+Tusshar Shanker same here !!! I am beating non stop now my computer after one week of playing at lvl 6 (out of 10 lvls) , while before meeting this uber super cool Mato , I had serious problems at lvl 3 !!!! indeed Thank You Mato ! ! !
Mato thank you for putting your time to make these amazing videos. We really appreciate it and you are doing an amazing job. Please don't stop doing this , i am watching your videos anytime &anywhere.
Fantastic! That man was an amazing player! I didn't know nothing about him, but now you show me more of Keres, I've liked so much! He looks a bit like Kasparov! (I think)
Great video Mato!
+Orlando Romero after Qxh6, black queen can take on e5 or sth, and then after Qh7 Kf8 and still not mate. Can't see that i'm sorry, i'm still new to chess :D But you are right about my first question, thanks.
At the end instead of sacrificing the rook, would not bishop to F6 have been a better move? I understand the rook was still a winning move, but I think the bishop was better.
I just don't see how guys like Keres can visualize the board so many moves ahead, then work through all the possibilities. Instructive yes, but mostly humbling.
+ranchump Keres gained many things. For one , the knight that was taken by the rook was attacking e5 causing Keres to devote his Q to it's defense. But also that same knight had the potential to cause Keres untold mischief in conspiracy with the Q. So Keres got rid of it and ,in the process, positioned his pieces for the execution.
I honestly feel I have learnt more from the Keres series than any other player. Thank you Mato

+Tusshar Shanker I'm loving it too. Lots of commenters have complained about too much Keres, but these games are really good and instructive.
I agree, the thinking seems to have an extra level of depth. Can't stop watching them. Thank you Mato!!
It is always great to see your videos. Thanks for sharing and great style.
Love your vids Mato. Please keep them coming.
Literally 2016 should just be Paul Keres
Another amazing game with brilliant analysis by Mato.
Mato thank you for putting your time to make these amazing videos. We really appreciate it and you are doing an amazing job. Please don't stop doing this , i am watching your videos anytime &anywhere.
I still come back to your videos on Keres Mato! You’re the only person who made videos on him like you did! He’s my third favorite player of all time!
Mine too
Mato is in love with Keres hahaha
I missed twice- on the sac exchange and I fell into the trap. Ah well, I'll dust myself off and have some pasta for a patser.
Fantastic! That man was an amazing player! I didn't know nothing about him, but now you show me more of Keres, I've liked so much! He looks a bit like Kasparov! (I think)
These videos are so cool. Its a very very interesting way to study amazing chess
Very good video, thanks for uploading Mato .
Mato, take thanks and respect for your videos from Russian friend))) You are really good man.
Isnt Nxe7 a better continuation at 1:40?
Great video Mato!
+Pacha Washón Reds Guilló Estoy en acuerdo en que se alarga el juego un poquito mas. Keres se lo va comer comer como el jaguar al conejito!
Totalmente de acuerdo Orlando!
Saludos!
Paul Keres, you are now on my top 5 greatest chess players! Symslov move to 6th spot... Nice one!
+Jaysen Reyes And who are the other players? :)
+Jaysen Reyes Why? There are dozens of other accomplished players who would be made to look God-Like if Mato chose to highlight their best games.
+Multiscrime 5th Keres 4th Botvinnik 3rd Kasparov 2nd Fischer 1st Tal
+geonerd Keres is the player to have beaten the most world champions. So you're wrong in assuming there are many players of his level
apart from nice chess ideas, two things i learned from this mini series would be:
1) keres was a badass and
2) dont play sicilian vs keres :p
5:47 after Kf8 Qh8+ Ke7 Qf6 mate also works, right? And what happens if Kg8 instead of Kf8? Couldn't find this.
Qf6 is not mate; king just goes back to f8
+Mike Ehrmantraut Qf6 is check not checkmate because K can shuffle on to f8. As for Kg8, then Q x h6 and nothing can stop mate at Q to h7.
+Orlando Romero Mate can be stopped simply by playing Kf8
+Orlando Romero after Qxh6, black queen can take on e5 or sth, and then after Qh7 Kf8 and still not mate. Can't see that i'm sorry, i'm still new to chess :D But you are right about my first question, thanks.
Ok, OK, we will never doubt you again Mato!
Brilliant !!!
Yes, match to learn from 👍
Why not bishop to g6 straight away at 5:31, instead of sacrificing castle
At the end instead of sacrificing the rook, would not bishop to F6 have been a better move? I understand the rook was still a winning move, but I think the bishop was better.
At 4 : 45 after a black Qxe5, how about Rg5 and the black Q checks are not enough with g7 in peril ?
if Rg5 , queen goes to d4 and protect the g7 and if white wants to take g7 Ne2 but it isn't true , because Qxb2+ and plan was fail.
I just don't see how guys like Keres can visualize the board so many moves ahead, then work through all the possibilities. Instructive yes, but mostly humbling.
Why not king g8 after Queen f6?
bravoo bravoo sir mato very good game nice choice by u
I love this video
Why did he throw away the rook in the first rook sac?
i dont understand the initial rook sac. what did he gain????
Winning the game haha
+ranchump Keres gained many things. For one , the knight that was taken by the rook was attacking e5 causing Keres to devote his Q to it's defense. But also that same knight had the potential to cause Keres untold mischief in conspiracy with the Q. So Keres got rid of it and ,in the process, positioned his pieces for the execution.
+ranchump He brought the king in the open space, where the queen could attack him. And then there was no way to prevent check mate.
I thought he was going to sac Q on f6 then p x p B - h7 and R - g8 ch. mate.
Very nice
All I can think of when I hear the name Keres is Father Karras from The Exorcist.
what if after Qf6+ Kg8 ?!
At 4:41 why not just go H7 with the Queen?
+PeerPressing What do you win by that? Your rook is also hanging.
Then king runs away to f8, e7, d8 with a happy journey, plus the black queen eyes your hanging rook.
+PeerPressing Then , after queens were exchanged : black : 2 rooks = 10 points, 1 bishop = 3 points and 5 pawns = 5. black 18 points.
white: 1 rook = 5, 1 bishop = 3, 1 knight = 3 and 5 pawns = 5. white 16 points and no attack. Easy win for black.
Thx guys. Got it now :p
I missed the trap.. the pawn push looked obvious but I had no clue why lol
I fell into a trap : ( I wondered "why would Szabo make such an obviously bad move?" and didn't bother answering the question, I just took the bait!
GM's with Paul names were pretty good. :-D
Hello Mato! Great videos. Please pronunce it like Sub-O. It's more like it, you know I have the same familiy name. Greetings from Hungary!
Where are you from?
So if white Qh7+ you'll wind up with a Queen trade and black with two rooks and a bishop against White's rook, knight and bishop
Hook, line, and sinker, fell in I
"Keresh" and "Zobo"; Hrvatska is neighboring Hungary, and almost neighboring Italy and all the other European languages :-).
impressive, only by getting rid of the knight solved the game, brilliant
did keres ever win as black?
+Van Rozay Watch: Keres playlist
amazing attack. Keres me all the way to 2017
Best move for black was Qb5 before he move h6.
Please show games won by black
Lázló Zábó was born in Budápeszt :D
i fell for the trap : 0
I find yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeS
I fell for the trap
If you did, no congratulation😅
