Thank you, and thanks for stopping by! It's ironic that the first day I decide to do some off-stream runs I actually get the pb, kinda wish it happened live lol.
Samus blasting RBX with the normal arm cannon is hilarious, although its a shame that since the cutscene was skipped i didnt get to see what the X being destroyed looks like
We use another file to setup a glitch called bomuhey skew state. It carries over to the run file so we can do wallclips with it. Later in the run we have the upgrades necessary to set it up but early on the only way to get it is from another file.
This is played in the current patch so any glitch you've seen in the run is still doable. Any% NMG now has its own route with screw attack short boost and, of course, no clips.
Correct. Ledge warp was first used to get invincibility but turns out unmorphing is what did it, not the ledge warp. So yeah the only thing that got patched was invincibility.
I feel pretty up to speed on speedrunning but I have no clue what a multi file run does for dread. Does it help gaining skew or load triggers or something? Awesome run, I’ve tried some of these tricks out and even the beginning emmi reroute took me a while to get the hang of.
Thats right! On multi file you're allowed to either start the run with skew already set, or switch files mid-run to set up. So compared to single file the early game is a bit different since we can do clips there
see this is why this game needed to be patched rapidly because there were so many glitches that potentially broke the game and a lot of players to beat it in less than an hour Plus your hands must be dead from all the button spamming you did
Damn bud, you just made up an entire paragraph lol Invincibility was the only relevant glitch that was patched in v1.0.3. Most of the glitches you see in this run were not even known back then, we're talking glitches found up to 1-2 years after the patch. The fastest times back then were around 1h11 with invincibility. And my hands are fine thanks. Hope that clears it up for anyone reading the comments.
Holy crap! Dread's speedrun is now officially faster than Super Metroid's! GG insane run!
I feel like this is the best game in history to feature how to abuse movement tech in a well-designed game
Breath of the wikd?
@@dashbuurd4358 Yeah, I guess you're right lol. I tried so hard to learn bomb-jumping and I just couldn't get the hang of it
Caught some of your parry practice on twitch the other night, glad to see you got a good run, congrats!

Been out of the dread speed run meta for a bit, but what’s the point of reloading the file?

How do you teleport from being on morph ball to jumping all the way up( minutes 24:30 to 24:42)?
Its called a ledge warp, I set up this glitch moments before to be able to warp back there
LETS GOOO
Wow this game has come a long way since I stopped. I used to run any% NMG before all the big updates. What version of the game was this played on?

@@Arkandy I thought they patched the ledge warp used at 24:17? Or was it the invincibility glitch they patched? I might be confused
