can't agree more on the difficulty to zipup around the bend; in my case putting the vaseline helped a lot, at least making it smoother for the zipper to move up.
Under heavy rain water will eventually get into that large hole of any waterproof cycling shoe. I found that a pair of drysuit ankle seals over the top of the neoprene cuff can be used to stop water getting in with a minor mod/ hack it's 10% sorted.
Love these boots... I've tried numerous winter shoes over the years and nothing has come close to these. I totally agree that the fastening system could do with a rework, I find tucking the lace under the inside ankle bone helps along with zipping them up while standing and your foot forward on a step... I also add a little wd40 to the zip after cleaning. 😃
@@KajsaTylen They are PERFECT for all the different types of weather here in Minnesota! Feet were toasty warm and dry after the first test. We experienced 17 inches of snow last friday! Happy feet!!
Great shoes! I wear it down to -20°C with a merino sock. After three years of using Fizik Artica, the seam on the right aqua-zip began to diverge. Maybe because I have a high instep. Took a size larger. Probably the next will have to take a half.
Interesting. I have Nothwave Cesius boots which are nice and warm but on long rides in heavy rain they eventually give up on the idea of being waterproof. Yours look like a step up from those.
Nice review, the big hole is always the issue in winter boots as the rain runs down your legs and fills the boots up. I use a pair of sealskinz mid length waterproof socks if expecting heavy rain so my feet stay dry and warm despite sloshing in rain water. Definitely a rugged looking pair of winter boots.👍
Hi Kajsa, great video, fantastic review. You've sold them to me, even though I don't need them as I don't have cleats on my bike! Nice to see you reviewing something that is actually worn by you, unlike the sales pitch you get on T.V. Already waiting on your next video. See you then.
Great review. I think I might try a pair of these. I have narrow feet and small ankles, so I suspect that I won't have too much trouble with the zip. I generally don't like sealed zippers, as I find they lose waterproofness before everything else, but since it's backed up by a membrane it's probably ok. And since temps rarely go below 0°C here in Vancouver, this seems like it would be plenty warm.
@@KajsaTylen I've got three commutes on these boots now. Some early impressions: These look great, are really comfortable for my wonky feet, and wonderful to walk in. I'm very pleased that I can wear anything from thin to thick socks and they still fit comfortably. It gives the shoe a wide useable temperature range. I have only had some light drizzle so far, so I haven't yet seen how they withstand an hour commute in steady rain. Fingers crossed. They may have heeded complaints about the length of the speed lace. They don't seem as ridiculously long on mine, but that might just be a factor of size. Maybe they use the same lace on all sizes, so the smaller your shoe the longer the lace. I do have concerns about the longevity of the sealed zipper and the plastic speed-lace thingy. I keep shoes for a long time, and I hope these don't make these boots useless before their time. Still, I'm very pleased so far.
Good info tip for dry feet in crazy rain first 3/4 pants shaven legs why you ask because i duct tape the boots around ankle not too tight and then you have dry feet water runs down your legs over your shoes no wet feet .
Waterproof ? I dont think so. Mine got wet all the way through the other day, but i was raining cats and dogs, so maby the water came in in the top. I took a couple of dayes drying up. They are nice, comfy and warm, but next time im out in the rain, I will wear my grip grap raincover :-)

Got a pair myself. love toasty warm feet in cold winter mornings!

Oh that's a good idea!! 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!
After tightening I take the extra cord and wrap it around my ankle and back around so it sits near the front without interference from the slack.
Awesome review! Look forward to putting these to the Minnesota winter cycling season test!! Cheers!
Hope you love them as much as I do!

Wondering that myself, go half size or one size up.
The long lace has probably been designed like that so you can wrap it around your hand and pull it really tight!
Thanks helped me decide to get them! 😊
Hope you don't regret it (I'm sure you won't)! 🙂

We'll see how my hack goes - maybe I'll have found the secret to dry feet!

Thank you. I've got some of those socks but I've barely worn them, maybe a should try them out with these boots! 👍
Great real world review! Great quality too! Cheers 😁
Thank you!!

Curious about your waterproof hack
Lovely review! Quick question, does the back of the shoe has a reflector/ reflective emblem?
I've just checked and my shoes are so dirty now that I can't tell for sure but I don't think so! 🙁

Thanks Kajsa, nice review. BTW I like your top, never seen that brand before in the UK.
Thanks! Think I got the top from SportPursuit a few years back, it's really nice. 🙂

I've yet to try that combo. Let me know if it works
@@KajsaTylen it does with my normal bicycle shoes, so it will with my fizik i’m sure 😉
Where is Puck the Duck?
I didn't even realise he wasn't in the shot, he was sitting behind me! 😳
Not wide enough
Oh.
