    I'm watching this today because I just learned she died by suicide. How sad. May she finally rest in peace. I hope her husband and daughters find peace as well.

    • @lhmmhl1
      @lhmmhl1 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      She's the definition of selfishness. You simply cannot off yourself if you have children. She has ruined their lives because of her ego.

    • @alisonw7802
      @alisonw7802 ปีที่แล้ว

      @lhmmhl1 you obviously don't understand brain disease like depression or suicidal ideation. Good luck with that in your life and relationships. You must have a nice prickly shoulder for your friends and family to lean on. Real nice.

      @@lhmmhl1 you clearly have no idea what depression is.

      @lhmmhl1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @designer-mama ha. Suicide is not an option once you have children. The devastation that decision brings on everyone around you is unimaginable. And it's a million times worse for children.

    • @designer-mama
      @designer-mama ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@lhmmhl1 I get why you would think that. I had a friend who's father killed himself because he felt that his family would be better off without him. I don't disregard what you're saying at all, but I don't think it's so black and white either. I also think she was pretty drunk when she did it as well, which def clouds the judgement. 😥 sad situation all around for sure.

    I totally understand the waking up and not being able to understand how you could've felt so bad. It happens almost every time I have a depressive episode. I go from being in complete denial about being depressed to total clarity when it’s over. So wild.

    I am so so sad to hear she passed away and can only think of her beautiful young daughters who I’m sure she loved. It’s gng to be a hard road to healing for the family. I’m sad that after all the efforts to stay alive she couldn’t. I wish there was a full cure and I encourage people to seek help and have faith in a higher purpose.

    So....this treatment didn't "fix" her. Just based on how manic her writing and behavior on social media have gotten over the past couple of years, she is definitely still struggling. I saw her at a reading in Seattle last year and she cried for almost 90 straight minutes. Is that normal?
    It's interesting that there has been no more "news" from this supposedly life-changing clinical trial.

      As a Christian...that's not helpful, that's the exact answer you shouldn't say to someone suicidal because it alienates them further. Like geez, what so wrong with me that God won't even respond. Or they'll never talk to you again about it because you're not listening to their pain. You're giving a trite answer and invalidating the depth of both their despair and faith. When in depression even a believer gets to a point where they just cannot go one step further despite their faith. I'm reading her book right now, she cried out to God. She did! And he answered her with this clinical trial. People like to say God always provides but it may not be the exact answer you wanted or liked but in the long run it's the right answer, because it's God's answer. God created people, people who make major medical breakthroughs every day, breakthroughs that save LIVES. Should we not seek treatment for a heart attack? Or just ask God to take away? I'm guessing most people would call 911 and then pray. Please believe I'm not trying to be rude, I'm dead serious. This very answer has cost so many their lives as it only adds guilt when seeking out help.

      @@hmcbolser2584 Thank you for posting this reply. We don’t share the same religious beliefs, but I love your approach. Anyone who says to _just do ______ and your mental illness will get fixed_ is being unhelpful. The only exception is encouraging someone to seek professional help, because doing so will give them *multiple specific and helpful* things to try. Working on mental health can be so incredibly difficult and discouraging. It’s completely ok if some people don’t really understand that, as long as they’re willing and trying to understand.
