I really love sitting down and watching your videos, Adele. Relaxing while learning, and getting more and more juiced up. I, too, am a colour tragic...have always described myself as an artist who first and foremost gets tingly with colour relationships. Not so much colours per se, but how they relate to each other. Thanks again.
I have been working on this process today. It took me a lot longer to create my compositions, but, I expected that. I am so intrigued by abstracts, but when I go directly to paint I come up with compositions that just don’t feel right, and disappointing results. This process and the other cut paper methods you share for making abstracts slow down the process and allow me to develop creations that are more pleasing to me. Thanks for sharing your great ideas. It’s very helpful.
Hi Robin, I am so glad you are liking what you are creating are more pleasing to you. Perhaps you might want to work with collage for awhile instead of painting. Best of luck. 🌸
I am so happy I have found you. Your style and explanations of your thinking process while creating verifies to me that I'm on the right track. I am inspired to do a series and will share the pieces with you when complete. I love your work. Thank you so much for these videos.
Love your work, Adele. You're inspiring me with a fun piece I have in my head. Would love to see how you do these color swatches. What paper do you use? Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
I love your sense of colour Adele. I'd also be fascinated to see more videos on how you use collage as you progress your wonderful huge abstract paintings, please.
Adele Sypesteyn Studio )I do love the way you use smaller collage works to create studies for larger works. I did several from your other demo and I think I have at least two worthy of enlarging. I will try this 4!6! Or eight combo as well. I also want to see how you work from a smaller collage group to a large piece. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful videos that encourage my own experimentation.
I love the first collage! Watched this early am Sunday, in bed as I watch n stretch and midway I wanted to jump up and paint paper to make the swatches - how fun! More collage please! :)
Thanks for letting me know that. The simple fact that they take a long time to do is why I don’t put them up here. But I do have a short course showing you a start to finish super large one and I explain the 5 stages every painting goes through. Check it out on my website under courses. Adelesypesteyn.com
Yes, more about how you start an abstract, too. I love when you go through your thoughts from raw umber all the way to the finished piece. However, getting the composition started is the hardest part for me. I have to get the rules out of my head. You could do a rule breaker video if you need an idea. All of your videos are fabulisimo.
PS Everything you do ends up beautiful. I'm watching you put things together saying no, no, yes, yes, yes,.. like I'm in the room. You do a lot of things that look wrong... but look amazing at the end of the process. Why I came back... I thought you might break down a full painting tutorial into 5-7 parts. Only if it would be easier for you.
Im working on developing my collage techniques. I love collage. I like to use patterned oragami paper. I am selftaught so i find your tutorials very interesting. I also paint in a surreal or abstract style. Thank you for your videos.
I have enjoyed all of you videos. Recently I am enjoying incorporating collage in my abstracts. I vote for more of everything!❤️ Thank you for sharing!
I like 1 and 3. Adele, I appreciate your teaching technique. You explain the process so well. I don’t mind collage but I would like more painting videos, especially on composition, color etc. And if you ever do more impressionist or representational art, would love to watch you paint.
I would love to know how you attach the 5x7s to the larger canvas panel. Glue? Weight of the glass? Thanks Adele! Love how generous you are with your knowledge and talent 😁
Adele, i am doing very much collages over the last years…...but your video inspires me to try this abstract way. I am looking forward to see more of your collage ideas. Thank you very much for sharing.
It’s a great inspiration watching your videos! I will definitely working on becoming more strukturera and making the coulour scheme you shared earlier and this fun exercise.. Thanks a lot Adele! Love Ellinor
Ty...it’s so amazing when you put them on the white background and framed for a finished look. I need work on finishing and end steps. I love collage too and would like more videos with more collage in your work. Ty so much, I look forward to your video of the day.
Loved this! Would like to see a video on your organization- how do you save papers etc w/o creating clutter? I don’t have a full studio so am constrained on space. Thanks for your videos you are a wonderful teacher and artist
Thanks so much Diane. Believe it or not, I have a very small studio and not much space so I have organized the collage pieces in a special way. I would love to show that. Maybe the next video? 🌸
@@AdeleSypesteynStudio Yes please organizing these papers ....Organizing any part of your studio. I use your tray method but I'm losing control of it .. What would I do without your wonderful Videos.
Thanks for more inspiration Adele! I’m amazed that in the midst of Round Top you were able to focus on this piece. You really are inspirational! Where to you get these colour swatches? I think I like the last piece because it included the dark value. ❤️
Quite often I will sit in the studio for awhile and just mix colors. Not only do I have a big stack of them, but then I am inspired to start a new painting. 🌸
I too like the first one. Love this video and all of your videos!! You are very generous in your sharing. It looks like you're not particular with making sure that all the edges are glued down. Is that true? Do you use acrylic paint to paint the swatches? Your colors are beautiful.
I painted them! It's so fun to make your own colors, and sometimes I don't feel inspired to make an entire piece or I have leftovers from other works. Try it! It's a lot of fun
Stephanie, the paper I used for the color swatches you see is 100% translucent marker paper. It is thin and I love it. To get the same sizes I did cut the larger piece down. 🌸
Yes yes yes… a series on collage would be wonderful!
I would love more collage . You teach so well. tahnks a lot
Love this, thank you. More collage videos please. #1 collage
I like the first example. Love this video.
My favourite is no 3. I love it

