Hi Patric, I would like to know something. I spent 11 days in induced coma in ICU after suicidal attempt, when I overdose on prescription medication . I remember being intubated and it was extremely traumatic but I don’t remember how I got to ICU and what really happened. Everything after I woke up, I’m not exactly sure what was a reality and what was not. But I have to have something in my mouth and moving???, and when I didn’t the computer went crazy and started beeping , but I’m not exactly certain what was a dream. I was apparently on Fentanyl and Propofile. I had to learn how to walk again and my oxygen levels were low. I was delirious for another almost 2 months but kind of in and out. But I spent only 5 days more in ICU after I woke up, then they transferred me to a different ward in the hospital and I spent another 2 months there because of delirium. I also had a pneumonia but I don’t know how I got it.

Recently spent 11 days in ICU and 6 days in an induced coma (acute pancreatitis caused by alcohol abuse).. I was on a ventilator, being given propofol, remfentanil and dexmedetomidine..
WILD experience.. Delirium is no joke, and I’ve got days worth of hallucinations that seem real to me.. Before going to ICU I was already being given strong stuff, I was on fentanyl using a PCA (loved it), and detox medication and who knows what else.. In total I spent 17 days in hospital, have almost zero memory of about 15 of those days, just a bunch of craziness in my head that I’ve been going over again and again with my partner to figure out what was real and what wasn’t.. Even knowing hallucinations were actually hallucinations doesn’t change the realness of them in my brain and considering almost all of them were bad I don’t think I’ll ever truly get over it.. I’ve been out of hospital for 4 and a half weeks now (alcohol free, will never drink again) and still think about what I thought, heard and saw all the time.. I don’t think anyone can truly understand how traumatic it is unless they’ve been through it.

Years ago I arrived at the hospital at a .53 BAC. I had to be put in a coma for 3 weeks. That time in a coma my muscles atrophied and I spent almost a year in a nursing facility. I spent a few weeks on a bi pap before I could breathe on my own. I was as helpless as a newborn. I was never full of such piss and vinegar to get back on my feet. I was told probably 2 years or more. I was up and about in 11 months. I kept getting admonished for pushing too far too fast. It took having a fall where I broke my arm and ribs to get me to slow down. Never take independence for granted

My husband was admitted for a small 3 in rash and respiratory issues 48 yrs old he was admitted for a bacterial infection and COVID allegedly. I say this because he already had covid a few months before he was hospitalized for as well. He tried to contact the nurse 4 xs to no avail he walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower to try and use the steam to help hikm breathe better. Somehow he flooded the shower into the bed area? The nurse didnt tell me what had occurred at first another nurse passed by ans mentioned it I believe he wa placed into a coma because he wwnt without oxygen too long but they werent even going to tell me? He was in. A vegetable statem why would he need fentanyl? He did not have any pain they had him on a fentanyl drip

He didn't wake up in minutes a after they turned it down they induced him twice by the way they had to hold his chest skin snd twist it so hard saying his name repeatedly and even then he only sighed slightly?
