I do sometimes just to see if it's just me or there's actually a problem with the kit.
Me. Especially when I'm not planning to build it yet but still wanna see how it's like when it's built.
The moveable skirts make the enhanced hip articulation look alot more natural than the G40.

Well the only other model really is the beam bazooka and you can only really do one pose with it at the end of the day maybe two
This is the only kit that I buy immediately after it released and I love it. This is my favorite granddaddy so far! The proportion looks very dynamic with the smaller longer waist design, definitely look more like a super robot. And the legs looks more similar to the human leg proportion which looks nice especially in kneeling pose . Most of the Japanese robot has short thigh, when you do some kneeling pose it never look right.
I can't believe the RG came out ten years ago. Damn I feel old.

My favorite granddaddy hg are the revive and the origin. But after this review, I’m gonna get this one and display it next to my 2 favorites. The articulation of this is looking awesome.
Looking forward to your paint up of this kit. I decided to follow your lead and do my own set of the three new HG Grandpas (in my own color choices, of course) and it's been a great quarantine project. Still deciding if I'll add the RX-78-F00 to the line up.

Y’know, initially I passed on this kit because at first the proportions and overall design look off to me, so I passed even seeing it in person once. But after actually taking a good look at it and looking at this review, although I also love and have a lot of Revive’s MAYBE I’ll take a break from the usual and give this one a chance and see if it passes my judgement and experience why it’s a lot of people’s favorite HG RX.

Not a fan of the design of the head and the chest vents, but can definitely vibe with the dark white colour scheme. Still think the OG RG one is my fav
The panel line details on the knee is reminiscent of the MG Rx 78-2 ver 1.0's knee

G40: ALMOST anime version
hello, im new to gundam but i want to try build it, can you recommend which one should i start for beginner like me, is rx-78-2 a good one to start with
When I get the money to buy it, I'm definitely picking it up, if I can. The knees honestly aren't that bad, I see it as almost like a kneeling pad, or something.
Recently I've been getting video suggestions for reviews of the Special Creative Model EX RX-78-2 Gundam which is action figure. From what I can tell the Beyond Global is based on this figure. The SCM EX Gundam is in a smaller scale and has slightly bigger proportions in its arms and legs but shares a lot of design with the Beyond Global.

The thrusters on the backpack kind of look like they are able to have a peg plugged in if you want to expand the thrusters in size if you wanted to. That's kind of neat, I'll have to check that out when I get this.
you could also just drill the thrusters a bit if you wanted to put a peg in

Just got another one to do custom colors for.
Saw this at my local hobby shop and was wondering if I should get it since I've never gotten a HG before. I'm mostly into MG and RG so this may be a bit simple but it looks great. I feel like I'm getting way too many model kits ever since covid though. Where am I supposed to keep these damn things? Displays are getting cluttered!!

Lol, yeah surprise? Turns out when you’re messing with a kit in front of a camera in front of your face sometimes you push parts too hard. It’s not like it’s a devastating flaw of the kit I was trying to hide on purpose 😒

Im fighting over which RX78-2 i should buy, the Origin or this Beyond Global. The Origin's detail is great throughout and the accessories are plentiful. But i like the proportion and colours of the Beyond Global, and also cheaper... Argh which should i buy??

I'm currently building this as my first Gunpla and it's very fun.
Its fairly small thought. Are all 1/144 the same size?
Don't know where you are in your gunpla journey since making this comment but yeah the HGs are generally 5 inches or so tall while MGs are bigger in detail, height, and price

Funny that Bandai reutilized a lot of this kit on the last RX-78_2 entry grade
For a 40th anniversary edition i find the lack of accesories, and the "red" coloring. Besides that it looks great.

I think it makes the chest look a bit more dynamic, but yes the stomach armor is pretty slim.

they'll just remove the 40th anniversary logo just like what bandai did to the logo on the boxes of the rg Gramps and the revive!
so for the 1/144 granddaddy kits we have The Origin, the G40, the Beyond Global, the new Entry Grade, and the recently revealed RX-78F00, this year is full of granddaddy in the 1/144 scale, that is too much.
Why do the bottoms of HG feet often have gaps in them? Like what is Bandai saving themselves from doing by having those?
Probably half a miligram of plastic per kit
In order to make the foot as one piece the mold needs to be recessed on either the top or bottom and many times that means in order to make the connection on the top they have to recess the bottom

I’m fine! I guess for this one maybe it just felt there really wasn’t that much to cover other than what you could clearly see. Know what I mean? It’s a great kit, but pretty straightforward

Same. I think rg was a good grade for it’s time but now rg has pretty much done away with its inner frame that didn’t really work so now they are really just hg kits with a bit more detail. Like i said good for their time but now with how advanced hg kits are they are near irrelevant
@@oliverwithers9736 sorry I’m replying to a comment from a month ago but RG’s aren’t irrelevant any RG after the RG unicorn gundam is solid due to the removal of the prebuilt inner frame so they are basically highly detailed hg’s and contain more parts.
@@pengu0- yeah I worded mine poorly my point was meant to be that as the original marketing point modern rg kits have no relevance to the old ones and are similar to hg kits but I was trying to say the old ones are irrelevant but the new ones are very good even if they are really really good hgs as good hg kits like the moon gundam are pretty much rgs

Evem bandai keeps forgetting the 30th anniversary Gundam. Heck it came with a bazooka AND the gundam hammer.

I think beyond global body proportions are better applied in the seed kit. RX 78 2 with slim proportion are not not suitable
Proportions feel rather Pixie-ish to me. Not a bad thing but it just strikes me that way.

At least it's a new mold, unlike the unicorn, banshee, and phenex, which has about 7 different molds which are recolored about 70 times.

@@robertoperez94 Build-wise? Not really. The Origin ver. might look cooler and have more features, but this kit is more solid and features new engineering. Articulation is on par, with each being better in different joints.
the origin gramps can't do the final shot pose, beyond global can do it without breaking a sweat! beyond global is more technically advanced than the origin, no polycaps man, no polycaps!
The kit looks cool but to me the white kinda looks wierd

For me personally, the panelling for the knees and the outcome doesn't cut it.

Hmm. Seems an unnecessary kit. If I were to choose I will just get the hg gto. Articulation and proportions are better. Imo. But for the plastic in the box bang for the buck, gto is inarguably better.