You can attach the smaller pieces to the larger canvas with Matte or gloss gel. Hope this helps. 🌸
@@AdeleSypesteynStudio thanks!

Thanks Adele for your replies. I certainly appreciate your time and efforts on my/our behalf.
Certainly, number one!
The first one resonates with me.
I like the third one best but all can be used in the future of course. Agree collage would be very interesting for me, thanks!
I would love it if you would do a collage series.
ooo that WOULD be fun!
I like one and three. Thanks, this would work for stained glass as well.
I love all your videos! Thank you! 💗💗💗
Thanks so much for the kind words. 🌸
I love your videos. You are such a wonderful teacher. I would love to see more on collage and texture in acrylics/watercolor/inks.
Thank you Harriet. I appreciate your feedback about what you would like to see more of, and I will do those. 🌸
loved them all the first one was my fave am inspired to make a large piece this way .. will there be way to post the image here ?
Thanks for more inspiration Adele! I’m amazed that in the midst of Round Top you were able to focus on this piece. You really are inspirational! Where to you get these colour swatches?
I think I like the last piece because it included the dark value. ❤️
It was a bit of a challenge doing this video in the heat at Round Top. But once I begin creating, I get in the flow and just love it. 🌸
I like the last one best! Thanks again for a good teachning
Hi Adele, love this collage idea! Thanks so much for sharing. What do you use to colour the translucent marker paper with? With love from London xx
I mix acrylic fluid paints from Golden paints. Once I get started mixing I can’t stop. So I end up with lots of fun color swatches. 🌸
I liked the last set. I have a pad of colored paper plain and patterned. Now, I know what to do with it. Thanks
Great, I hope you have fun with the paper. Enjoy. 🌸
Hi Adèle lovely idea! Cannot wait to begin myself! Where on earth did you get your colour papers????
Quite often I will sit in the studio for awhile and just mix colors. Not only do I have a big stack of them, but then I am inspired to start a new painting. 🌸
Adele Sypesteyn Studio oh so you painted them yourself!
Adele, if you have a video on how to make this papers I would love to see it. Thanks for the great insights.
I liked the 1st one best. Would love to see a series of collage or mixed media. Thank you.
I have started to do some videos on collage because many people are asking for it. 🌸
Bonjour, je trouve votre travail vraiment inspirant. Merci ! Quel papier utilisez vous ? L'avez vous peint ou est-il déjà coloré ?

Hard to make a decision of the three set ups. I think i like the last one. Great video.
I like the best the first one 😊
All lovely but first one is the best for me 🌸
Looks great...

In this video I didn’t make it a priority to trim the edges and as it turns out, I rather like the effect. 🌸
I like the first example.
Yes, please do more collage.
Where do you get those amazing color papers?
I painted them! It's so fun to make your own colors, and sometimes I don't feel inspired to make an entire piece or I have leftovers from other works. Try it! It's a lot of fun
Yes please...more collage 😁

Thank you for the tutorial, I liked the first example
For me it's all about the location of the black = so the second arrangement is my fav. Glue sticks glue comes in different colors ? Cool.
Glue sticks do come in different colors. I just grabbed these from the store and didn’t realize they came out purple, but they dry clear. 🌸
So interesting - I like the the first one - thank you for sharing!
Love this idea...and yes, I would love to see more collage. what are you painting on? Deli papers?
