dude i watch a few gaming review channels but yours has to be one of the most under rated channels on youtube. i found myself hitting play all and binge watching as i go to sleep every night this last week. your content is simply phenomenal. the script is so well written. with the perfect mix of facts, opinions and humor. the subtle jokes only a more mature audience would appreciate have me literally laughing out loud time and time again. its an absolute joy watching your content. when i first found your channel about a week ago i wondered how you werent employed by one of the large game review channels. ill say it again, the script is just so well written. your use of the english language is simply genius. they say people who use swear words are more intelligent and your a perfect example of this. ign, gameranx, they would kill for a writer like you. however im glad your independent as you can stay true to yourself and thats the crux of your channel. and its not all fluff. you come across as genuinely having tested each game with detailed explanations on the positives and negatives of each title. this results in a review that an audience can feel they can trust. a genuine oppinion based on facts and propper testing. keep up the good work. your channel deserves all the attention it can get. Happy new year dude. i hope this channel blows up. best wishes. what an absolute joy this channel is.
@@oscarmike47 Wow, this is quite the comment to read and to say I’m humbled by it would be an understatement. As a small channel, you really do wonder if you’re doing well or not, so feedback like this is truly the best and most rewarding part of it. I honestly wish I could do this full time and create even more content for you, but alas I have a full time job and a family, so playing the games on top causes a bit friction with the dear old wife! The most satisfying part of all of this is your wonderful words around the balance of the script. I always wanted this to be a gaming channel first and foremost. Genuine reviews. But there was never enough opinion or honesty in so much content out there so a smattering of banter was always my intention. I spend a lot of time on the script as I feel it’s always a more polished video than just going for it on the fly so I’ll make sure I keep this effort up! Sorry, it’s a long reply to basically repeat what you wrote out, but it’s stuff like this which means the world to me so I can’t thank you enough for giving up your own time to type it all out. I’ve said a few times before, but the this channel belongs to you all now. I’ve changed it a lot since its early days, more energy, less cockney slang and that’s based on all your feedback, and this comment here will just add to improving this channel yet again. Thank you again, honestly the best start to the year. Thank you!
@@cockneygamer its well deserved mate. i consume a lot of youtube (dont comment much) so i can spot quality. theres so much monotonous stuff out there trying to accommodate for everyone with generic content so its very refreshing to find a channel that has its own identity and flare. i love its less "family friendly" nature. something for us more mature audiences. you have a genuine feel to your videos. when you give a positive review one can tell you really enjoyed the game ur not just saying it because every other youtuber is singing its praises. same goes for games you dislike. and altho i find myself not always agreeing i fully appreciate the oppinion of another gamer. anyway i could go on and on. i have put a thumbs up on your last 50 videos. i hope that helps out with the analytics. glad i could make your day :D
Fantastic look back at 2023 - gaming still struggling but some gems & fun still out there. How some of you’re videos don’t get more views & comments I don’t know but you’re a fav of mine maybe it’s the Reggie honesty & humour - late to this one, hope 2024 winter season saves us from the poor 2024 so far!
Happy new year man! I can see a 5k celebration coming up this year! It feels wild that I subbed when you barely had 200 subs and now we’re looking at 5k, great video :)
Happy new year, hope the new baby is doing good and I'm sure that you will at least triple your sub count in 2024 if you keep it up! but I have to be honest in the beginning when I saw that brew pub simulator gameplay I was worried that was going to be on this list 😆
Haha… thank you mate, appreciate that a lot. Yes, I didn’t want to ruin the list in that opening edit sequence! If you look closely, there is even “The Day Before” in there which is arguably the worst game ever made. Hoping people didn’t switch off! Have a great start to your New Year!
Dave the Diver is not an Indie, it was published by Nexon, a company with 7000 employees and almost a 1 billion USD revenue. On the other hand, Larian Studios is independent.
That’s a great point and an interesting debate that’s come up a few times as it was nominated for best Indie game at a few awards now. This article sums it up quite nicely in what is considered Indie and why Dave the Diver was nominated as such: kotaku.com/tgas-dave-the-diver-indie-game-geoff-keighley-debate-1851049334
@@cockneygamer I am aware that during the game awards, Dave the Diver was nominated as an "indie". That is just another example that the Game Awards has no idea what an "indie" means. The list is still legit, just it would be more professional to describe games and their devs correctly. I didn't wanted to word my comment as a critism, just as a clarification. Nevertheless... Happy new year and good luck with the little one :) Don't forget to make him/her a PC player!
No I think you raise a very good point. The word “indie” is banded about quite a bit these days. So it’s great you raise this and offer that insight! Edit: and happy new year!
@@cockneygamer Thank you for your reply, especially at this late hour! I think that the "mainstream" (i hate that phrase) considers everything "indie" that doesn't come with top notch graphics, but by definition, even CDPR and CP2077 can be considered as an indie because it is self published by an independent studio... I think at this point we should just stop trying to put games into such arbitrary categories. Games are games, good games are good games no matter who made them, that is why i said i absolutly agree with your list about the best games of 2023. BUT!!! No matter what, just please keep doing whatever you do!
Happy New Year to all of you who tune in from around the globe. Let's hope 2024 brings us a bit more gaming joy! Reggie xxx
