You included some gems! I plan on moving to DC for law school and know I will definitely look at the big apartment buildings first.

My favorite 'DC' neighborhood is Arlington, VA. It is beauitful, clean, plenty of housing options, great public services, great transit options and amazing proximinity to the center of the city. It's closer to downtown than many DC neighborhoods!

I never knew that about Arlington. On my latest visit to DC my friend drove me around to different neighborhoods in DC and she saved Arlington for last. And I was truly shocked at the housing options, public transit and how close in proximity to DC.

@@KeziahWestwood people who live in DC love to mock Arlington for some reason. I'll meet people who live near the Maryland border but still technically in the district and they'll act like they have some superiority complex. Like they live farther from downtown than me and also don't have a metro but because they live before the imaginary line that separates DC and Maryland somehow they "could never imagine living in Arlington *shudders*"

      I think Clarendon/Courthouse is a good area.

I am on a fixed income(social security and my pension), I visit the District quite often as my neice lives there. I know it's expensive but the areas I like are Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, U Street Corridor, and where my neice lives, the Georgia Pentworth neighborhood. As I live in New York City now, transportation isn't a problem for me moving to DC

I'm from NYC and I love Dupont Circle because it seems great and reminds me of Chelsea

My all time favorite neighborhood is Woodley Park. Close to public transportation, walkable neighborhood, a lot of food options etc.

      Can't argue with that!

Woodley Park vibe is very welcoming and interesting visually with the trees and landscape.

I really love 14th street north of logan circle, I'm not sure if that would be the U street area but it's so wonderful! Homey, charming, and lively, it made me feel kinda like a local without being one :D
