you suggested I now understand why they call Keres "crown prince of chess"! He is in my top 10 list now.

    kares opponents knew that what he was trying to do but failed to stop him. That's the most impressive thing i found about him. His strategy were very simple but effective at the same time. thanks mato for paul Kares's games.

    Good game but not a beautiful one. It is more like a Magnus Carlsen game. But I love all your videos Mato. I watch every hour, until there is a new one. Before you started the Paul Keres video series, I have never heard of him. You honour him with these videos and thank you that I know about him and his games now.

    "Keres had white pieces and he started with E4"
    "Robert Byrne played C5"
    "Knight to E2"
    "And Byrne... Resigned..."

    After Keres's Na5, Byrne played b6. That seems to have opened up the game to Keres's advantage. Was b6 the best move?

    It feels like every time you show a pro gameplay where sicilian defense is played black loses. Does anyone else has this feeling?

    • @MoonBurn13
      @MoonBurn13 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maxvr9999 On many chess channels it seems, in the games chosen, Black no sooner castles than he’s beating back White making holes in Black’s castle walls - usually to no avail!

    Guess all the Romantic/19th c games with Queen sacrifices, etc, kinda spoil one into viewing big stakes, positional games as kinda drab.
    That said, I am pleasantly surprised to see the excitement contained in modern games, especially the ones with Tal.

    But there is a way out for black in the position where he resigned and he missed the winnig move big time: Kxc3!! taking advantage of the fact that black king is sitting on a horse! On move 23 the bishop took the the knight on b6 and when the king recaptured the bishop on b6, the horse of that brave dead knight was still there and the king mounted it without anyone noticing.

      Then I check response to the video. Viewers give me feedback and I correct mistakes. Once I uploaded unedited video instead of edited one. Hmm. That looked bad. I coughed, talked to myself etc.
