Great job! I am planning a similar mod but thinking about doing stacked volume/tone knobs for each pickup. Do you feel like you can shape the tone as much as you need with the single tone knob and ability to blend the pickups with the separate volume knobs, or would further refinement by individual tone knobs be helpful still?
I'm too new to bass to provide the best feedback. I certainly prefer this new setup over the switch though. Didn't like the volume drops with the switch.
Separate tone knobs (like on the early Jazz Basses) do offer a very slight advantage in the variation of tone over the single tone knob, but at least for me, not enough to make up for the hassle of having one more knob to mess with. You could also do a stacked volume/volume and separate master tone without doing any routing on your bass. That is a great way to go, in my opinion. I have a PJ Precision with that setup and I love it. I wish my Jazz bass was like that too. It's great because you can adjust both volumes exactly the same if you want to keep the 50/50 split, or you can move the top part of the knob or bottom part of the knob separately to adjust one pickup at a time. Nice thing is that it is all on one knob rather than two separate knobs. Then the other knob is just the master tone like usual.
Great vid. I just love the mods you did on your bass. Thanks for sharing
Really cool, thx for the output knowledge

@@christocr Can you please share what to purchase for the double stack (volume/tone) controls and wiring diagram?
