Glad my daughter is not going back to teaching she's got a part time job in a school whilst someone is on maternity leave and it's only infants but when that finishes that she's not going back to teaching. She's a scientist as well

Affirming a child's fantasy is a dangerous thing. What happens when they realise they are not, as in this case, a cat?
Well, we all had silly fantasies as kids and a fertile imagination is a good thing but it's the job of a parent and a teacher to reign it in and bring in an adult sensibility and grounding. A huge part of this that adults now aren't mature in the way they think, reason and interact with the World.
After that natural selection will take its course. We as a society don't need people like that as nobody is benefiting from it, it may sound like a sick thing to say but its true.

There is a British guy out there who does/did identify with being a cat, long before these gender issues became mainstream politics, and so in his 30s/40s he got a whole lot of cosmetic surgery to have synthetic whiskers attached and other cat like features. Ten years later there was a follow up documentary and the guy deeply regrets having the surgery done which can't really be undone.
I wondered if it goes as far as her eating cat food and doing using a litter tray in the corner. It likely doesn't.
It is child abuse and we should all call it out as such!

The teachers despicable for allowing this nonsense. Imagine if she went to a job interview when she leaves school and said she's a cat.
My question is; what the hell are parents doing? Are they just rolling over or are they telling governers, teachers and school managers that this criminal and abusive behaviour stops NOW or there will be consequences?
Yes we as parents as a whole need to say enough is enough. However, parents of children who have been twisted with these lies are in a very precarious position with gender affirming therapists and drs. In California the other day they enacted a bill to take children from parents if they didn’t automatically confirm and start ‘appropriate’ medical care, Canada has also barred parents from their children in these circumstances. 10 years ago if you had said the state would be taking children with mental health issues from parents to sterilise them you would have been laughed out of the building by people on all sides, people didn’t believe it was happening, their not laughing any more are they.

Home schooling is the only way to teach them right, the government asked for this, leave your job and claim benefits so you can school your child right, when the government complain nobody's in work and paying taxes tell them that they failed to protect your children so you had to leave work to do so yourself. My 6 yo son thinks he is Batman but he knows it is just pretend. It is truly frightening that we have people like this teacher in our school system influencing very young and naive children with their disturbing ideologies.

I played Supergirl as a child.. Robin Hood, thank God I never jumped out a window.. why didn't I try? I knew I'd die or get into a whole lot of trouble with my parents or both. My parents made sure I understood a difference between my imaginative world and reality.
My nephew with autism lived as spiderman for a few years when he was a kid. And we let him. But that translated into him wearing a costume, playing with action figures, and us calling him Peter Parker. He didn't go poison himself or get surgeries, and eventually one day he dropped his costume and never pretended to be Peter again.

I have to wonder if its even safe to let teachers like this be around kids. Time was schools would just teach the pure facts of biology and safe behavior and leave all these other political ideas to the families.

Whoever authorised the 'lesson' which was included in the teacher's training programme should be exposed and questioned as to the reasons why such rubbish is included in education at all. Did the teacher learn how to communicate with the cat, if not was an interpreter brought in. Were the cat's needs really takern into consideration ie, toilet facilities and food option. I used to pretend and PLAY at being a horse or a cat when I was a child over 50 years ago. I was a horse when I wanted to run around, a cat when I wanted to lay around. Even as a child I knew that I wasn't a horse or cat, I was playing. Another subject, there are way too many children/adults being diagnosed as Autistic these days - back in the 60s/70s/80s we didn't hear of Autism.
Absolutely, Kari. I only see autism displayed in children , not in grown-ups. I often wondered with so many inoculations given at childhood, are they nefarious. The more we progress as a species, the unhealtier, and sicker we are.
I was diagnosed as autistic when I was 35 years old and suddenly everything about my childhood, why I felt and acted different, made sense. As an adult I still have characteristics which some people pick up on and recognise as autism but I lead a pretty much normal life.

I've no issue with more people being diagnosed if it's due there being a greater understanding of Autism. What bothers me is what I call "lazy labelling". I used to work in an FE college and we had so many students demanding adjustments for exams because they had dyslexia, dyscalculia etc. For anyone who actually has such a condition - absolutely yes, adjustments could be made. However, we needed to see a copy of their formal diagnosis, made by a suitably qualified professional. Especially with claims of dyslexia, probably 19 in 20 of theose students had never been formally assessed, just labelled 'dyslexic' by a school teacher who found it the easy option.

Moreover as I wasn't diagnosed with autism until I was an adult, that meant I attended normal school, normal classes, normal exams, ending up with good GCSE grades. Thinking about it now if I had been diagnosed with autism back then, I might have been treated much differently and even put unnecessarily into a special needs class which would have held me right back.
