- Piers Morgan says he would identify as a cat - if it wasn't for the fact he's quite clearly human.
A teacher told a pupil she was “despicable” after she refused to accept her classmate could identify as a cat.
The incident occurred during a Year 8 class on 'life education' at Rye College in East Sussex last Friday, where students were told to 'be who you want to be - and how you identify is up to you'.
Piers Morgan says: "I snack a lot, enjoy regular naps, have higher than average intelligence... and everywhere I go, people want to stroke my chin and call me cute."

The kids were not "bullying someone for thinking they're a cat." The kids were questioning the validity of that and disagreeing with it. They were not even allowed to disagree or hold their own beliefs.
Incorrect, I actually used to attend this school and personally know the teacher and the students in question. The video was actually cut! They cut out the part where they are BULLYING the kid who for the record doesn’t actually identify as a cat. The kids who recorded this have in question been removed from the school for filming illegally and bullying a child who has autism AND on top of that ruining a teachers life. This is totally stupid and these kids need to learn not to be so ignorant and uneducated!

Unfortunately the whole situation has been painted out to make the teacher look like the bad guy whereas in fact there are a few uneducated students who think bullying a kid with mental health issues is appropriate

The fact that Ava condescends to a gay man and accuses him of not caring about gay people, then misrepresents what his book is about because she hasn't actually read it, shows the level of stupidity that Ava has. A journalist as young and inexperienced as her wouldn't have been given air time a few years ago, but apparently a BA in English (2018) is now all the training you need if you're connected to join a minor publication and be given air time.
As a teacher the teacher should fired. We are told as teachers to never show a bias towards politics as it’s a form of radicalisation. Same here this teacher should be sacked pending investigation into this. Simple as.
I don't know what type of school your working in. Teachers have to conform or they are fired. They are under the same pressure to accept this corruption and teach it.....I'm speaking as someone who has been in many classrooms and meetings.

At a school near me a child is tolerated identifying as a ‘werewolf’ . This is mad, and 12 year olds are far too old to be disruptive by acting out fantasies in school. This behaviour may be tolerated in nursery schools but should be forbidden in secondary education.(disgusted ex-teacher)

The teacher did NOT say bullying is not acceptable in any form, be kind etc. That WASN'T mentioned.
The teacher actually bullied the 2 kids who rightly questioned her.

When I was in primary school at playtime I often pretended to be Chewbakka and a friend of mine was Hans Solo but when we returned to the classroom we reverted back to actually reality. Kids have great imaginations which is fantastic but they need adults to be the sensible influence teaching them about the REAL world!
There's a time and a place to exercise your imagination and that's not in class where it disrupts the learning of other children.

If that student GENUINELY believes they’re a cat then until I see them walking on all fours, using a litterbox (that won’t get cleaned often enough), and then licking themselves clean afterwards obviously, eating nothing but tinned cat food from the pet shop, and of course, hunting mice and rats and eating them RAW - as that’s a big treat for “cats” - I will never believe them and just assume they’re just doing it to seek attention.
The original version of the hoax that went around North America about two years back actually did claim these kids were being provided boxes by the schools...which was very obviously bullshit, and a lot of people were quick to catch that it was, in fact, bullshit.

I think you can generalise when it's clear that children are increasingly thinking they are something they are not and people are going along with it.
The teacher is 100% in the wrong but this child is most likely in normal development it's just that she is being encouraged to act in a way she probably doesn't even believe in. She needs to be told that it's not appropriate for a classroom and let it be done with. I am quite proud of the girls for standing up to authority

Teachers all turned a blind eye to bullying when i was at school. I got jumped by 11 lads who were kicking me in the head, a teacher came out the class room seen it and went back in quickly. Nobody can tell me teachers would stop bullying back in the day. The bullies forced people to change schools, no teachers ever interfered with bullying.
Would a cat call him/herself a human? No. Would a dog call him/herself a human? No. An horse? No. A cat is a cat, an horse is an horse, a dog is a dog & a human is a human.

I can’t believe she wasn’t concerned enough about a kid acting like a cat & the teacher doing nothing? I think if I was the teacher I would have told the class to wait while she brought the child to the Principals office to let them deal with the situation. That child needs to be told they will fend for themselves, can’t eat in the lunchroom or dinner table, etc. maybe the kid was trying to prove a point.
The teacher of my daughter in nursery told her that she can be anything she likes when she grows up, even a boy. This happened when my daughter was 3. The teacher then went on to study children psychology. You can imagine how she is going to "heal" the mental issues of all the kids unfortunate to be brought to her by their parents.
And there isn't a law to protect these kids from her. This is why I keep telling my kid that what teachers say is sometimes wrong.
